Rollerball (2002,  PG-13)
Rollerball
The 2001 remake of Rollerball is more an action than a philosophical-type movie like the original 1975 one was.

The plot and characters are basically the same.

Chris Kline, LL Cool J, Rebecca Romijn-Stamos and Jean Reno star in this John McTiernan directed movie.
5
Mad Max (1979,  R)
Mad Max
This classic Australian hit movie was one of Mel Gibson's first.

Upon release in 1979 it was a huge success and made all of it's money back at the Aussie box-office. When it was released in the U.S. it was dubbed by american voice over artists because the distributors feared American audiences would not understand the thick Aussie accents.
6
Mad Max 2 (The Road Warrior) (1981,  R)
Mad Max 2 (The Road Warrior)
If the Mad Max series had ended here it would have been a better end than that Beyond Thunderdome that came after this.

This one has Max Rockatansky (Mel Gibson) in a desperate search for some fuel, befriending a group of people who run an oil refinery. They agree to give Max some fuel if he defends them from a group who wants to kill them and take the refinery for themselves.

Heart-stopping action and a very urban and futuristic look make this movie possibly the bes in the Mad Max series.
7
Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (Mad Max 3) (1985,  PG-13)
Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (Mad Max 3)
The Mad Max trilogy ends on a very weak note due to the loss of Byron Kennedy who died in a helicopter crash while scouting locations for the movie.

George Miller, the director of the first two only directed the action sequences in this one as he hired someone else to direct the rest of the movie.

The best scene is the fight in the Thunderdome.
