I only had hateful things to say about this movie the first time I saw it. However, I decided to give it another watch and found it absolutely amazing! It may have been due to the fact that I missed the first five - ten minutes or so. I can't seem to get into a movie when I miss the very beginning.

28 Weeks Later...
To be honest, I was rather disappointed. The first 10 minutes or so was intense, (even gave me chills), but it went downhill after that. I did enjoy certain elements; mainly the gore, and the scene where Robert Carlyle turns into a zombie, but the plot was just ridiculous. '28 Days Later' is ten times better than '28 Weeks Later.' They canned the story and simply added a lot more action, which works for some people I suppose. I'm not going to lie though. It was entertaining. I was just expecting more, that's all. - The soundtrack is excellent!

I had absolutely no desire to watch this, and expected it to bomb big time. The only reason I did see it was because it was free on my television. To be honest, it wasn't nearly as awful as I had imagined. A mindless, entertaining flick aimed directly at teenagers. Sure, at times it became rather cheesy, and the acting was quite bad, but I still did enjoy it. It's definitely one of those "so bad it's good" movies. It really reminded me of a David DeCoteau film, only with a much larger budget.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning
Absolutely no thought went into this. It was almost like the writers were being forced into adding the little details that explained certain things about the characters. Take the guy in the wheelchair for example. He gets shot in one knee, so the sheriff tells Leatherface to saw it off. But you notice how in the other film he has both legs gone. Hmmmm, how does this happen I wonder? "Balance." He must be balanced off. So, naturally, Leatherface saws off the other leg as well. OH. MY. GOD. Now, I did laugh at this, but only because it was a completely brainless effort.

Saw IV (2007,  R)
Saw IV
Dare I say it? I walked into Saw IV with exceptionally low expectations, and was astounded to find that it actually wasn't too bad. Now, it's not like I'm going to be shouting this from the rooftops or anything, but the fact of the matter is, I did enjoy it. What's peculiar is that I am by no means one of those extreme Saw fanatics! I absolutely detested the second one, and the third was tolerable, but the fourth is, without a doubt, the only good Saw film since the first! Some of the flashbacks are completely unnecessary, and even begin to make me feel stupid. It's like they assume that the audience is not capable of comprehending the simplest of things, or that we do not remember anything about the previous Saw films. On a more positive note, the opening autopsy scene was beautiful, and I really did like the fact that Saw III and Saw IV take place at roughly the same time. The editing was a bit shitty though, especially towards the end. Can't say I was too keen on that new detective feller either. Police officers always make for really annoying characters on the big screen. I was very pleased to see that Donnie Wahlberg did not have much on-screen time! I'll be honest; I was a little concerned when I saw that he was in it. The less we see of that man in cinema, the better. I have nothing against the rest of the cast of Saw IV. It was actually quite nice to see Justin Louis playing a role in this film. He was brilliant in the Canadian television series, Durham County, that was on earlier this year. Anyhow, I do sense a need for Saw V, but I really wish this franchise would have been over and done with by now. I suppose I'm just not a hardcore SAW fan. That's not to say I won't watch the V and VI installments, because I am pretty sure that I will. Alas, they clearly have me wrapped around their little finger.

The Midnight Meat Train
Oh my God, where do I begin? Clive Barker is a damn fine storyteller, but this is a super weak attempt at translating his work to film. Definitely have to give Buhler props for turning an original story into a painfully generic piece of shit! I'll admit, I was into it for a little while. There was a pretty decent amount of blood and guttiwuts, but the characters were all so fucking dull! That is, except for Vinnie Jones, who muttered one single, solitary word throughout the entire film, and yet, still remained the most intriguing character of them all. So, basically the cast is shit. (Not including Roger Bart, of course, whose screen time was cut far too short). For the record, I CANNOT STAND BRADLEY COOPER!!! He is so irritating. I just want to punch him in the face. And Leslie Bibb, whom I haven't actually seen in anything before (and hopefully never will again), was annoying as fuck!

Okay, so the movie was a pretty big disaster, but the story was interesting. I found that it kind of dragged on at times though, and I even think it would have worked better as a short film.

It was still worth the watch, at least.
