I love this movie. I have watched it so many times!

Only a mild Bollywood touch, but if you have never seen a Bollywood movie before, this might seem a bit outrageous and corny to you. Its a lot of fun, and although its completely modernized, they managed to keep the storyline faithful. The main differences that I noticed was the conversation where Mrs. Darcy tells Lalita to stay away from her son is missing, but it did make it onto the DVD as a deleted scene. It was a great scene. And also, when Lakhi (super cute girl) ran off with Wickham, Darcy didnt save her by paying for a marriage, but by punching Wickham a few times and bringing Lakhi home, which was also a great scene. In today's day and age, it is not as much of a disgrace for a girl to disappear for a few days, and the situation was salvagable without marrying her off .

It would be hard to have a modernization of P&P set outside of India. I am only slightly curious how they managed to do it in the 2003 version.

The Bollywood actors' acting seemed a little melodramatic compared to the American actors, with the exception of Naveen and Indira who have more experience with American acting. But it didnt seem bad because that's just the way Bollywood is. It was just more noticable with a mixed cast. The only acting complaint I actually have is with Alexis Bledel, who is perhaps the most famous person in this movie, but all her scenes made me cringe. She is terrible! I knew there was a reason I didnt like Gilmore Girls.

And although I really love the Keira Knightley version of Pride & Prejudice, the best adaptation of the story I have seen (and I have seen four, not including Bridget Jones), there is one thing this movie has over it, besides my personal affinity towards flashy musicals. The whole cast is way more attractive. :) Bonus! Oh, except for maybe Wickham. Rupert Friend is pretty darn cute.

A stunning and lavishly produced movie. Everything was gorgeous; the locales, the wardrobe, the dances, and the two leading ladies. The story was beautiful too, but horrible at the same time. It was a tragedy of almost epic proportions. Have a kleenex box or two ready. It will be an unforgettable experience.

Stunning, visual masterpiece, with a touching story. But the ending leaves you a little wanting. Although, I think it was the best way for things to turn out, it wasnt done as smoothly as the rest. Still excellent.

Actually pretty good if you are looking for a chick flick.

This is the first Bollywood action movie I have seen. It was outrageous! It reminded me of the first Fast and the Furious and The Transporter, which is probably the best you could hope for in a Bollywood action movie. There was also a fight scene on top of the trailer of an 18-wheeler extremely reminiscent of The Matrix Reloaded, which is not a good thing considering this movie is not set in a virtual reality. But its all in good fun. With hot actors, great music, and lots of comedy mixed in, this is great for the not-so-serious moviegoer.

A great historical war drama with a love story included for added depth. It was good that it only had an occasional song, and they were well placed, so not to ruin the serious tone of a historical drama. As usual, everything is beautiful; sets, costumes, music. I enjoyed it, but was not as amazed as I often am by Bollywood movies. I found the politics of the story a little hard to follow, although that could be due to poor translation.

This is definitely not for everyone, but I really enjoyed it. I love action/comedy combos, even if this went a little overboard sometimes, like the Cosmos Kick and the little whirlwind he made at the end. It would have been better without those outrageous "Kung Fu Hustle" bits, but it was still a great mix. Love the blend of kung fu and big Bollywood musical numbers. Some great action, a gorgeous cast, and a decent story. And I always enjoy a nice 'zero to hero' story.

A very cute couple who cant stand each other and take forever to realize they are in love. The songs and dances didnt really stand out, but the story did. I love Rani Mukherjee. It was very similar to typical Hollywood chick flicks, storywise. Also, it was rarely set in India and people were usually not wearing traditional Indian clothes. If it wasnt for the fact that it was in Hindi, and there were occasional musical numbers, you might not even notice it was a Bollywood movie.

I cant believe I watched this.
