Deliverance
I was surprised how much I enjoyed this as I was expecting it to be one of those old classics that I respect but don't really find any entertainment in. Fortunately, it's actually a great little tale, although I think it might have lost much of its impact with age.
I wasn't expecting such a straight-forwards murder cover-up story, anyway. Good stuff.
Personal enjoyment: 7/10
Actual quality as a film: 8/10

The Spirit of the Beehive (El Espíritu de la colmena) (1973,  Unrated)
The Spirit of the Beehive (El Espíritu de la colmena)
This film is remarkable. The storyline is so mundane and yet beautiful in a way. Showing off not only just about everything it means to be a child, but also criticising the post-civil war climate in Spain at the time.
I've seen alot of praise of the cinematography, and frankly I didn't think particularly much of it. It wasn't bad, but it didn't strike me. That said, the low quality film of the 70s really gives this film a wonderful dream-like quality.
The acting is also simply incredible considering the age of the leads. They give truly adult performances, it's quite something to watch.
All in all, this film is quite something.

Personal enjoyment: 8/10
Actual quality of a film: 10/10

The Revenge of the Pink Panther (1978,  PG)

Martin
Romero's best work outside of the Dead series. It's a fairly remarkable little film that annoyingly pisses all over an idea I had for a film by being extremely similar.
It essentially brings the vampire genre to the modern age (or at least it did in the 70s). It's smart, tense and clearly not made for mainstream audiences. Watching this, you can't help but wonder what on Earth happenned to George Romero. Going from the likes of this to Diary of the Dead... deary me.
The film is an interesting exploration of aspects of the human psyche, but also works as a bit of vampire fun. Take your pick.
One of the best serial killer movies I've seen.

Personal enjoyment: 7/10
Actual quality as a film: 7/10
17
Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975,  PG)
18
Monty Python's And Now for Something Completely Different (1972,  PG)
Monty Python's And Now for Something Completely Different
There really should be more films like this.
19
Time After Time (1979,  PG)
Time After Time
A movie in which H.G. Wells travels through time to the present (well, 1979) in persuit of Jack the Ripper starring Malcolm McDowell as H.G. himself. What's not to love?
It's great fun. Not hugely original -it's a pretty standard fish-out-of-water comedy, but hell. Malcolm McDowell + time travel + Jack the Ripper = brilliant.

Personal enjoyment: 8/10
Actual quality as a film: 7/10
20
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1977,  G)
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Legend of a kid's film.
21
Monty Python's Life of Brian (1979,  R)
22
The Omen (1976,  R)
23
National Lampoon's Animal House (1978,  R)
24
Soylent Green (1973,  PG)
25
Superman (1978,  PG)
Superman
There's something so incredibly warm and charming about this film's special effects. It's a great film, slightly better than Superman returns.
26
Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977,  PG)
27
The Muppet Movie (1979,  G)
The Muppet Movie
I never really understood why The Muppets were so popular before I saw this.
28
Don't Look Now (1973,  R)
Don't Look Now
Well it's all just a pointless bit of foreplay leading up to an awesome twist, really. Yes I understand the messages and such in the foreplay, I just don't care about it.
29
Les Douze travaux d'Astérix (The Twelve Tasks of Asterix) (1976,  Unrated)
Les Douze travaux d'Astérix (The Twelve Tasks of Asterix)
As an Asterix fan, I really enjoyed this. It's the only Asterix movie I can whole-heartedly recommend.
30
Jesus Christ Superstar (1973,  G)
Jesus Christ Superstar
Doesn't live up to it's potential, I mean, our school production was 10 times better than it in most places (though this beat it in a few scenes), but hell, it's not bad, and a handful of songs are done brilliantly.
31
Young Frankenstein (1974,  PG)
32
Rocky (1976,  PG)
33
Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977,  PG)
34
Blazing Saddles (1974,  R)
Blazing Saddles
It's fairly funny and was clearly quite groundbreaking in ways back in the day, but it's a little too cheesey. It doesn't hold a candle to The Producers.
35
Rabid (1979,  R)
Rabid
More early Cronenberg.
36
Carrie (1976,  R)
Carrie
Good cheesy fun.
37
Halloween (1978,  R)
38
Apocalypse Now (1979,  R)
39
Manhattan (1979,  R)
Manhattan
Well written but ultimately nothing happens, and not in the good Clerks. kinda way.
40
Let Sleeping Corpses Lie(Non si deve profanare il sonno dei morti)(Don't Open the Window) (1974,  R)
Let Sleeping Corpses Lie(Non si deve profanare il sonno dei morti)(Don't Open the Window)
Brilliant in aspects and easily the best Italian zombie movie I've ever seen. Great atmosphere above everything else.
41
Hair (1979,  PG)
42
Duel (1972,  PG)
43
Shivers (They Came from Within) (The Parasite Murders) (1975,  R)
Shivers (They Came from Within) (The Parasite Murders)
A fairly interesting and entertaining piece of work.
44
The Exorcist (1973,  R)
45
The Deer Hunter (1978,  R)
46
The Omega Man (1971,  PG)
47
The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975,  R)
48
The Vault of Horror (Tales from the Crypt, Part II) (1973,  R)
The Vault of Horror (Tales from the Crypt, Part II)
Very enjoyable even if it is a bit crap. It's all very predictable and extremely cheesey but it's hard to not enjoy it; at least elements of it, anyway.
The last segment in particular is very fun, one of the best Tales of the Crypt segments I've seen out of all the films and the episodes of the show I've watched.
Not an incredible film but not too bad either.

Personal enjoyment: 6/10
Actual quality as a film: 5/10
49
Grease (1978,  PG)
50
Beneath The Planet Of The Apes (1970,  G)
