Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind (2004,  R)
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind
I just rewatched this one, I'm sorry I didn't notice the first time I saw this, but it has to be the best film of 2004, and possibly one of the best of this decade. The best script of the decade and my favorite female performance of the decade. What else could I ask for? I can't believe I gave this one a 4 star rating... 5 stars all the way!

Nobody Knows (Dare mo shiranai) (2004,  PG-13)
Nobody Knows (Dare mo shiranai)
This film unfolds slowly but firmly into one of the saddest movies I've seen this decade.Beautiful and innocent, tells a story in such an original and refreshing way it is actually enjoyable, it doesn't matter how sad it is. Hirokazu Koreeda is a master in film-making, and Yűya Yagira delievers an amazing performance, being so young yet acting as a big performer.
I wouldn't find the exact words to recommend this movie. Go see it! Now!!

Head-On (Gegen die Wand) (2005,  R)
Head-On (Gegen die Wand)
Punk meets Turkish culture. a violent, sexy, and mature movie that shocks the viewer, but overall one of the most original romantic movies in the past years. Provocative and visually fantastic, this is a movie not to be missed.
4
The Sea Inside (Mar Adentro) (The Sea Within) (2004,  PG-13)
The Sea Inside (Mar Adentro) (The Sea Within)
Best movie in 2004. I thought Javier Bardem made the performance of his career, until I saw No Country for Old Men. Yet he's amazing in this film. So sincere, heart-breaking and makes you think for a while about life in general.
5
Downfall (Der Untergang) (2004,  R)

The Bourne Supremacy (2004,  PG-13)
The Bourne Supremacy
Superior action film! Jason Bourne comes again, still confused and seeking for answers while trying to escape from those who try to kill him. Amazing action sequences, specially the car chase through Moscow! The ending has some powerful scenes that adds something even better to the whole package!
13
Dogville (2003,  R)

My God, that scenario... Wicked, psycothic film that portraits modern societies.

Caribe (2006,  Unrated)
Caribe
Yes I'm from Costa Rica, that's why I got to watch this film when it was projected in the movie theaters, though it was our first intent to make a feature film, the fact that most of the actors are not Costa Rican was a lack of use of that "national talent" that the movie was all about. Also the story was a little rough and predictable. But I got to say, my country has some beautiful beaches and rainforests, and you can see them in this movie! :)

Napoleon Dynamite (2004,  PG)
Napoleon Dynamite
Ok, it's a silly movie, but you can't deny it has become a "classic" in comedy for teenagers. I'm going to focus on the good things this movie has, for example, good performances that are unforgettable, specially Jon Heder as Napoleon. Also, if you open your mind, you'll get a pretty good dialogue, funny and unpredictable. Also some good directing, that almost lets you without a temporal space - is it the 80's, 90's or the new century?? - The music choices are great, and even if you try not to, you'll laugh even days later. A cult movie of the 2000's!

What the Bleep Do We Know!? (2004,  Unrated)
What the Bleep Do We Know!?
Interesting topic, but poorly made. It wasn't entertaining at all, and so many themes just kept hanging over, confusing even more the audience. And, I just hate when you think it's going to end (mostly for the conclusion mood and slow pacing), but it never does!! I kept thinking "ok, it's going to end right here", but it don't. And they did that like 20 times in less than 20 minutes. Boring and unremarkable, that's my opinion.
34
Bridget Jones - The Edge of Reason (2004,  R)
35
Dawn of the Dead (2004,  R)
36
The Grudge (2004,  PG-13)
37
3-Iron (Bin-jip) (Empty Houses) (2004,  R)

Raspberry Reich (2004,  Unrated)
Raspberry Reich
This is a movie that deserves a different rating system, being underground and all. Because, the performances weren't good at all, and the script was a bit messy. But only Bruce La Bruce could transform a gay porn movie into a revolutionary calling against capitalism, consumism, and social democracies. Not to be watched by just anyone...
