A fantastic film. One of tensest of all time and scariest. I thought at first how can a film like this be so famous!! But now I realise that Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster's partnership in the film is probably one of the most famous in film history!! It is better than Hannibal and Red Dragon. Sir Anthony Hopkins is perfect as Hannibal Lecter because he makes Hannibal Lecter his own, by turning in ploished, psychotic turns of bonechilling menace, but we also have a huge regard for Brian Cox's stint in Manhunter; a purring big cat to Hopkins' cold-blooded crocodile. Jodie Foster is better than Julianne Moore as Clarice Starling. Cortesy of Jodie Fosters beguiling turn in Silence Of The Lambs, Starling is still the film heroine benchmark; a smart FBI recruit who exposes her soul to Lecter to save a womans skin.

Taxi Driver is an absolutely fantastic psychological thriller with outstanding performances from Robert De Niro, Jodie Foster, Harvey Keitel and Albert Brooks. Robert De Niro portrays Travis Bickle so well because he is a sort of tortured soul who turns into a complete murderous psychopath. He is so vile and cold which makes Robert De Niro perfect for this character. He plays a lot of villains and never fails to give a disappointing performance. Travis starts off as a poor man who is looking for a long hour job. When he starts his job as a New York City taxi driver he starts meeting different people and starts to hang over people who are in danger particularly when a young 12 year old child prostitute Iris steps into his taxi while trying to escape her pimp. She is portrayed by two time Academy Award winner Jodie Foster. She was only 14 in this film. Iris is a character who likes having sex with any man she meets. It is like an obsession but it is disgusting for a 12 year old girl. Her prostitute name is Easy. Pretty much all of Martin Scorseses films are rated 18 or 15 but I think this one is the most graphic out of all of his films that I have seen. This film and Mean Streets are both films that started to make Martin Scorsese one of the greatest directors of all time. This is a film noir which is what most of Scorseses films actually are. I really really enjoyed this film but I preferred films like The Departed, Raging Bull and Cape Fear. This film should have won Best Picture instead of Rocky and Robert De Niro should have had Best Actor 1976. Jodie Foster deserved her Oscar nomination aswell.

This was a film that I thought at first that I wouldnt enjoy but when I watched it I really enjoyed it alot. Jodie Fosters performance as Erica Bain was an awesome one. One in my opinion that deserved an Oscar nomination. It is hard for Erica because she doesnt want to become a killer but she wants to get revenge on those thugs for battering her up, taking her dog and most of all killing her fiancé by beating him to death. I can understand why she has killed the people she did kill. It is like she wanted to get rid of all of the bad people in the world and all of the people that act alot similar to the gang that killed her fiancé. By her doing this she begins to track down where the responsible people are to kill them all and get her dog back. She is then under alot of pressure by a police detective who is portrayed by Terrence Howard is investigating the murders of her victims. As he begins to get closer to Erica he begins to learn about how much horror she went through by watching her fiancé die. This is a great film on revenge and trying to help to stop living in the past.

I was really surprised of how good this was. I didnt have very high expectations for this film after what most of my friends on Flixster have said about it. I have to say that I think this film has been knocked down too much because of its tension, the performances and also of the dramatic twist aswell. The story is about a Aeronautics expert Kyle Pratt who boards a plane with her seven year-old daughter Julia to fly the body of her recently deceased husband from Berlin to the US. Following a small snooze mid-flight, Pratt awakes to find her daughter is missing, with no stewardesses, passengers or flight records acknowledging Julia?s existence. It is a real mystery because nobody knows whether Julia was even on board because there is no record of her at all on the plane. They think that she is a crazy woman who is pretending to find her. Well, that is basically the mystery whether her daughter actually exists. It is obviously a tense thriller but it is quite psychological and personal that goes into great depth that can make your heart beat really fast like mine did when I saw this film. Jodie Foster is really good as Kyle Pratt because Jodie looked a lot like a mother whos daughter is missing. It is quite a serious character yet a psychological character too. This film features slight acts of terrorism and threat. Sean Bean makes an appearance aswell as the Captain on the plane. One thing that spoiled it and ruined it for me was that I knew all along who the villain was because this person looked evil and scheming (not going to say because will spoil it). Apart from that, it is a great film that should be watched and tried out for everyone.
