A very watchable film, a great performance by Kathy Bates

This film oddly describes itself as a Comedy, but if you?re looking for a film to add some cheer to your day, this really isn?t it. It?s a depressing Drama with the odd comedy moment thrown in.

Jack Nicholson does give (as always) a very good performance, as does Kathy Bates, whom I really admire for doing the nude shot. It was the storyline, that for me really doesn?t appeal too much to anyone who isn?t in their age range.

Being a bit of a Spiritual soul myself, I did find the spiritual part of the storyline very stereotyped, however, it probably was the most uplifting part of the film.

Titanic is very typical of the Big Hollywood Blockbusters that I usually avoid until all the hype is over.

It is without doubt a huge scale film in every sense of the word and seems to have his equal share of fans and critics alike.

Of course the effects and the computer generated images are the fascination of this film. The love story of course, made for the interesting sub-story and added sentimentality when flashing back to the older Rose.

Sadly for me, Dicaprio will be remembered by many for this film alone, when his acting capabilities are above and beyond the role he played here, that being said the characters were enjoyable and of course made for a great star crossed lovers kind of story.

Surprisingly a very good story, with sad parts. I'm quite shocked that this got a 12 certificate as I think there are a couple of bits in there for children that may seem a little eerie. A good original story.

A good story, but a tad drawn out. It?s not a typical Stephen King but Kathy Bates certainly made it one of the believable ones.

There were several parts of this story that were portrayed well, from raising awareness of the condition itself, to both view points of sufferer and family. There were times when the film could have been a little more interesting and seemed more like a made for tv type of film ? but interesting none-the-less.

One of the best Feature length Cartoons in the last few years. It will inevitably be compared to the likes of ?Antz? and ?A Bug?s Life?, but in my opinion, it has a much better storyline to it.



Watch out for the guest appearances, which adults may find comical.



Child or Adult ? A very enjoyable movie.
