Sin City (2005,  R)
Sin City
An amazing film with regards to the graphics, this really was like a comic strip coming to life. A huge star cast, the most impressive character for me being Marv.

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998,  R)
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Sorry, I know this is a popular favourite, but I found this film boring. The character taken on by Johnny Depp was brillient and there were some funny moments but I thought the storyline was pretty weak
4
Traffic (2000,  R)
Traffic
I was really expecting some kind of over the top, Hollywood action film and was pretty impressed to see a more serious, quite realistic type of film, with great acting. Don Cheadle is fast becoming one of my favourite actors.

Admittedly this film has it's boring parts, but made quite an impact in other parts.

The Usual Suspects (1995,  R)
The Usual Suspects
Billient, still as good today as when I first saw it, great twist, great cast, great story.

VERDICT: One of those films you will see in any film fanatics collection
6
Snatch (2001,  R)
Snatch
With part of the same cast as Lock, Stock and of course appearances by Brad Pitt and Benico Del Torro, this film shares the same principles of Lock, Stock, whilst raising the stakes. Themed with unlicensed fighting, this film takes you into a part of the criminal underworld, rarely shared. The characters are again developed well and intertwine nicely and comically.
7
The Pledge (2001,  R)
The Pledge
A much better film than I'd thought first time around, the haunting music throughout sets the atmospheric mood with a subject that is not easy to tackle.

VERDICT: A definite watch if it comes on tv.
8
The Hunted (2003,  R)
9
Swimming with Sharks (1995,  R)
Swimming with Sharks
Another fine performance from Kevin Spacey, although I'd have to admit, I'd never heard of it.

An enjoyable watch of a Dog eat Dog world of show business and the people who 'used' in the process to reach the top.

A humourous look at mental torture and humiliation in the film business.
10
The Fan (1996,  R)
The Fan
De Niro is an obsessed Baseball fan, whose love for the game, sees him doing unbelivable things to meet his sporting hero.

This doesn't seem to be one of De Niro's more popular films and admittedly it's not at the top of De Niro films, but I think it was a pretty good performance, we see him go from your ordinary guy to psyhcopath in a short escalating time. The film does have slightly drawn out moments but is a passible Thriller.
11
Basquiat (1996,  R)
Basquiat
An oddly compelling tale of an Artist, I had no previous knowledge of. The main character was very likeable as and with quite a star cast, this film does have entertainment value. It is based on the true story of the Artist and watches the rise and fall of the man.
