Scent of a Woman (1992,  R)
Scent of a Woman 5.0 Stars
Awarded best actor for his sublime performance, Al Pacino shows that Tony Montana, Serpico, and Michael Corleone were easy adaptations for him.
The blend of drama and humour fits the screen perfectly.
The Famous Tango and the final speech are Classic scenes.

Scarface (1983,  R)
Scarface 4.0 Stars
Without a shadow of a doubt Brian DePalma's masterpiece.
Al Pacino delivers as usual a remarkable performance.
The ending scene is a classic, metamorphosing Tony Montana into one of the most important caracters in film.

The Godfather, Part II (1974,  R)
The Godfather, Part II 4.5 Stars
A very successful sequel as I might say, although still not matching the mighty original, in my personal opinion.
Marlon Brando is missed, but De Niro, Pacino, and John Cazale made that up with very good performances.
The blend of the past and present is well made.

Dog Day Afternoon (1975,  R)
Dog Day Afternoon 3.5 Stars
It was indeed A dog day afternoon for Sonny and Sal, and an even "doggier" night !
It's exiting to see Cazale and Pacino teaming up after the GodFather.
Interesting to follow through, especially that the events shown actually happened on some dog day afternoon.

Heat (1995,  R)
Heat 4.0 Stars
Maybe the best cat and mouse movie you'll ever see.
Michael Mann directing two of the best actors on the planet is exiting, without disregarding Val Kilmer's contribution.
That's a picture of quality.

The Insider (1999,  R)
The Insider 4.0 Stars
Powerful, intense, and more of all, a realistic piece of work.
The cast is perfect.
Some recall that it's a slow and long picture, but hell that ain't an action movie afterall.

Donnie Brasco 3.0 Stars
Very Average compared to movies of the same genre, recently the departed.

Johnny Depp's performance, embraced with fear all along, never convince u of pistone's real caracter who fucked the biggest mobheads in the history of mafia.

Getting to see too much of those similar thrillers doesn't thrill u nomore.
It's well acted, brilliantly directed, a good movie one can say.
But a thriller nowadays must strike with something extremely imaginative to catch the eye, and it just wasn't there.
