Sam
Charlton Heston was an American actor in film, theater and television. Heston is known for having played heroic roles, such as Moses in The Ten Commandments, Colonel George Taylor in Planet of the Apes, Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar in El Cid, and Judah Ben-Hur in Ben-Hur, for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor. In the 1950s and 1960s he was one of a handful of Hollywood actors to speak openly against racism and was an active supporter of the Civil Rights Movement. Initially a liberal Democrat, he later supported conservative politics and was president of the National Rifle Association from 1998 to 2003.

The Ten Commandments is an excellent epic film starring the late Charlton Heston. This film has a very imaginative story but the Bible can prove that it could have been true. It has a lot of fantasy scenes involved in the film like the Ten Plagues with the blood river, unhealable boils, darkness and first borns death of Egyptian families just like Egyptians were doing to the Hebrew first borns. Also, the Red Sea scene aswell when the water was split into two and there was a path for the Hebrews to walk through to get out of Egypt and through to Israel. It is told that this story took place around 3,000 years ago. Nobody knows for sure whether this film is a true story. The special effects are awesome for a film in 1956. Charlton Heston delivers one of his most famous performances of all time. It is my favourite performance from him. I think he is awesome in Ben-Hur and Planet Of The Apes. Charlton was born for epic films. He is an epic film legend. He should have had an Oscar nomination in this film as Moses as should Yul Brynner as Rameses. As much as I enjoyed this film, I preferred The Prince Of Egypt because I thought it was more detailed and more dramatic as there were more well known actors and actresses within that film. This film is definitely one of the greatest epic films of our time and I hope it always will be.

A legendary masterpiece this film is. The make-up and costumes look brilliant for a film that was made in 1968. The settings are wonderfully outlandish, and Frankin J. Schaffner makes superb use of them as a long shot chillingly establishes the isolation of the crashed astronauts, as exploration brings alarming intimations of life. Brilliant visual effects with the chases and the hunts during the film. To this day, the 1968 original has been described as everything from a definitive example of the genre to laughable 60s trash - a reputation owing more to its sequels, but which it does in part earn. It manages to be both of these things, which is why it remains such fun to watch, despite ludicrous rubbery masks and over-sensational camerawork.

Ben-Hur is an absolutely fantastic film. It is one of the greatest epic films of all time and is certainly Charlton hestons best performance. This is like a war film aswell. The chariot race is absolutely awesome. No wonder it killed some of the people involved in the race. In my opinion it was a bit too long for me. It could have been cut by at least 30 minutes. But it was still an awesome film though.

Good film!! Best Greek film I have watched!! Hades is a hilarious Disney villain because whatever he says to someone it is either funny or sarcastic in a funny way. I love it that he goes yellow when he gets angry and really bright blue when he is really happy. James Woods voice is perfect for the character. I love Danny DeVito as Philoctetes too.

Hilarious. I love the white cat he really made me laugh when I was a little kid. He reminds me of Snowbell from the Stuart Little films.

I love Tim Burton alot. But I am afraid this is Tim Burtons worst film. This film is a complete rip-off of the original classic. The make-up is really good. The action is good in this film and that is probably it. Thankfully, the plot is different enough from the original to stop it being a complete retread. And, aided by stunning set and make-up design, "Planet of the Apes" is convincing enough to portray a truly terrifying ape regime that has all the splendour and power of Ancient Rome or the Mongol hordes.
