5	No Country for Old Men (2007,  R) After a fairly slow start, there emerges one of the best films of the last few years. It takes everything predictable and turns it on its head. This film (for me) is by far the best film The Coen Brothers have ever made. There are times throughout, that I almost forgot that it's a bad man, hunting another bad man and found myself feeling sorry for the guy. The acting was of great quality and Javier Bardem played one of the best killers ever to be casted in a film. With regard to the ending, it was abrupt and maybe considered as somewhat of an anti-climax, but this to me gave the film some realism and again an unpredictability.

8	The Sea Inside (Mar Adentro) (The Sea Within) (2004,  PG-13) Some will find the topic in question a little depressing, even perhaps a little morbid, but it's dealt with very realistically and of course is a much debated issue. Really good acting throughout, particularly of course by Javier Bardem.
9	Collateral (2004,  R) Surprisingly an enjoyable film and a good performance by Jamie Foxx. An unusual role for Tom Cruise and good to see Jada Pinkett Smith in this, even if it wasn't for long.
10	Mondays in the Sun (Los Lunes al sol) (2003,  R)

12	Before Night Falls (2000,  R) Quite a difficult one to rate, as the acting was superb, whilst the film was long and drawn out. Great narration throughout by Javier Bardem, which worked well and he, as always was very impressive. The story of Reinaldo Arenas? life is certainly an interesting one, but the film does take some perseverance. A very small role here for Johnny Depp and an even smaller (almost unrecognisable) role for Sean Penn.

15	Live Flesh (Carne trémula) (1998,  R) Another enjoyable film from Almodovar. A story of betrayal, love and revenge, with some great characters.

23	Mujeres al Borde de un Ataque de Nervios (Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown) (1988,  R) Not the most welcoming of titles and the first half of the film is pretty much as you?d expect from the title, a little depressing and wondering where it?s all heading. It?s certainly not a film that builds up into a big climax, but the second half does get a little better, wouldn?t necessarily recommend it though and it?s certainly not one of Almodovar?s best.
