Raging Bull (1980, R)
The way Martin Scorsese depicted the life of Jake LaMotta was Flawless. I liked that he didn't make him look like a hero but as what he really was. I would say this is Robert De Niro's best performance. The way he got in shape for the role of Jake LaMotta in his prime and then got super fat for the older LaMotta is just jaw-dropping. I couldn't believe it was DeNiro when i saw him that fat. I would have to say that this is tied up there with Daniel Day-Lewis's performance in My Left Foot as the best performance of all time. |

Edward Scissorhands (1990, PG-13)
I just saw this movie again and i loved it the same as the first time i saw it. Johnny Depp's performance is amazing and unique. Tim Burton really has a mind way out there, all his movies have some crazy ideas. The movies music is by far one of the best, but of course the amazing Danny Elfman composed it so what can you expect. I hadn't seen it since the mid 90's and it still manages to captivate me. |

Awakenings (1990, PG-13)
Two of the best performances i have seen from these two great actors. Robert De Niro is amazing in this movie and his acting is extremely believable. Robin Williams should have also been nominated for best actor in this movie, he really is one of the best actors ever. With two great performances like these there is no doubt this movie is a classic. Oh and its based on a true story and i guess i have a thing for movies that are based on actual facts. |

In the Name of the Father (1993, R)
A roller coaster ride of emotions. This is definitely one of the best movies ever made. Daniel Day-Lewis gives a performance that leaves no doubt that he is one of the greatest actors ever! This true story will leave you with your mouth open. The unfairness this family was given by the government is just awful. Definitely tied up there for my favorite movie of all time. |

Casino (1995, R)
Great performances from the whole cast. De Niro and Pesci make a great couple in this movie. I really loved how De Niro would narrate on his point of view on the situation and then Pesci would come in and narrate too. It was very interesting, especially the camera angles at times (the camera inside the straw while someone was sniffing a line). My type of movie. "and thats that." |

Heat (1995, R)
By far one of the best movies i have seen and it definetly is on my top 10 list. Al Pacino and DeNiro are an amazing on screen pair. Michael Mann really created a masterpiece with his creative camera angles and raw filming. The whole cast did a great job. The very extensive gunfight scene in this movie is the best i have seen. Loved it and i am going to buy it as soon as i can. A must see and must own movie! |

Capote (2005, R)
I haven't seen acting this good since i saw My Left Foot a couple months back. Philip Seymour Hoffman does an amazing job as Truman Capote. He just continues to amaze me in each movie i see him in. He really is moving up there in my list of favorite actors. His role can become really annoying, with that weird voice and gay gestures, but you can't leave out the fact of how great he does the role. The movie does tend to get boring at times and i do admit to almost falling asleep once but the story is great and the acting superb. With a mixture like that you can't fail to have a great movie! |

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006, PG-13)
Way better than the first one! Everything about this movie was great. The special effects were flawless and one of the best i have seen yet. The make up and the clothing worn by the actors were perfect. The scenery was so good it causes you to drool. It has the best sword fight scene i have seen since Kill Bill (not comparing by the way). A very creative movie that is the must see movie of the summer. So good i've seen it twice! |

Hard Candy (2006, R)
A movie that is on its own level. I hadn't seen anything like it and i doubt that anyone would have dared to make something like it. The acting is amazing especially from Ellen Page who i hope to see in more movies. The fact that the movie was filmedin 18 days shows how the director knew exactly what he wanted. I enjoyed this movie so much that i am planning on buying it as soon as i can. Highly Recommended! |
