1
Gran Torino (2009,  R)
Gran Torino
Clint eastwood Has Always Been The Man. It Came As No Surprise That Gran Torino Would Stack Up To His Best. Eastwood Has Real Talent Considering He Directed, Produced, & Starred In The Film.
2
Paul Blart: Mall Cop (2009,  PG)
Paul Blart: Mall Cop
Kevin James Is Great. This Movie Is Ok. Most Of The Jokes Are A Little Childish But Overall This Movie Entertained Me. I Mean, Come On, Kevin James Was Playing RockBand When The Villians Pulled The Heist! Lord Knows Im Distracted When Im Rocking Out To "KisS"! Lmao xD
3
Underworld: The Rise of the Lycans (2009,  R)
Underworld: The Rise of the Lycans
The Biggest Surprise of This Year! I Hated The First Two Underworlds because Some Of The Elements Didnt Feel Real To Me. This Movie Did, Due To The Fact That Neither The Werewolves Or The Vampires Carried Guns!!! The Story Goes Back To The Beginning Of Lucian & Viktors Continuing Hatred For Each Other And Is Most Likely Going To End Up #10 On My "Best Of 09" List. Bill Nighy Is The Only Badass Here!
4
Taken (2009,  PG-13)
Taken
Liam Neeson Kicking Ass. ENOUGH SAID!!!!!!!!!!! xD
5
Watchmen (2009,  R)
Watchmen
Its About Damn Time A Director Got The Balls To Make A Movie That Is A Dead Ringer To The Comic Book! Be Warned, This Movie Isnt A Superhero Movie, Its A Crime Drama Where The Protagonists Wear Costumes. The Only "Super" Here Is Dr. Manhatten/Billy Crudup. Nonetheless, Watchmen Is A Superb Film That Proves Movies Are About Great Storys, Characters, & Visuals.
6
Knowing (2009,  PG-13)
Knowing
Ah! Nicolas Cage. Over 60 Films, And Only 3 Good Ones. Knowing Started Off So Well, Then Became Just Another Action/Suspense/Nicolas Cage Movie. When You Blend Science Fiction With Religion, It Always Ends In Disaster.
7
Sin Nombre (2009,  R)
Sin Nombre
A Damn Great Movie, But How Can You Go Wrong With Diego Luna & Gael-Garcia Bernal Executive Producing. The Gang Violence Depicted In This Movie Is Very True To Life, And The Story Also Shows A Different Side To The Immigration Issue. Some Of Them Are Just Trying To Escape The Violence That Is Their Everyday Lives.
8
Race to Witch Mountain (2009,  PG)
Race to Witch Mountain
Ah! The Rock! The Most Electrifying Man In Sports Entertainment. Movies, Not So Much. But Considering This Is A Remake, I Can See No Other Actor Approaching This Role. AnnaSophia Robb Never Dissapoints, And The Movie Does A Good Job Keeping You Interested Til The End, And, Knowing Disney, The Sequel.
9
Fast and Furious (2009,  PG-13)
Fast and Furious
Fast & Furious Confused Me. In A Movie About Street Racing, Theres Only 2 races In It. Justin Lin Kept The Series Alive With Initial D... I Mean Tokyo Drift, But Wrecked The Franchise by Making This Movie A Murder Mystery. Nice To See The Old Cast Though.
10
The Haunting in Connecticut (2009,  PG-13)
The Haunting in Connecticut
Based About 76% On An Actual Haunting, This Movie Delivered The Scares. That Ending Though Seemed A Little Tacked On. Nice Work On Ectoplasm, One of The Few Paranormal Cards That Hasnt Been Played.
11
Monsters vs. Aliens (2009,  PG)
Monsters vs. Aliens
Very Few Dreamworks Animated Movies Rival Pixar. Monsters Vs. Aliens Is Ahead Of The Pack And Is The Best Dreamworks Animated Movie Since Shrek. Reese Witherspoon, Seth Rogan, & Rainn Wilson Steal The Show And Deliver Great Performances. Im Looking Forward To A Sequel.
12
Adventureland (2009,  R)
Adventureland
The Sleeper Hit Of 2009! Jesse Eisenberg & Kristen Stweart Are The Perfect On-Screen Couple. Bill Hader Delivers The Laughs As Usual, And People Need To Quit Bashing This Movie For Not Being "Superbad 2!" If You're Looking For A Different Type Of Movie, Look No Further.
