Control (2007,  R)
Control
A little slow moving, but this biopic of Joy Division?s front man Ian Curtis' life is realistic with some enjoyable performances.

I don?t claim to be a Joy Division fan and therefore can?t comment on the accuracy shown by the Actors in this film. For me though Samantha Morton really stood out in this.

Worth the watch, but fairly drawn out.

In America (2003,  PG-13)
In America
At first impressions this film seemed to be quite slow moving and didn't seem to be heading in any particular direction, however as the storyline progresses you become emotionally involved with the intense performances by the whole cast.

Paddy of course is my favourite British actor and is the master of versitility, Samantha Morton, probably one of England's best actresses, but the person who really stood out in this film for me and has in other films recently is Djimon Housou. I can also not pass the opportunity to priase the two girls in this film who really showed great acting skills.

Directed by Jim Sheridan and based on events in his life, the extra features make interesting viewing and are worth taking a look.

Minority Report (2002,  PG-13)
Minority Report
The storyline of this film is very good.
4
Enduring Love (2004,  R)
Enduring Love
This film was slightly odd, in that there wasn't a great storyline, it's more about the events after a balloon crash and how it effects the main characters, however the quality of the acting particularly from Daniel Craig, but also from Rhys Ifans and Samantha made this film intriguing and worth watching

The Libertine (2006,  R)
The Libertine
Johnny Depp and Johnny Vegas in a film together, hmmm. I'm quite mixed on my feelings toward this film as both Johnny Depp and Samantha Morton took great parts, however, the shock factor in this film is the language used which is not expected in a period piece, which I found pretty school-kidish.

There is a physical transformation that took place before the end which was well done. Overall I don't think I was as impressed as most, as this seems to be a popular film with others.

VERDICT: Can't say I'd really recommend this film, but watch it if it comes your way

Samantha Morton is an Actress who has made her way up through British TV Drama and ventured into Hollywood, but her talents are definitely best kept to British film and TV acting.
