Murder by Numbers (2002,  R)
Murder by Numbers
I love this film and have watched it over and over, Ryan Gosling and Michael Pitt play great roles as young school kids plotting a more than perfect murder.

I much prefer seeing Sandra Bullock in this kind of film and of course co-staring is British Actor Ben Chaplin.

No boring parts, cleverly written and there are great twists.

Funny Games (2008,  R)
Funny Games
I had hoped to watch the original first, however, this was certainly a a much enjoyed re-make.

Some great performances here particularly Naomi Watts and Devon Gearhart (who took the part of the son), who certainly in one scene did a great job. Michael Pitt as always plays sinister well in a quiet psycho type way.

What I like most about this film is the lack of explanation and justification behind it and the lack of analysis of the characters. The audience participation added to the creativity of the piece.

Interesting, enjoyable and pretty unique.

The Dreamers (2004,  NC-17)

Last Days (2005,  R)
Last Days
The appeal for this film is that, although it?s not based on the actual events of the last few days of Cobain?s life, it was at least inspired by them and therefore seemed an interesting topic to me.

Here?s where it all goes horribly wrong. The DVD cover describes the film as ?Brilliant? and ?A Modern Masterpiece?, strangely I can?t identify with either of these descriptions. Unlike (I?m sure) many, I was utterly bored by the whole film, the whole thing was a huge disappointment to me.

I can?t quite work out how this was an award winning film, honestly I think I would have had more fun watching paint dry.

I definitely feel like I?m missing something here!!!

Bully (2001,  R)
Bully
An extreme decision made by a group of teenagers for an extreme case of bullying. Based on a true story
6
The Village (2004,  PG-13)
The Village
A most peculiar film, which was saved slightly towards the end and by the performance of Bryce Dallas Howard, unfortunately the promise of Edge-of-your-seat chiller was certainly lost on me. The fact that I made it to the end was good enough for me. It has to go on the 'Awful films' list for sure

VERDICT: Wouldn't even recommend this as an ok movie

Michael Pitt has a sinister quality to his roles, that come across well, with his quiet manner and boyish looks, Pitt is a fascinating Actor, but I can't exactly put my finger on why.
