actor 7: bruce willis movies

  1. sanjurosamurai
  2. danny

bruce willis is definitely one of my favorite actors, mostly because he just ends up in films i really enjoy. sometimes his performance may not even be what stands out. I have probably seen more films featuring willis than any other actor.

1
Die Hard (1988,  R)
Die Hard
this is really the action flick that all other directorsof action films wished that they had made. the formula was perfect and willis was a great fit. the best action flick of all time.
2
Unbreakable (2000,  PG-13)
Unbreakable
helps you see what super powers might look like in reality. a story that teaches us that all people have an untapped potential that most of us ignore completely. when we find our gifts, we can do great things. must see.
3
Die Hard 2 (Die Hard 2: Die Harder) (1990,  R)
Die Hard 2 (Die Hard 2: Die Harder)
almost as good as the first. underrated and excellent action flick
4
Lucky Number Slevin (2006,  R)
Lucky Number Slevin
this movie was great, made me like lucy liu
5
Last Man Standing (1996,  R)
Last Man Standing
this film was always good, but its better if you see yojimbo. that is the 1960 samurai flick that this story came from. this one follows that one well, and putting a mafia twist on it was a fun way to see the story.
6
The Sixth Sense (1999,  PG-13)
The Sixth Sense
i just watched this for the second time and first since its release. my feelings on the film havent changed much, but its great to get a reminder of how good something is. the cinematography was great and the story well told. although this is one of my least favorite shyamalan films, its one of his better executed movies for sure. great film.
7
The Fifth Element (1997,  PG-13)
The Fifth Element
great sci fi, willis is good and the look of the film is great. a little silly while being adventurous and exciting.
8
16 Blocks (2006,  PG-13)
16 Blocks
i really enjoyed it, mos def was great in this flick
9
The Jackal (1997,  R)
The Jackal
pretty good assassin movie
10
The Astronaut Farmer (2006,  PG)
The Astronaut Farmer
i loved this movie but i was fairly conflicted while watching it. in some regards the main character was a great family man concerned about his family above all else. in other regards he put his own dreams before the well being of his own family in a major way. ultimately it was a good family film and a delight to watch. you really root for the guy to get to space the whole time and they didnt try and tell too much story. they told what they needed to. i was suprised to see bruce willis in this film because they didnt promote him when the movie came out in theatres, he has a decently important role in this film even though it is a small one.
11
The Whole Nine Yards (2000,  R)
The Whole Nine Yards
very clever and funny, just stay away from the second one
12
The Siege (1998,  R)
The Siege
this is an excellent movie. denzel does a great job as usual of taking a decent movie and making it better with his on screen presence and the plot was great. tony shaloub was also cool and him being middle eastern as an FBI agent in a movie were the bad guys are all middle eastern was a cool dynamic. great movie.
13
Hart's War (2002,  R)
Hart's War
pretty decent war time film mixed with court room drama
14
Bandits (2001,  PG-13)
Bandits
really good robbery flick, clever ending
15
Die Hard With a Vengeance (Die Hard 3) (1995,  R)
Die Hard With a Vengeance (Die Hard 3)
huge step down from the first 2. they left the great concept from the first 2 of mclaine battling terrorists in confined spaces like an airport and a building behind, and they never should have left out christmas. almost doesnt feel like die hard, just an action flick starring bruce willis.
16
Tears of the Sun (2003,  R)
Tears of the Sun
pretty good, sort of in the more 80's mold of action flick, but it was entertaining
17
Sin City (2005,  R)
Sin City
a strong story, interesting cinematography and set design, excellent music, and perfect cast would have given this film what it needed to become an instant classic and one of my favorite films. unfortunately a few vulgar, typical, and pointless contemporary movie devices plagued this film a bit to take it down a few notches to an above average film. could have been great, was still pretty good.
18
The Last Boy Scout (1991,  R)
The Last Boy Scout
pretty good action flick
19
Perfect Stranger (2007,  R)
Perfect Stranger
this was a decent film. i was into it the entire way through and some of the characters had a believable realism to them, but ultimately the end just missed something. this is a shocking ending to a film where nothing is as it seems, but elements of the unfolding of that ending bothered me a bit.
20
Live Free or Die Hard (2007,  PG-13)
Live Free or Die Hard
this movie certainly had its moments, and it was entertaining, but it was by far the weakest of the franchise. willis did a great job of reprising his role, this was most evident in the scene where we catch him arguing with himself which is a john mcclane trademark. however much of the action was contrived and fantasaical, far too over the top to be enjoyable let alone believeable, and the badguy was weak. this should have been much better.
21
Look Who's Talking (1989,  PG-13)
Look Who's Talking
good in its time, but doesnt hold up
22
Beavis and Butt-Head Do America (1996,  PG-13)
Beavis and Butt-Head Do America
actually funny, pointless, but funny
23
Armageddon (1998,  PG-13)
Armageddon
sad but kinda dopey too. good enough to watch
24
Color of Night (1994,  R)
Color of Night
interesting but silly, especially at the end
25
Over the Hedge (2006,  PG)
Over the Hedge
average, boring at parts
26
Look Who's Talking, Too (1990,  PG-13)
Look Who's Talking, Too
eh, didnt need it but it wasnt unwatchable
27
The Whole Ten Yards (2003,  PG-13)
The Whole Ten Yards
scattered and incoherant. a shadow of the first which was great
28
Hudson Hawk (1991,  R)
Hudson Hawk
i wanted to like it but it was way too silly
29
Four Rooms (1996,  R)
Four Rooms
what a terrible movie. this is 90 minutes that i will never get back. what a waste of time. this is a film about 4 rooms in a hotel where different scenes take place. the common character is the bell boy and he expiriences each room. each stupid, pointless, unrealistic and rediculous room. 4 directors worked on this film, one for each room. the only reason that im giving this movie 1 star instead of a half of a star is because one of the rooms, the one directed by robert rodriquez, had a little boy in it that was really funny. he provides a few funny moments to a very pointless film. i had many people recommend this film to me, and all it did was prove to me that quintin tarantino is very overrated.
