The Woodsman (2004,  R)
The Woodsman
Whilst taking on a theme that people usually unite together in hatred against, Kevin Bacon takes on the brave part in possibly his best performance of his career.

Not an easy subject to tackle, especially when we are seeing it from the flip side of the coin, yet the storyline is based on the power of suggestion as opposed to graphic content, yet still manages to create a psychological discomfort for the viewer.

Interesting Drama that will leave you questioning the moral dilemma throughout and the people?s views envolved.

Stir of Echoes (1999,  R)
Stir of Echoes
it's this type of film that has made Kevin Bacon a more interesting actor in the last few years. This is a reallygood film from start to finish, the supernatural dealt with in a natural way. Clever storyline.

VERDICT: A definite recommendations, certainly my favourtie Kevin Bacon film
3
Sleepers (1996,  R)
Sleepers
Just my all time favourite film, another re-watch.

Even though it is an all star cast and each play great roles, the best performance in this film has to go to young Joseph Perrino.

A film of child abuse, corruption, religeon, domestic abuse.

The story is told in 2 parts, one as the 4 young boys going to a correctional facility for a prank that went horribly wrong and the second part, revenge.

In addition to this it is believed to be based on a true story
4
Hollow Man (2000,  R)
Hollow Man
A great edge of your seat Thriller/Horror. Kevin Bacon plays evil impressively in this well cast film, which combines Science and endless possibilities when things begine to spiral out of control.

The use of effects in this film are outstanding and really create the atmosphere of the story.
5
Murder in the First (1994,  R)
Murder in the First
A rewatch, enjoyed it much better than my first viewing, interesting to learn about Alcatraz and the story was inspired by true events.

Kevin Bacon plays a very good role in this as a petty criminal imprisioned for a small crime, who suffers bad treatment at the hands of the prison staff..

VERDICT: Those who have interest in the true stories/prison filsm will enjoy this film
6
Mystic River (2003,  R)
Mystic River
Directed by Clint Eastwood and boasting an all star cast of some of Hollywood?s most talented Actors. This is Hollywood minus the Hollywood glint, it?s down to earth, believable, with some impressive performances all around, in particular, Tim Robins, Sean Penn and Marcia Gay Harden.

This Murder mystery, turned vigilante storyline is tough, raw and deeply personal.

The brilliance of the film is that it doesn?t just build to a climatic ending, there are some pretty big things that happen throughout the film that make a huge impact.

One of my favourite films that I have watched over and over.
7
A Few Good Men (1992,  R)
8
Death Sentence (2007,  R)
Death Sentence
This had the potential to be a really good vigilante, revenge film, with a promising start, sadly the story soon fell into a predictable storyline, with some of the action feeling a little far fetched for the type of film that it was. I also found John Goodman's part pretty laughable.

The whole film seem way over the top, but on a good note, it still held my attention to the end.

Friday the 13th
Without doubt one of the worst hyped horrors of the 80?s. No doubt my curiosity will want to follow this series through, in hope of them progressing, otherwise I can?t understand why it would receive such a memorable status.
I will give it just one credit and that is, it did make me jump at one particular point, I think you'll know it when you see it.

For me Kevin Bacon is a great example of someone who has evolved and grown during his acting career. He's no longer the Actor we remember him to be in the 80's, in place has become a more serious Actor, whose roles and performances have been more intense and interesting.