13
12 Rounds (2009,  PG-13)
12 Rounds
John Cena, John Cena, John Cena. Fake Rapper, Fake Wrestler, Fake Actor. WWE Films Should Have Stopped After The Condemned, But 12 Rounds Wasnt All That Boring. A Few Interesting Ideas Here And There But This Movie Is Only Worth A Rental.
14
Dragonball Evolution (2009,  PG)
Dragonball Evolution
MOTHER OF GOD, I Really Didnt Think They Could Drop The Ball On This One. But Piccolo Didnt Even Have Moving Antennas. Even Andorians On Star Trek TOS Have Moving Antennas! Justin Chatwin Looks Nothing Like Goku, Chow Yun Fat Isnt Anywhere Near Old Enough To Play Master Roshi, And The Final Battle Between Goku & Piccolo, To The Movies Credit, Was Nothing But Ki Blasts Like In The Anime, Managed To Look Like A Water Balloon Battle. Easily The Worst Movie Of The Last Ten Years!!!!!
15
Crossing Over (2009,  R)
Crossing Over
Harrison Ford Has Been A Badass Since He Played Han Solo, And This Movie Is No Different. Wayne Kramer Delivers Another Fast Paced Movie That Makes You Think About All Sides Of The Story. Truly, The American Dream Indeed.
16
Friday the 13th (2009,  R)
Friday the 13th
How Do You Screw Up Jason Vorhees? Give Him A Bow And Arrow And Teenage Fodder That Makes The People On Cabin Fever Look Like Nobel Prize Winners. This Movie Destroyed The Franchise. Jason X Will Live On As The Last Good Jason Movie.
17
Obsessed (2009,  PG-13)
Obsessed
Beyonce Knowles Acting Is Like Teaching A Dog To Brush His Teeth. Not Necissarily A Bad Idea, Just A Very Stupid One. Obsessed Goes Through Every Suspense Movie Cliche And Pulls Them Off With Little To No Effort. A Bad Movie Through & Through.
18
X-Men Origins - Wolverine (2009,  PG-13)
X-Men Origins - Wolverine
Hugh Jackman Continues To Make Wolverine An Emotional Train Wreck. Liev Schrieber Steals The Show As Sabretooth, & Ryan Reynolds Does An Ok Job As Deadpo...I Mean Wade Wilson. The Story Made Little Sense, But You Dont Watch Wolverine For The Story Now Do You?
19
Star Trek (2009,  PG-13)
Star Trek
JJ Abrams Does The Impossible, As Much As It Screws Up The Established Timeline. Every Cast Member Fills The Shoes Of Their Characters Well, And The Enterprise Looks Great! Lots Of Action And A Great Character Driven Story Make This One Of The Best Of 2009.
20
Terra (Battle For Terra) (2009,  PG)
Terra (Battle For Terra)
Pixar & Dreamworks Set The Standard For Beautiful Animation. This Animation Is A Little Stiff Here And There, But Its The Story That Won Me Over. Evan Rachel Wood & Luke Wilson Work Well Together In The Lead Roles Of Maya & Jim Stanton, & Mark Hamill, Always A Badass, Does A Great Job Portraying Elder Orin. If Your A Fan Of CG Animated Movies, Give This One A Rent!
21
Rudo y Cursi (2009,  R)
Rudo y Cursi
Diego Luna & Gael Garcia Bernal Are Back, And Better Than Ever. The Story of Two Mexican Brothers Who Dream Of Soccer. & A Better Life Is Very Well Acted. Guillermo Francella Is Brilliant As Their Agent. The Story Treads Mostly Familiar Realm But It Never Gets Boring. All Must See This Movie To See Gael Garcia Bernal Sing A Spanish Version Of Cheap Tricks "I Want You To Want Me".
22
The Limits of Control (2009,  R)
The Limits of Control
Jim Jarmuschs New Movie Has A Lot Of Things In Common With His Old Movies, Weirdness. This Movie Features An All-Star Cast Including Tilda Swinton, Bill Murray, & Gael Garcia Bernal. The Story Twisted Her & There But Its Easy To Follow, Well, Kind Of. Just Remebers The Matchbooks.
