Manufacturing Consent - Noam Chomsky and the Media
An excellent documentary feature about Noam Chomsky, describing much of what he stands for, some of what he is like and some of what he has gone through in regards to sharing his knowledge with the general public about the nature of an overcontrolling government and its ways of keeping us blind to how our lives are being shaped and controlled. Noam faces criticism by many for humbly sharing his perspective and knowledge and standing for free speech. Excellent, everyone should see this.

Knowledge IS power!!! WATCH THIS MOVIE and you will be doing some good for yourself!!! I wanted to cry all throughout it, it is unbelievable how inhumane a country that you think is the best place to live on earth actually is!!!
I think I'm going to move to Europe, or am at least extremely glad to be Canadian!! Michael Moore has done an excellent job of showing us the facts.

An Inconvenient Truth
Though personal touches are added to this which makes it seem to digress at times, Gore states evidence of our ignorance common sensically. In the end he left a hint of hope that we can change our actions for the better, but I felt that there is more creativity needed to adjust our way of life and more ideas for change should be put forth.

God Grew Tired of Us: The Story of Lost Boys of Sudan
An excellent documentary! :)
It is amazing how hard working, virtuous, soulful and true to their families these lost boys are! There is something precious there with these boys which our western world has lost, even though we may be able to provide for things these boys dont have.

The U.S. vs. John Lennon (2006,  PG-13)
The U.S. vs. John Lennon
Wow! A good look at John Lennon after he met Yoko and left the Beatles to make his own music, build a family and make a statement about the war that will move the people towards peace! I didn't know much about Lennon before this, so I found it very moving! And I think Yoko is one cool chic

Joyeux Noël (Merry Christmas)
A ceasefire is called on a particular front during WWI. Beautiful music. A touching concept for a movie. Let's not do war ever anymore! If we only had Christmas in our hearts always... I expected a little better but still good!

Hairspray (2007,  PG)
Hairspray
heck, i wanted to see the original first, but it just didn't happen. Funny that John Waters, the original writer and creator of the original Hairspray film was the 'exhibitionist' at the beginning of the film for a breif cameo. hehe :)
REALLY entertaining movie! :) I was AMAZED and felt deep respect for John Travolta! WOW!! Good for him! A movie with strong comments about prejudice and beauty! :) Fun, inspiring, upbeat, delightful, colourful, feel-good! :)

Lars and the Real Girl
Despite the fact that this looks like my boyfriend's movie.... (the one he was planning on making the year this one was filmed and he lives in Toronto where this movie was filmed out of ... ) I liked this film. Perhaps it was merely conincedance that two movies had the same idea for a main plot. Regardless, this movie was nominated for best, most original, screen play at the oscars!!
I have to say that it was well written, well acted and well made in every way. I love this movie...

Saw this in 3D and it was AMAZING! One of the best movies i have ever seen! YOU MUST go see this in 3D or at least on the big screen. It is WONDERFUL! :) EVERYONE should see this movie, it has an important message that we always seem to forget, how intimately connected we are to the earth and how we should honour and respect that. It portrays issues around racism, war, and human advancement. A very thoughtful movie. I never get tired of this storyline! :)

It is a fantastically created film. I can't imagine the artistry and the amount of hours of work put into this to make it look SO GOOD! Awesome! I bet this will bring in the Oscars this year.
My new favourite! :)

It is like a hyperactive version of FERNGULLY set in the future... :P
