The Hunt for Red October (1990,  PG)
The Hunt for Red October
This is a movie based on a BEST SELLING NOVEL by Tom Clancy (my favorite writer). At the time that this movie was produced the COLD WAR was still heated, submarine warfare had reached a whole new level and was the most viable threat to National Security of the United States. A silent running Soviet Nuclear Submarine capable of parking itself just off the East Coast United States and taking out target packages from New York to Seattle with it's ICBM's. Really gets a man's attention, especially in the White House and in Moscow. In this movie not only did the Soviets build this sub, they put it to sea. It was designed for only one reason, to launch it's nuclear missiles payload at the United States in time of War. In the end the sub is given to the American's, by it's Captain (who defected to the United States with several key Soviet Naval Officers) with the assistance of the U.S. NAVY and the CIA. If you are a submarine movie fan, this is a great movie and the book is just as good. This is one of my favorite submarine movie's.

U-571 (2000,  PG-13)
U-571
I really liked this movie, why you ask(?) I love NAZI U-Boat Stories and this was one of the best I have heard.

The enigma machine that they sought in this movie was real and gave the NAZI Submarine's the capability to speak in an unbreakable code directly with Berlin during the Battle of the Atlantic (during World War II).

This movie is about the maturity of a U.S. Naval Officer who was turned down for a promotion and his own boat due to his inexperience.

U-571 is one of the best submarine movies ever made outside of the HUNT FOR THE RED OCTOBER.

But if you are an Ex-NAVY MAN and or Naval Vet. you will love this movie......

JFK (1991,  R)
JFK
Oliver Stone vs. the Warren Report, this was one of the only movies about the Assassination of our 35th President of the United States John F. Kennedy that comes close to the truth.

Everyone I've ever spoke to has said that JFK was shot from the right front, as is clearly proven by Oliver Stone in JFK.

Kevin Costner plays the leading role as New Orleans D.A. Jim Garrison as he starts the only real investigation into the Assassination of JFK by a non Federal Government Entity (excluding the corrupt Dallas Police Dept. and D.A.'s Office).

Jim Garrison quickly learns during the scope of his investigation and review of the entire Warren Report that a conspiracy had taken place in New Orleans and in Dallas prior to, on and thereafter the 22nd November 1963.

The Trianulation of Crossfire Theory comes into play, while the "MAGIC BULLET THEORY" put forth by the Warren Commission is thrown out the window for lack of merit.

In the end, Clay L. Shaw walks out of court a free man, but years later it is proven that he was with the CIA and had committed perjury during his trial in 1969.

Olive Stone took a lot of personal heat for making this movie and this movie helped to get legislation passed into law, allowing the public access to the offical JFK Assassination Writings under the Freedom of Information Act.

This is a must see if you are a critic of the Warren Report and the offical version of what I believe was the worse crime ever commit on U.S. soil by our Black Operator's in our CIA Covert Paramilitary Apps. / Special Op's (not including the event's of 9-11).

Bobby (2006,  R)
Bobby
During the 1960's no man was more talked about then Bobby (Robert F. Kennedy). As the former U.S. Attorney General under his brother (John F. Kennedy) Administration, Bobby became one of the most respected and hated Political Leader's in America. By 1968 Bobby had moved on from the events of 22nd November 1963 (The Assassination of his brother JFK) and his clashes with the new President Lyndon B. Johnson and his Administration. Bobby decided to make a run at the White House only after Johnson refused to accept a second term as President of the United States from the DEMS. Bobby used this as an invitation to run and win the Democratic Nomination for President and had he lived would have won in an landslide against GOP hopeful Richard M. Nixon in November 1968. FYI: This movie is more about individual people then about about Bobby Kennedy. People who's life were changed by his acts and actions and people who would have elected him to office in November 1968. This movie has an all star cast and is a must see for all Bobby Kennedy fans.........