23
Next Day Air (2009,  R)
Next Day Air
Boy Donald Faison Keeps Getting Screwed Over. Since Clueless, He's Been Givin Nothing But Crap Roles. Next Day Air Proves That He Should Have Stuck To Scrubs. Too Many Characters To Care About, Terrible Story, & Plot Twists That Arent Exactly Plot Twists. Avoid At All Costs!
24
Terminator Salvation (2009,  PG-13)
Terminator Salvation
This Should Have Been A Masterpiece But Director McG Drops The Ball! This Movie Looks Like Every Other Sci-Fi Movie With Terminator Elements Copy & Pasted Here & There. Christian Bale Give A Performance Similar To Gerard Butler On 300. I Cant Remember Which Critic Said This Following Quote But He Was Right, "Yelling At Different Volumes Isnt Acting!" The Biggest Disappointment This Year! >:(
25
Dance Flick (2009,  PG-13)
Dance Flick
These Movies Are Really Getting Old. But Compared To Disaster Movie This One Wasnt All That Bad. Rent This One.
26
Tyson (2009,  R)
Tyson
This Was A Documentary That Blew Me Away! To See The Rise And Fall Of A Great Boxers Career From His Own Point Of Veiw Is Nothing Short Of Astounding. Be Sure And Check This One Out as Well As The Made For Tv Movie Starring Michael Jai White!
27
Land of the Lost (2009,  PG-13)
Land of the Lost
The Television Series That Spawned This Movie Was Very Campy, So Who Better Than Will Farrell To Spearhead This Project. Mixing The Old With The New Works Well, And Danny McBride Is The Real Comedian Here. Worth A Rental If You Like Either Of Those Stars.
28
The Hangover (2009,  R)
The Hangover
Quite Possibly The Funniest Movie Of This Year But i Still Need To See I Love You Man, Funny People, & Fanboys. Ed Helms & Zach Galifianakis Are At The Top Of Their Game On This Hiliarious Todd Phillips Film.
29
Dead Snow (Død snø) (2009,  Unrated)
Dead Snow (Død snø)
This Norwegian Comedy-Horror Film Is A little Cliched In Too Many Areas, But The Movie dosent Take Itself Too Seriously. A Good Nazi-Zombie Way To Kill An Afternoon, If You're Into This Kind Of Movie.
30
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009,  PG-13)
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
Micheal Bay Truly Is A Strange Filmaker. I Wasnt Too proud Of The First Movie, But This Sequel delivered The Robot On Robot Action That Took Too Long To Unfold On The First One. Shia LaBeouf Is Great As Sam, Megan Fox Is Yet Again Nothing More Than Eye Candy, & Peter Cullen Is Badass As Usual As Optimus Prime. I Could List My Complaints About This One, But That Would Take Too Much Time. Bigger, Louder, & Better Than The First!!!!
31
Up (2009,  PG)
Up
I'll Be Honest, This Movie Didnt Seem That Great When I First Saw The Trailer. But Leave It To Pixar To Go Beyond Expectations. Ed Asner Delivers A Grand Performance Not To Be Missed, And The Movie Is Entertaining As Well As Intriging Dealing With Loss, & Acceptance. The Best Part Was That When My Younger Sister & I Were Watching This Movie, We Noticed That All The Adults Were The Ones Laughing!
32
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (Ice Age 3) (2009,  PG)
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (Ice Age 3)
The First Ice Age Movie Ive Ever Seen and Ive Got To Say, I Wasnt Bored. Stiff Animation, Not As Good As Up But, Better Than Battle For Terra. Ray Ramano, Queen Latifah, Denis Leary & John Leguizamo Do Great But Its Simon Pegg Who Steals The show On This One. Great For The Kids, Everyone Else, Not So Much.
33
Moon (2009,  R)
Moon
Moon Is A Trip, Thats The Only Way I Can Describe It! I Guess I Should Expect No Less From The Son Of David Bowie! Sam Rockwell Move You With His Performance About A Man Who Slowly Loses His Mind While On A Three Year Mission To Extract Helium-3 From The Lunar Soil. A Must See!!!!
34
Green Lantern: First Flight (2009,  PG-13)
Green Lantern: First Flight
Finally, One Of The Greatest Superheroes Get His Movie. Christopher Meloni Provides The Voice Of Hal Jordan As He Recieves The Ring That Harvests The Green Element Ion! Victor Garber Is Excellent As Sinestro.
