all in a family
movies that i've watched and i thought that they tried to tell u story related to family.. with all its ups/downs.. its sadness/happiness.. its craziness and normality.. everything that you have to face without even choosing it in the first place - family here means the one that u're born into or u made yourself :)

Pieces of April (2003, PG-13)
hate ur family THAT much? then, try to live without them.. if deep inside u know that u'ved loved them very much eventho u denied it, u'll miss em.. maybe u wont be lonely coz there are new people who could accompany u but still, there'll always be something missing. pieces of april is a simple movie with a very profound idea. it's smart and.. unique. a sick mother, an annoying sister, a dilematic father, and a fun brother, is not really easy to face with. april lives alone, one day when she finally gets to meet her family again, at first the world isnt really agreed with her plan, but then strangers help her, thats her new family anw. i always love a journey where people talk about something they dont when they stay in one place.. i must admit i kinda felt dizzy while watching it idk why, but the story really gets me. love it. anw, i never liked katie holmes, except in this movie, she's become April, not mrs. Cruise- my daughter is already famous eventho her age is still less than a year- along with patricia clarkson who plays april's mom..she's the best thing in this movie, the soul... if u like inspirational movie about family, go see it.. |

Cinderella Man (2005, PG-13)
replace the ugly orphan little girl with ugly fate braddock, they eventually will live happily ever after, but the difference is, there is no mother fairy or prince charming, in this story about cinderella who is a Man, he's helping himself, he struggle all the way from the bottom to the top. with love of and from his family, his children, and his loyal and patient beautiful wife.. i cried while watching the scene where braddock asking for money.. this movie is very good, a fairy tale based on hard reality, truly well acted by crowe (no doubt) and zellwegger (no doubt too). but i dont know why this movie wasnt that big, is that the bad timing? |

Finding Nemo (2003, G)
first, i don't really see what's cute about Nemo itself.. i almost flipped when i saw around me trying to be as cute as him, nemo nemo everywhere.. argh.. what i thought the cutest of this film was the 'u make me iiink' thing, i sure did love the little octopus.. when everyone got their laugh watching this movie, i feel like i'm the one who's crazy enuff not to laugh that long.. the story is goody goody for a family time, love from father to a son, with extraordinary animation... sure this movie will be remembered for a quite some time.. |

Little Miss Sunshine (2006, R)
blood is thicker than water.. it's not some kind of bullsh*t, it's true.. no matter how hard u get along with ur family members, no matter how they had hurt u, no matter how u've been misunderstood by 'em or on the other hand u misunderstand em completely..in the end is the family that matters... this movie is a must see family movie, especially when u thought that u need not a lovey dovey kind of story.. definitely this tells us about a dysfunctional american style family where each of its members seems to have a chance of winning some wacko of the year award.. then they're together in a journey they dont know that the end is not the destination, but the Means.. gay suicidal uncle, stop talking becoz of Nietzsche brother, hard worker so dont wanna end up as a loser father, a mother who glued them up 2gether, a grandfather who's a typical ol' in a time of anykind of war man.. and little girl who's sweet n all... no mouth kissing in this movie! grreat... it's rare though.. and i've never been grateful to hear the word 'F*ck' except for this movie.. u could always fix what's been broken, but nobody says it was easy okay... |

Life Is Beautiful (La Vita è bella) (1998, PG-13)
ok, before Benigni went more hyperactive n forgot that when in the movie, u act not just Talk like he did in Le Tigre e Neve, u have to see this movie asap.. the message is clear : life IS beautiful no matter how hard it hurts you.. this is one 'holocaust' movie that i love 'coz the others are more depressing (of course) n gloomy (i understand why tho).. the way he said Principessa, ay Dios.. i wished that someone would call me that..heehee..and the kid is so cute 1000x. who, in this world, that had watched this movie would forget how he managed to save his son by playin hide n seek? its cruel world out there n he still made the best out of it.. definitely will be a timeless movie.... |

