Duh, it's a classic!

This was a pretty decent flick, even if it played loose with history. Perhaps if I were more ignorant of the facts, I would hold it in higher regard.

The actors are all convincing, and Scarlett Johnson's Mary is surprisingly sympathetic. Kristen Scott Thomas steals scenes as the Boleyn mother.

Natalie Portman plays Anne as a wicked tramp. According to history, Anne did not consummate her romance with Henry Percy, so Henry VIII was most likely her first. She did try to resist his for advances for some time before the power of becoming Queen went to her head. She wasn't always a tramp; she tried hard not to be one like her sister.

Meanwhile, Mary Boleyn of the movie should apply for sainthood. The real Mary had an affair with the King of France before wedding William Carey, so obviously she was not a virgin bride. She had a really trampy reputation and was exiled from the French Court.

I could bore you with more inaccuracies, but I mention these because the way the two sisters were portrayed was so different from how they were remembered in history.
