Not the best Imamura,but it certainly takes a blow and vanquishes anyone who assumes it's just another "love story",spiced up with the delicate romance.Negative.As always that viciously talented Japanese master explains to us the simplicity in fantastic tendency for unreal.Unreal for the unimaginative ones.Yakusho is excellent in an unusual role as the man who meets his match: an orgasmic "gift". |

The usage of challenging montage and hews aren't an important advantage of this Godard flick.Le dialogue probablement to semi-quote another movie.Naturally,incorporating novels/poetry in the midst of affection and ashes of past loves brings new reactions from both critics and investigating audiences.Condemning the U.S. on past events isn't our problem as well.It's repetition.Godard's films are so clever,it's impossible to rate them fewer than this (unless they're heavily experimental?),I just felt he was cockier than before. |

I aspire to become familiar with Hsiao Hsien's film package,in a greater degree through his past movies.His independent mambo derives a swaying emotion and a texture of images brimmed with poetry no matter how many neon lights appear.There should have been a more "undercover" mystery in all this,it's an obvious fact this girl's loneliness pushes her endorsed senses.The 2000's is a new era for Taiwanese cinema and Hsien. |
