Wild Wild West (1999,  PG-13)

King Kong (2005,  PG-13)
King Kong
Was a entertaining flick, but Peter Jackson needs to take an editing class. I felt like every scene in this film went on about 30 seconds too long. Cut out that extra time, and you have an excellent film. Note to Peter: Longer doesn't always mean better.
3
The Mummy Returns (2001,  PG-13)
4
Reign of Fire (2002,  PG-13)
Reign of Fire
So much anticipation, so little enjoyment. Wanted it to be so much better. I've seen it twice more, hoping that it somehow got better since I saw it last.
5
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003,  PG-13)
6
Hook (1991,  PG)
7
Planet of the Apes (2001,  PG-13)

Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003,  PG-13)
Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World
Not nearly as good as the reviews made me think it was. Russell Crowe's proper English accent was irritating, and it just didn't hold my attention. I saw an ad for this film, told myself "I need to see that," then remembered that I HAD seen it. Not a good sign.

The Flintstones (1994,  PG)
The Flintstones
Good sight gags, but Rosie O'Donnell was seriously miscast as Betty Rubble. I always saw Betty as the hottie wife of the neighborhood, not a fat, frumpy mom.
10
Van Helsing (2004,  PG-13)
Van Helsing
So disappointed in this. After The Mummy was so good, I thought Stephen Sommers could pull this off without a hitch. But lots of CGI effects can't make up for character development or a storyline that makes some kind of sense. But at least Hugh Jackman takes his shirt off.

Shadow of the Vampire (2000,  R)
Shadow of the Vampire
Another disappointment. Not that the film was bad. It was actually OK, although nothing spectacular. And I enjoyed the reworking of Nosferatu. But this film is WAY too short. The beginning credits seem to go on forever, which makes it seem even shorter. And near the end, just when it started to pull together, it just ends. Maybe there will be a director's cut that is better.
12
Godzilla (1998,  PG-13)
Godzilla
Piece of crap and big waste of money. Matthew Broderick was totally miscast, and some of the plot points are ridiculous and completely goes against anything you know of Godzilla.
