Grungey gangstas, hipster mobsters and a lotta philosophers make up the '90s. Quite a ways the industry has gotten, enit?

Fight Club (1999,  R)
Fight Club
As I watched this flick again, I've jumped to a conclusion: this is the best film of the '90s. Might type s'more laters... ^_^
2
Pulp Fiction (1994,  R)
Pulp Fiction
Coolest fuckin' movie ever made. Everybody's favourite, or at least one of theirs. Overrated? Hardly... remember: Forrest Gump won Best Picture that year, as well as Best Director and Best Actor. Anywho, Pulp Fiction: full of great performances, lovable dialogue, hilarious and memorable moments... one of the greatest movies ever created. Just watch and become enthralled by such a unique film often intimidated to this day, some cheap, or some actually decent (such influence on modern cinema). Anywhoodle, great movie, one of my all-time favourites.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991,  R)
Terminator 2: Judgment Day
Classic... just a fuckin' classic.

Short Cuts (1993,  R)
Short Cuts
One of the greatest movies ever made. Although I've never read any Carver stories, this film makes me want to. Altman is a master of setting up characters that make them realistic. Epic in length, unfolds like a book, huge ensemble of actors/actresses that deliver, and great stories. Despite its length, it leaves me wanting more. Great, great movie. Highly recommended for any movie freak.

Beauty and the Beast (1991,  G)
Beauty and the Beast
Perhaps Disney's best film to date. The animation is great (bring back 2-D animation!!), the story is a simple and sweet fairy tale, and the music is some of the best I've heard in a Disney film (especially the opening song); insanely catchy that even Mr. Burns spoofed "Be Our Guest" with his "See My Vest." Voice acting is great (shows how studios shouldn't rely on a-list actors every single time). Belle is my personal favourite Disney princess (cuz she loves to read!). For a guy who's display pic has Otto and considers Memento his favourite film, this is one of my all-time favorite movies. In fact, it's in my top ten. Effing great movie. :p Weird how, as a lil' kid, I didn't like the film, but now, I luffs it all sick. ^_^

Boyz n the Hood (1991,  R)
Boyz n the Hood
Perhaps the only film I can think of that perfectly depicts the inner struggles associated with many American lives. More than just a movie about Black problems or simply gang violence... it's a movie about problems stirring in America then, and even now. :(

Probably type more laters...

Schindler's List (1993,  R)
Schindler's List
Considered Spielbergo's masterpiece (I point to Jaws). Powerful and tragic retelling of the Holocaust almost too painful to watch more than once. Heartbreaking movie, certainly one of Spielbergo's masterpieces.
8
The Thin Red Line (1999,  R)
The Thin Red Line
Heavily shunned by Saving Private Ryan, but this movie is a tad better. Psychologically displays the horrors of war, similar to how Apocalypse Now once did, but look down deeper for more philosophical themes between war, life and death. Don't expect another Saving Private Ryan. And yes, I understand that it is a tad flawed in editing and mere cameos by Travolta and Clooney (the trailers showed them in top billing), but oh well... doesn't deter the fact that this is a great film. Highly underrated classic. Best film of 1998.
9
GoodFellas (1990,  R)
GoodFellas
Scorsese's other masterpiece. One of the greatest movies ever made... will write more later. ^_^
10
Scream (1996,  R)
Scream
Fun horror flick which reshaped the genre either for better or worse. Somehow it just seemed to have gotten a helluva lot better...