35
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009,  PG)
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
The Harry Potter Movies Take Way Too Many Liberties With The Books, But If You've Never Read Them, The Movies Do A Great Job Reeling You In. Quite Possibly The Best Movie In The Series, With Great Acting By Daniel Radcliff & Jim Broadbent. Most People Hate The Half Blood Prince Because Of The Ending But You Cant Deny The Power Of Great Storytelling.
36
Aliens in the Attic (2009,  PG)
Aliens in the Attic
Not A Whole Lot To Say About This Movie. Its Sad To See Doris Roberts & Kevin Nealon Dumbing Themselves Down To This Level Of Comedy. And Kari Whalgren, Always Awesome, Really Lowered Her Standards.
37
The Hurt Locker (2009,  R)
The Hurt Locker
One Of The Best Of The Year! The Hurt Locker Begins With A Quote From The Book "War is a Force That Gives Us Meaning" by Chris Hedges, And The Story Really Digs Deep To Stress That Point. Jeremy Renner Is Flawless As Sergeant First Class William James, As This Movie Really Makes You Clench While Watching Some Of The Most Intense War Movie Scenes Since Saving Private Ryan. A Definite Must-See!
38
I Love You Beth Cooper (2009,  PG-13)
I Love You Beth Cooper
A Sub-Par Comedy That Is A Total Disaster Compared To The Book. Paul Rust & Hayden Panettierre Seem As If They Really Didnt Try To Act In This, & I Still Ponder To This Day Why A Very Dirty Book Can Only Get A PG-13 Rating. Not The Worst But Still Agonizing To Watch. READ THE BOOK!!!! Trust Me, Its Better!
39
Year One (2009,  PG-13)
Year One
Jack Black & Micheal Cera Should Have Been Way Better Than This! The Adventures Of Zed & Oh (YES!, Thats Their Actual Names In This Movie) Dont Compare To Any Of The Buddy Movies In Recent Years Good or Bad. A Complete Waste Of Your Time & Money!
40
My Bloody Valentine 3-D (2009,  R)
41
Inglourious Basterds (2009,  R)
Inglourious Basterds
Tarantino Does It Again Fellow Movie Lovers. Great Story, Great Music, Great Cast, & Beautiful Set-Pieces. A Few Scenes Went On A Little Bit Too Long But The Dialogue And Action Kept This Train Rolling. Bonus Points For Making Eli Roth A Badass!!
42
H2: Halloween II (2009,  R)
H2: Halloween II
Rob Zombie Continues To Deliver Good Movies. Compared To 2007's Remake, This Movie Didnt Seem To Have Any Real Direction In Terms Of Story & Character Developement, Well, Except For The Great Malcolm McDowell. Lots Of Gore And An Amazing Soundtrack Elevate This Movie To Your Average Slasher Flick. Worth A Rent If Not A Fan Of The Series.
43
The Final Destination (2009,  R)
44
Observe and Report (2009,  R)
Observe and Report
Wow!? Seth Rogan Was Either Scared Of Paul Blart:Mall Cop, Or Just Wanted To De-Rail His Career. Writer/Director Jody Hill Tried To Make This What Some Have Called "The Dark Mall Cop Movie" But Unlike Paul Blart, This Movie Is Unfunny. Micheal Pena Especially Got On My Nerves, And The Movie Relied Too Much On The Overacting Of Seth Rogan Instead Of Making A Vast World Full Of Character. Not As Ba A Dragonball Evolution, But Still Not Worth Your Time.
45
Coraline (2009,  PG)
Coraline
The Glorious Return Of Stop-Motion Animation. Neil Gaiman's Book Of The Same Name Translates Well Into The Big Screen, And The 3D Will Make You Shiver At A Few Moments. Dakota Fanning, Teri Hatcher, & Keith David Are Probably The Most Well Known Actors But Everybody In This Film Delivers A Great Performance As The Characters & Their Other Selves. Creepy For Most Children, But Overall, A Triumph In Animation!!!
46
I Love You, Man (2009,  R)
I Love You, Man
ITS ABOUT DAMN TIME I GOT TO SEE THIS MOVIE!!!!!
Paul Rudd Is Funny As Hell As Peter Klaven, A Man With No Male Friends, Until He Meets Sydney Fife. Jason Segal Steals The Show (As He So Often Does) As Sydney Who Lives Life To Its Fullest. Rashida Jones (Who Im Not Really Fond Of) Does Well As Peters Fiance. Not Gross Out Funny Like Many Other Films But This Is Comedy At Its Best. The Man Cave & The Wedding Band "Tastes Like Chicken" Are What Im Still Laughing At To This Day!!!!!