JFK II: The Bush Connection (2003,  Unrated)
JFK II: The Bush Connection
While this documentary provides interesting opinions and theories, it lacks the real best evidence needed to establish a firm connection between George H. W. Bush and the John F. Kennedy Assassination on November 22, 1963. It is a common fact that George H. W. Bush had connections with O.N.I., C.I.A., F.B.I. during the 1960's, it is also possible that his father (U.S. Senator Prescott Bush) provided George H. W. Bush with the political connections, financial network that lead to his being elected Vice President in 1980, 1984 (under President Ronald Reagan) and President of the United States in 1988. If anyone had the means and ability to execute a Presidential Assassination it was George H. W. Bush. In order to prove this theory you would have to start with a comprehensive investigaton of Allen Dulles, J. Edgar Hoover, E. Howard Hunt, Richard Helms, Richard M. Nixon, Lyndon B. Johnson. Then and only then can you link the F.B.I., C.I.A. Johnson, Nixon and Bush White House to the John F. Kennedy Assassination and it's cover-up.

JFK Assassination Files: The Case for Conspiracy (2003,  Unrated)
JFK Assassination Files: The Case for Conspiracy
The member's and supporter's of the Warren Commission should never watch this movie...........
7
Nixon (1995,  R)
Nixon
A excellent movie about a very compicated man.

Richard M. Nixon was more then a President, he was a symbol of all the things that are wrong with the GOP........
8
The Rock (1996,  R)
The Rock
One of the best movie's ever made about Alctraz State Prision.

The Rock teams up two outstanding actor's Nicolas Cage and Sean Connery in a action filled suspense movie that deserved serious Oscar considerations.
9
Pearl Harbor (2001,  PG-13)
Pearl Harbor
A good drama, but it's lacked good acting by Big "Ben"....

Alex Baldwin plays a very good Col. Doolittle USAC, and had he not become an actor would have become an excellent US NAVAL Pilot.

This movie addresses not only the events of December 7th, 1941, but the lives that were lost and forever changed by it's occurance.

In short, boys who were friends as children, became hardened war hero's as adults.

The Doolittle raid did more for American Moral, then the war itself.............
10
We Are Marshall (2006,  PG)
We Are Marshall
As a former Football Player, I don't know what I would have done had I lost all my Team Mates do to an airplane crash.

This was a movie about a team, about a college, about a community of people and about what we as human being should remember and do in lite of such a tragic event.

Excellent Movie, a must see if your an ex-Football Player (High School, College or Pro) or just another College Football Fan.

Marshall University went on to have successful season in the years following this tragic accident.

WE ARE MARSHALL should be considered for BEST PICTURE during this years OSCAR'S.

Varsity Blues (1999,  R)
Varsity Blues
Nothing in the world compares to Texas High School Football.
12
Friday Night Lights (2004,  PG-13)
Friday Night Lights
The most entertaining High School Fototball Movie ever made. As a former Football Player (ROLB, QB), I played many games on Friday Nights. I still remember a speech my old Head Coach made, "this game is a game of inches, during this game you must take those inches. If you play with heart and determination you will prevail, for failure is not an option." Football was one of five sports I played (Football, Baseball, Basketball, Soccer, Hockey), but nothing can match the rush you get running out on the field and seeing your teacher's, class-mates, parents and friends glued onto your every move. This movie shows what a team, school, community can achieve when you believe, winning is not the most important lesson here. It is team work, the love and respect a player has for their team-mates, school, community and for the great game of Football.

Any Given Sunday (1999,  R)
Any Given Sunday
This was one of the best smash mouth movies ever produced about Professional Football.

Al Pacino make's a dam good head coach (very old school), in light of what the team ownership was doing they found a way to win with an in-experienced QB (played by Jamie Fox an up and coming star in his own).

But anyone who has ever played Football will tell you, in the trenches real men do battle. This movie not only shows you the trenches, but what happen's inside the meat grinder.

L.T. was my favorite Outside Linebacker growing up, I copied every move he would make in my own play and became an outstanding Defensive Player.

