A lot better than i expected it to be. Kirsten Dunst is great as always. Ben Foster is pretty good as well. Martin Short is very funny as usual and that really should be reason enough to watch this film. The story is really enjoyable and i was pleasantly surprised about the whole film in general.

Bang Bang You're Dead (2002,  Unrated)
Bang Bang You're Dead
This film reminded me a lot of Elephant and I believe it was just as good but with the added bonus of a bit of an explanation to the happenings. I didn't really know anything about it but the fact it had Ben Foster in it was enough for me.
I liked that it was essentially a view from Foster's character and although he'd done something terrible, you really felt for him and perhaps not agreed with it but at least understood his actions on some level.
His performance throughout the film really proves how capable he is as an actor. He was able to have that really unstable side to him while still being sensitive and vulnerable.
Thomas Cavanagh did a really great job as well as Foster's teacher who continued to have faith in him when no one else did. An important role in the film and I feel an important role in life as well. I'm sure most people can look back to their school years and remember that one teacher who stuck out as an influence for everything they'd ever done.
I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't want to see this film. It tackles a lot of issues that need to be addressed in the world and restores just a little bit of faith.

Phone Booth (2003,  R)
Phone Booth
Really good film. At first I didn't think so. When I watched it first I thought it was a little boring and pointless. When I watched it again, I thought it was actually quite good. It's a clever film that possibly takes more than one viewing to completely understand it. Colin Farrell's performance is pretty good as well, he's the one that stands out the most. I can't stand Katie Holmes, he performance is pathetic. Forest Whitaker gives a decent performance as well. A good entertaining film.

I love cop movies and this has to be one of the reasons why. I have quite a few favorite cop films but this one has to be in the top five. Bruce Willis is just outstanding. But we shouldn't really expect anything less from him. I didn't find out Ben Foster was in this film until I watched it, and i have to say his performance was just flawless. He's a great versitile actor and this film shows it. The four and a half stars are definatly well deserved.

X-Men: The Last Stand (2006,  PG-13)
X-Men: The Last Stand
I really did hope that the third X-Men movie would be as good as the other two and while it was still a very strong superhero film, it wasn't quite as good. I find it hard to put my finger on exactly what it was, but I just preferred the other two.
All the characters we've come to love are back again, along with a few new faces as well. As always it's a pleasure to see Hugh Jackman as Wolverine as no other could possibly embody the character as he does. Once again Jackman gives a very strong performance that almost shadows any other actor he happens to be on screen with at the time. Watching him in this just reminded me why I love the character and why I can't wait for his Origins film to be released. It's got some stiff competition now that there are all these new comic book movies coming out but I'm sure two hours of Wolverine doing his thing will stand up well against any competition.
Of course Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen are back, and once again giving terrific performances together.
Ellen Page was brilliant to see as she really is a brilliant actress and it was good to see her having a lot of fun with an easy going film role, as apposed to her more emotionally driven characters.
I love Ben Foster as an actor as well and he did a brilliant job. The CGI wings were just stunning.
The special effects and stunts in this film are as excellent as you'd expect. The moving the Golden Gate bridge scene was just amazing.
Although I don't hope this film is the last we'll see of the X-Men together, it really was a brilliant way of tying everything together.
Great film that really shouldn't be missed. I waited way too long to see it.

Knew nothing about this film other than it had Ben Foster in it. I've pretty much always loved his work but just recently decided to seek out his film i'd yet to see. With this one I was really surprised. It may sound a bit shallow but the movie poster really put me off. It's so dull and it reminds me of a documentary poster. And this film is nothing like that. Actually I think this film is very underrated as i've heard virtually nothing about it and yet it was very good on all fronts.
The premise of the film is a dysfunctional family consisting of an older brother, played by Matthew Perry, who at a young age was forced to raise his younger brother and sister after his father killed himself and his mother died due to illness. Foster plays his younger brother and Ginnifer Goodwin plays his sister. To add to his problems, his brother seems to be suffering from some kind of mental breakdown and his sister directionless and promiscuous. It all starts with multiple incidents within their family which bring them all back together at the house where they grew up.
This film is very much a character driven piece and so it is quite necessary that all performances are of a high standard. And I have to say I can't complain. Perry is always solid with his performances and I find it's usually the films that he appears in that let him down. In this however, he manages to shine and I don't think I could think of another actor more suited to the role.
Ben Foster, as always, is amazing. I can't fault the guy in the slightest. He does clinically insane very well and so to, was well suited to the part.
I'm unfamiliar with Ginnifer Goodwin and I believe this is the first film of hers i've seen, and if not, well I certainly didn't notice her. But she doesn't a very good job and even in between her brothers manages to stand out as a credible and important character in the film.
I think this film has been overlooked for a little too long so I suggest people, you go and watch this little gem.
