Amores Perros (2001,  R)
Amores Perros
Utterly brilliant! Completely worthy of all it's praise. If you like films where various stories intertwine then this is an absolute must.

The acting, the plot and pretty much everything about this film was gritty and realistic.

VERDICT: You do need patience with this film, but one I definitely recommend people to see

The Motorcycle Diaries (Diarios de Motocicleta) (2004,  R)
The Motorcycle Diaries (Diarios de Motocicleta)
After a drawn out beginning, there unwinds a much more meaningful tale. It would be easy to give up on this one near the start, but feel it?s worth sticking with.

My biggest disappointment was watching it on Film 4, where they failed to put up all the sub-titles and left periods of speech un-interpreted.

Bad Education (La Mala educación) (2004,  NC-17)
Bad Education (La Mala educación)
A bizarre tale, which was a little confusing at times, but of course all makes sense eventually. It possibly requires more than one viewing though to really put the pieces of the puzzle together correctly.

Very typical in the sense of Almodovar though, to bring us an unusual topic, which many Directors wouldn't have delved into.

Y Tu Mama Tambien (2001,  R)
Y Tu Mama Tambien
This film is a sexually charged adventure for two teens and an older woman. Whilst the focus of the film is of a sexual nature with fairly explicit scenes, there is also a more hidden serious point to the film too, but to be truthful, how many people are going to pick up on that?

Babel (2006,  R)
Babel
Had absolutely no idea what this film was going to be about, but with so many recommendations I had to watch it.

My only complaint about this film, if any, would be that it was ever so slightly drawn out, however I'm not sure the desired effect would happen if it wasn't. The film itself reminded me of 'Crash' in the style of the filming, but not by content. The storyline is actually a very simple one, but very cleverly done.

I've seen many a sub-titled film, but not one that shows more than one language being spoken.

There was one particular part, I thought was especially good, when filming as if through the deaf girl's eyes.

VERDICT: A fantastic film, unlike any other storyline, give it a watch, I shouldn't think there would be many dissapointed with this one.