With pro players like T.O. and L.T. and the cast of very good actor's and actresses this is a must see pics for all Pro Football Fans, Oliver Stone dips into his magic bag again.

I sure wish I had a running back like LL Cool J, it might have prolonged my Football Career.

Bottom line is Pro Football is not longer just another game, it's a very competitive business, where people lives spin out of control if they let it.

Money, Women, Drugs, Sex it's all here and as bad as that may sound that is the reality of the NFL.

Remember the Titans
The best High School Football Movie ever made.....

A Walk to Remember (2002,  PG)
A Walk to Remember
This was a very touching movie, about young love. Manny Moore was excellent, her beautiful voice and courage really made this movie great. It goes to show never judge a book, by it's cover. Never assume a person is one way, until you know better. This is a must see for any High School Student in love, it will leave a lasting impression upon your heart and soul and show you there is much to love. Love as complicated as it is can be a wonderful thing, as so long as you love unconditionally and except your lover as is and never try to change them into something that they aren't. In the end, maybe you can experience the type of love that lasts forever, in your heart, mind and soul.

Rocky (1976,  PG)
Rocky
This was Stallone's greatest feat, not only did he write ROCKY, he starred in it. This movie clearly shows what can happen (fate) no matter who you are, or where you live. Rocky was a loser by all means, until he met his soon to be wife (See Rocky II). It is through his raw determination against a well respected and beloved Heavyweight Champion (Apollo Creed played by Carl Weathers), Rocky goes the 15 round, taking alot of punishment along the way. The fight scene's in this movie were very real, real enough that fight fans like myself felt we were watching a real Heavyweight Championship Fight. Nothing aids a fighter like "HEART", his ability to use fear to his advantage and to win with heart. Yes Rocky looked like a pizza after this fight, but he still went the distance and that says a lot about this man's metal. Yes this is a must see and a Oscar Winner (BEST PICTURE).
19
Rocky II (1979,  PG)
20
Rocky III (1982,  PG)
Rocky III
My favorite of all the Rocky movies and in this one Rocky really has to change his thinking, his bad habits (using his face and flat feet), tactics (blawling, not boxing) to win.

Mr. T gives this movie a great person to hate, but at the same time his treatment of Rocky harden's him into a piece of clay that Apollo Creed then molds into a very deadly weapon.

I grew up with this very poster on my bedroom wall, behind my close door's I would pretend to be him.

A true champion must have the heart to do battle and in this movie Rocky does, as he overcomes the loss of his Manager.

In the end Rocky and Apollo Creed become best friends as they prepare to win back Rocky's Heavyweight Title from Mr. T.

The boxing desplayed in this movie reminds me of classic Mohammad Ali, as he gabbed and danced (a.k.a. stick and move) his way around the ring scoring punch after punch.

Stallone made six (6) Rocky movies, this was by far the best in my expert opinion.

EYE OF THE TIGER

Rocky V (1990,  PG-13)
22
Rocky IV (1985,  PG)
23
Rocky Balboa (2006,  PG)
Rocky Balboa
This Rocky Movie was hard to read at first (had to see it three times).

To have his wife die, his life change, he's aging but the fire is still burning in his oven.

The fight scene's were good, but not classic Rocky.

I perfer the Rocky in Rocky III.

Even with all of these things happening in his life, he welcomes an invitation fight the Heavyweight Champ (in an exibition bout).

Rocky accepts and I believe he did to proove his manlihood and courage are still in tact.

And just like ROCKY has always done, he took it to him from round one till the end, combinations and power punches that could wake the dead.

To bad Stallone has to get old, I was looking forward to a yearly Rocky.....

Rambo (Rambo IV) (2008,  R)
Rambo (Rambo IV)
Not as good as the first, but this comes in a close seond. The addition of Sam Elliott and others makes for a more believable story line.
28
Dances With Wolves (1990,  PG-13)
Dances With Wolves
This is the best movie I have ever seen about the new founteer.