47
Paranormal Activity (2009,  R)
Paranormal Activity
If I May Quote Eddie Murphy From The Nutty Professor:
"THIS IS SOME SCARY S**T!!!!!
Considered A Disappointment Because Many People Found Out It Wasnt A True Story, This Movie Delivered Where Scary Movies Are Supposed To Deliver, The Fear Of The Unknown. Katie Featherston & Micah Sloat Give Great Performances As A Constantly Bickering Couple, And Mark Fredrichs Is Good As The Self Proclaimed Psychic. More Poltergiest Activity Than Demonic Activity, But As Long As It Scares The S**t Out Of You, Who Cares What It Really Was.
48
Fired Up (2009,  PG-13)
Fired Up
Its So Sad To See A Movie Where A 29 & 32 Year Old Try To Play High School Football Players, Who Then Try To Become Cheerleaders. Bad Acting, Bad Writing, And The Nude Cheerleading By The Two Leads Make This A Real Crap Fest!
49
Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li (2009,  PG-13)
Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li
Kristen Kruek Tries To Revive The Street Fighter Movie Franchise, And Fails. Dont Get Me Wrong, The First Street Fighter Movie Was Less Than Perfect But At Least JCVD & Raul Julia Didnt Take Themselves Seriously. Chun-Li Who Is A Concert Pianist As Opposed To An Interpol Agent, Tries To Find The Evil M. Bison Who Kidnapped Her Father Some Years Ago. Most Of The Acting Is Stale And Robotic, And The Fight Scenes Are Terribly Choreographed. If You Love The Game, Stay Away, If You've Never Played The Games, You Might Like It.
50
2012 (2009,  PG-13)
2012
Roland Emmerich Ends His Disaster Movie Movies With His Biggest One Yet. Im Sure This Movie Ended Up On Manys Top 10 Worst But I Got A Huge Kick Out Of It. I Knew What I Was Walking Into AND Got What I Paid For. Acting Is Solid Enough But Nothing Special, And The Movie Was A Little Long! If You Can Sit Through It, Worth Your Money To See Some Damn Good Special Effects. If Not, Dont Waste 3 HoursOf Your Life!
51
Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009,  PG)
Fantastic Mr. Fox
I Remember Glancing AT This Book In The 2nd Grade. Ended Well Enough But I Thought It Could HAve Been More. Thanks To Hollywood, It Is More!!!
Fantastic Mr. Fox Is Great Writing & Great Acting Through And Through! George Clooney & Micheal Gambon Are The Winners Here As Mr. Fox & Mr. Bean As They Battle It Out Beyond The Book, But Willem DeFoe Stole They Show As The Wine Cellar Rat! Good For The Kids, Great For The Adults, Fantastic Mr. Fox Is A Triumph In Animation!
52
The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009,  PG-13)
The Twilight Saga: New Moon
The Most Anticipated Movie For The Millions Of 14 Year Old Girls....Wasnt That Boring! Granted There Is Some Mature Subject Matter, This Movie Handles Them Well. Robert Pattinson Is Nothing Special, It Was All About Taylor Lautner! Yes, Thats Right, Im A Jacob Fan!!!! Its All About The Lycans! LMAO xD
This Was The Last Book I Read Before Abandoning Them Entirely, & It Impressed Me. Dakota Fanning Is The Show Stealer In This One Despite The Fact She Appears In The Film For Like 2 Scenes. Not The Greatest Romance Movie, Not At All!, But Worth A Rental!
53
The Uninvited (2009,  PG-13)
The Uninvited
This Movie Had A Lot Going For It. The Twist Ending Would Have Made M. Night Shayamalan Proud But The Source Material Just Wasnt Handled That Well! This Was Definitely A Step Up for Emily Browning, Whom We Last Saw In A Series Of Unfortunate Events (2004), Who Plays The Some-What Disturbed Anna. Elizabeth Banks Does Well As The Woman Who Is Trying To Steal Away Emilys Father. Other Than Those Two, The Acting Isnt Much. Christopher Young Shines With The Tense Music Heard Throughout. Worth A Rental If Your Curious.
54
The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 (2009,  R)
55
Pirate Radio (The Boat That Rocked) (2009,  R)
