Terminator 2: Judgment Day
Surpasses T1 in every way making it one of the few sequels that are better than the original, and also making it one of, if not THE best sequel ever.

Halloween II (1981,  R)
Halloween II
Good continuation of the first film, but nowhere near as perfect as the first. Michael Myers is more demonic in this one, which I found to work in this one. The atmosphere in the darkened and closed up hospital is a great place for Michael to work in, and gives out lots of tension to the audience.

A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 - Dream Warriors (1987,  R)
A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 - Dream Warriors
Getting back on track, Wes Craven and Frank Darabont write a much superior sequel than most (definitely better than the 2nd film). Freddy is scary and funny in the right way, the acting is very well done by Miss Langenkamp and the others, although some of their dialogue is pretty dumb at times but, it can be forgiven. The only other real complaint I have is that obviously the film can't surpass the original, and the pacing may be a tad slower at times than some horror fans won't enjoy. Overall, this is one of the best horror sequels I have seen in a while, and I totally recommend for Freddy and Horror fans.

Hellbound: Hellraiser 2 (1988,  R)
40
A Nightmare on Elm Street 4 - The Dream Master (1988,  R)
A Nightmare on Elm Street 4 - The Dream Master
Although never rising above Dream Warriors, The Dream Master still works as a successful sequel. Although the acting is pretty silly and Freddy is starting to lose his dark nature, the enviroment in which he stalks still retains some of that nature (the church at the end is very gothic and I loved it). Renny Harlin made a great Freddy film and its flaws can be easily forgiven with the right mindset.
41
The Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers (2002,  PG-13)
42
Gremlins 2 - The New Batch (1990,  PG-13)
43

44
Star Trek VI - The Undiscovered Country (1991,  PG)
45
The Mummy Returns (2001,  PG-13)