The Children of Heaven (Bacheha-Ye aseman) (1999, PG)
this movie is so.. moving.. splendid. acted by Iranian children, it seems real, well maybe it IS real. a poor little boy trying to make his little sister happy, he wants to buy her shoes, but he's poor so nothing can he really do about it. when the chance comes, he literally running toward it, racing to a fate he's been waiting for. u gotta love the genuine feel in their actings, their smile, their words.. it's not exaggerating when this movie said they are the children of heaven coz they are.. it should ashame adults who think that life's hard so they stop fighting then they can live like in hell.. i like the scene where they're playing bubbles... hmm... |

Legends of the Fall (1994, R)
..great scenery..with a touch of history.. but mainly its about Love, Brotherhood- family, and self identity searching..soul searching.. 3 brothers with different personalities n charismas, they loved each other too bad they also loved the same woman.. brad pitt's here as Tristan is one dreamy guy but with a wild side u cant imagine, wild here is literally.. its like he's a restless soul trying to find some ways to pour his endless energy somewhere.. well the love story is good not some cheap tearjerker, this is deeper.. and i always love movies with Indian's stuffs -it's full of spirits- .. many surprises found in this movie, u wont get bored eventho this movie is long.. in d end it clearly shows that blood is thicker than water.. a family n a love story combined. completed. |

i'm no child but sure i laughed n felt joyous when i watched this movie.. altho this is so unrealistic but its still acceptable n trust me it will drive children to go to the museum (i wish i had one here like the one in this film).. at least, ben stiller's not as annoying as he was before.. watch this n u'll get many histories... |

In America (2002, PG-13)
another decent movie about family struggles.. one small family, one big dream, and many big chalenges.. no money.. why why does it have to deal with mo money no problem? it's a heart wrenching movie but at the same time, it warms ur heart too.. i love the kids, the cute little girls who dont know nothing about the difficulties their parents go thru.. but it's like they have an unconsciouss understanding not like many adults i know.. anw, djimon hounsou plays a great role here, he's kinda creepy and mysterious but he's like this magical character emerges from other world to save those girls' live.. the scene where the dad fixed the shower in a bathtub is... refreshing! u would appreciate water even more.. appreciate little things u have.. and of course, ur family for sure... |

Breakfast on Pluto (2005, R)
it's true why most times parents are blamed for their children develompent n growth, in simple words, their behavior, like or not, it's in many theories.. developmental psychology, mostly... look what his mother did to patrick when she left him gone bye bye.. he becomes obsessed with finding her, and starting to look like her (or a woman, any classy n chic woman..) .. patrick's journey is a long and unusual one.. but everywhere he goes, it seems there's no room for true love.. cillian murphy is acting so calmly i almost thought that this was his story hee hee.. his character has weird fantasies about what's really made his mother leave.. anyway, sometimes u can't see ant in front of ur eyez so this happens to this movie too when at the end he finds love he's been looking for right in his nose.. the embelishment of IRA in this quirky movie is not overrated., it kinda completes the time reminder.. anw i love the girl who plays as patrick's bestfriend.. she's beautiful... |

MirrorMask (2005, PG)
the best special effect, animation, whatsoever, movie i've ever seen.. mixed reality and imagination.. so beautiful.. the story well suited for teens.. but the pictures could be enjoyed by anykind of people from any ages who fancy dream andfantasy.. its timeless.. stephanie leonidas is so uniquely pretty and quirky.. love her! she could be white-the good, and she could be black-the bad.. if i have a chance to have all the incredible drawings, i'd kill for em... |

Big Fish (2003, PG-13)
a beautiful movie.. a movie that shows Lies can be beautiful.. lies are needed.. the white ones.. not the black/dark ones ok.. embellishment surely created to attract people and sometimes they make us happy... everyone needs to have its own legend.. its own fairytale.. its own unique story that other people dont have... a father tells about his life to his son and his son think that they're only bullsh*ts.. but in the end, he'd rather hear all those than to hear the truths, the simple n boring ones.. tim burton is really a great great director who made a whimsical movie into touch with reality.. some of the characters are somewhat weirdly exaggerated, but the scenery, the pictures are fantasies.. still this movie makes me cry in the end.. mcgregor is a boyfriend, a husband, a friend, a father, a stranger anyone could ever hope for.... |
