Eastern Promises (2007,  R)
Eastern Promises
A gangster movie with a difference, it?s subtle, non-flashy, yet it includes all the vital ingredients and perfection of a top-notch Organised Crime film.

Viggo Mortensen was brilliant in this role, the super-cool Russian ?driver? for the son of a crime family, is slick, smart and undeniably cold. I?ve never really been blown away by Mortensen?s talents, but this role for me, showed that he can deliver an impressive performance. Cassel as always was great (and a little trivia here) took just a few weeks to learn conversational Russian for this role.

The storyline is fairly simplistic and not too ambitious as far as films in this genre usually go, yet the result is a new angle with a big impact.

This is my second viewing of this film and I was just as impressed second time around.

G.I. Jane (1997,  R)
G.I. Jane
The ultimate movie of sex equality, it does have it?s ?Holywood Action? moments, which are set to dramatic music, but this is certainly my favourite performance by Demi Moore and of course you have to admire her athletic form in this film.

Incredibly, it took me at least two watches of this film before I realised it starred Viggo Mortensen (a neme that keeps popping up recently with surprising results).

A History of Violence (2005,  R)
A History of Violence
Not quite as enjoyable as it was watching it first time around, but still a very watchable film

The Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring (2001,  PG-13)
The Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring
Ok I finally took the plunge...

Stuning views magnificant scenery and graphics, a turly magical and mystical film, however, too much of a boys film for me. I can see the appeal this has and for someone who once said that I would never watch this film as long as I live, well I feel good knowing I got through the lengthly flick.

The costumes were fabulous and of course a great set of actors too, perhaps all those things heavily overcompensated for the lack of storyline?

A Perfect Murder (1998,  R)
A Perfect Murder
The remake of Hitchcock?s ?Dial M for Murder? and a good job of it was made. Some slight variences from the original storyline, but all the important parts were included.

A story with great twists, Douglas plays rich and arrogant very well and we see a not so well known at the time Viggo Mortensen too.

A great thriller, based on love, betrayal, revenge and money.

Psycho
Watchable, don't think there was anything spectacular to this, I'm sure the original was much better
