The Dead Girl (2006,  R)
The Dead Girl
Having not received many reviews or recommendations for this film, I thought it was sure to be a very average film and yet I was pleasantly surprised, it?s definitely my type of film.

Centred around all the main people effected when a dead girl is found and creatively chaptered, to enable the viewer to experience the effects and emotions felt by each individual surrounding the storyline, it was a unique style used for this type of film and with a good standard of Actors, this was a very enjoyable film.
2
Little Miss Sunshine (2006,  R)
Little Miss Sunshine
Another dysfunctional family brought together by a journey where everything seems to go wrong. A black comedy with enough natural humour to make it feel realist and something the viewer can relate to.
3
The Sixth Sense (1999,  PG-13)
The Sixth Sense
One of the greatest twists ever! Just remembering back to when I watched this for the very first time ? the ending was brilliant and everything suddenly makes sense. Even as a re-watch, knowing what?s to come, the film was created in such a way that almost every angle was covered. If you look hard enough and analyse everything you will come up with some flaws, but it?s such an enjoyable and clever film, the flaws are just not important.
4
About a Boy (2002,  PG-13)
About a Boy
A quirky film with some great characters. Toni Collette can look so different from one film to the next. This is certainly one of my favourite Hugh Grant films, as he?s slightly less typecast in this film than most of his others. There is a really nice underlying message to this film.

Easy watching, fun in parts and emotive in others.
5
Muriel's Wedding (1995,  R)
6
Like Minds (Murderous Intent) (2006,  PG-13)
Like Minds (Murderous Intent)
Not your usual kind of murder mystery, it was a little slow moving, but really had depth to it and was really an interesting story, in an ?Inspector Morse? style investigation.

An impressive performance from Toni Collette (who just seems to get better and better) and Eddie Redmayne who really gave the character substance.

Overall, a really enjoyable watch, let down slightly by an anti-climax ending.
7
Changing Lanes (2002,  R)
Changing Lanes
Two men from very different background meet by chance, when their cars colide, the result brings both men the day from hell. A very good performance from Samuel L. Jackson as per usual.

VERDICT: Worth a watch, but don't rush out and rent

Toni Collette is someone to me, who has grown hugely as an Actress, which I never would have guessed could happen at the beginning of her career. With some great performances, I'm looking forward to working through the rest of her filmography.