In this movie Kevin Costner's character (a decorated War Veteran) ask's to be stationed in the founteer.

It is there that he is unighted with his future American Indian Family.

The worst part of the movie is the end, when he and his new Indian wife must say goodbye to their family and freinds to protect them against attacks by the U.S. Army Calvary Unit's looking for their alledged deserter / traitor.

This is a great movie to watch if you have ever wondered what life was really like back then.........
29
Field of Dreams (1989,  PG)
Field of Dreams
With vintage James Earl Ray and Kevin Costner, this is the type of movie a father and son must see together.

In this magical corn field several life time dreams are forfilled, I believe that in our hearts and mind we would all love to venture there.

The sport of Baseball has survived the times and as America steam rolled through the 20th Century, Professional Baseball was always there.

With the race card out of the mix, player's like Jackie Robnson helped to form a more color friendly MLB League.

But the true story here was the return to Pro Baseball by a man few people know and his name was Shoeless Joe Jackson of the Chicago Whitesocks.

In the years following allegations of team gambling (during the World Series) by the Whitesocks and the llifetime ban from Professional Baseball of several members of the Whitesocks including Shoeless Joe goes to show that not all the best player's are in the Hall of Fame.

And as the story line goes, "IF YOU BUILD IT, HE WILL COME".

My favorite part is the ending watching a "Father" and his "Son" play catch with one another.

PRICELESS and again this movie is a must see........

For Love of the Game (1999,  PG-13)
For Love of the Game
This movie talks about more then just a Perfect Game, being thrown by a pitcher at the end of his career.

It talks volumes about this man's career, his mistakes, his passions, his love, his lack of a family and his destiny. No other actor on this planet could have done a better job then Kevin Costner, who is a natural born athlete himself like wa.

For anyone who has ever wondered what is going through a pitcher's mind during such a game, this is a must see and as a former pitcher I can testify to the fact that on that mound you aren't alone.......

A Perfect Game No Hitter is so rare that if a Pitcher can do it, he is a shoe fit into the Pro Baseball Hall of Fame.

During my playing years I threw many quality games an maintained an ERA below 3.0 for over 6 season's as a middle relief pitcher.

The thought of throwing a perfect game 27 batters up 27 batters down is like a dream.

I was always the smoking gun brought in to get a strike out with men on and no outs (all business).

I could just amagine the thill this movie must have been to make for Kevin and the sacrifices he made to make it as real as possible.

This is by far one the the top ten movies ever made about MLB. And again no one could have played a more believable Billy Chapel then Kevin Costner.
31
The Natural (1984,  PG)
32
Angels in the Outfield (1994,  PG)
Angels in the Outfield
An excellent Disney movie, paring foster children, a losing baseball team and angel's that play Pro Baseball.

In the heart of every child beats a dream for something, this was his dream and if forfilled would bring his father back, in light of the success of the Angel's Team his father didn't come back.

But in the end both boys inharit a man twice as great in character and heart, who would show them that life doesn't have to fall tail to broken promises and ill will.

A great movie for your younger cousins and nephew's to see, watch and learn from.

And their are angel's in every outfield, just ask Mark McGuire and Sammy Sosa.

Good thing I'm a hardcore Angel fan right..........

Jurassic Park (1993,  PG-13)
Jurassic Park
Steven Spielberg really set the bar high on this movie. Spielberg and his chew recreated down to earth believeable Dinosuars. T-Rex was my favorite, the Rapor's were excellent too. This is a must see for all parents and their Dino loving kids. But beware it does have some bloody scene's, and for those of you who are very analitical this movie will give you data to chew on.
38
The Lost World - Jurassic Park (1997,  PG-13)
The Lost World - Jurassic Park
A good 2nd, I liked when T-Rex goes on his rampage in San Diego paying back INGEN's new CEO.

The new Dino's were good, the scene's interesting, watch out for them Raptor's.........
