Are We There Yet?
I just watched this (Dec 16 2007) and thought it was a very funny and very enjoyable.

Ice Cube did a great job here and so did the kids and they all worked well together. Sure it's daft but that's what makes it so much fun :D

I also liked the Christmas feel to the movie without going overboard.
4
Bad Santa (2003,  R)
5
Batman Returns (1992,  PG-13)
6
A Christmas Carol (1984,  PG)
A Christmas Carol
I love this version of 'A Christmas Carol'

George C Scott makes an excellent Scrooge and having the movie being filmed on location rather than in a studio gives it a better feel. It's also got a very nice score.

A classic story and a very good version from the 80's

"Spirit, what perversity is this? I've asked to see some emotion connected with that man's death... and you've shown me only greed, and malice, and apathy! Let me see some TENDERNESS, some... DEPTH OF FEELING!"

The Christmas Shoes (2006,  Unrated)
The Christmas Shoes
Well Christmas is here again so I've started off my christmas movie watching season with this movie starring Rob Lowe.

My sister told me this was a really sad movie and boy was she not kidding, this movie pulls at the heart strings like you would not belive at times.

I found it a bit much to take at times though, as the subject matter of 'death' does not make for a happy movie. It pulls at the heartstrings a bit too hard for its own good and will leave you dreading the day the same things happens in your family or you'll be remembering back to when it already has.

It's one of those movies that makes you want to cherish every moment with your loved ones and hope they do the same for you. the thing is though, this movie is fighting a losing battle because we as a species are a heartless and uncaring bunch of selfish gits.

Christmas with the Kranks (2004,  PG)
Christmas with the Kranks
This was the first movie I picked to kick off my month long Christmas movie marathon 2007 (dec 1)

OK! So this was not the best movie to start with, but it's pretty funny at bits and it does look and feel very Christmassy in the last 30 mins.

It's a bit daft though and feels a bit like an episode of the Outer Limits

I'll Be Home for Christmas
Sometimes a movie comes along that you think to yourself "this will be utter tosh". Well this was one of those movies but after I watched it, it became an instant Christmas fave. Probably in my top 5 all time fave Christmas movies and I have watched it every year for what? 8-10 years now? on TV then for the past few years on DVD.

I love the on the road feel to it, Jonathan Taylor Thomas is a very likeable guy in this so it makes it easy to enjoy the fun that this movie delivers.

Oh and Jessica Biel :D

Surviving Christmas (2004,  PG-13)
Surviving Christmas
My second movie (2nd Dec 2007) this Christmas.

A movie that was ripped to shreds like Christmas paper on Christmas morning by the critics. They would have you thinking this movie was a lump of coal... Oh how wrong they are because this movie is a christmas cracker.

I can see why people would hate this movie, if you hate Ben Affleck (and a lot of people do) then this movie is not for you so move along... Still here? Ok then let's continue.

I picked this movie up as a blind buy 2 years ago on DVD cheap. I really was not expecting much, but this turned out to be as enjoyable for me as Christmas Vacation. Maybe that was a one off, so this year I watched it again and I still think the same. This movie is bloody ace... There I said it. It's ace, so there you bunch of Bahhumbugs.

Very funny, very christmassy and very feelgood... It just hits all the right notes with me and that's why I'm going to give this movie 5 stars.. Yep you read that correct. 5!!!! Stick that in your Christmas pipe and smoke it Surviving Christmas haters.

Oh and Christina Applegate.. So that's 6 stars out of 5 then ;)
57
Trapped in Paradise (1994,  PG-13)
58
Turbulence (1997,  R)
Turbulence
It's christmas eve, there's a 747, Ray Liotta and Lauren Holly and that's pretty much the movie. Ray Liotta is on top form in this, he plays the good/bad guy so well and in this movie he's a total fruit.

This movie is so far fetched, but if you turn off your brain you might just enjoy this Christmas movie... Well it's not really a Christmas movie, but it's set on christmas eve and there's christmas lights in just about every scene in the movie and you have It's a wonderful Life in the background showing as the in flight movie.

Catherine Hicks and Brendan Gleeson are wasted here with sweet f all to do and hardly any screen time, and it seems strange having this huge plane for about 15 people. The setting works well though and it always feels like it's christmas thanks to the million lights all over the plane.

It's a silly movie, but it's one I always enjoy and one of the better 'on a plane' movies.

"Wait a minute, wait a minute. You've got a 747 beat to hell by level 6 turbulence, your flight crew is dead, you've got an armed convicted serial killer loose on board, eight passengers have disappeared, and your stewardess is locked in the goddamned cockpit. Have I left anything out?

While You Were Sleeping (1995,  PG)
61
The Christmas Star (1986,  Unrated)
62
The Nightmare Before Christmas (2008,  PG)

Sleepless in Seattle (1993,  PG)
Sleepless in Seattle
Tom Hanks is great in this, Meg Ryan is great in this but the kid that plays Toms son is just rubbish.

It's a chick flick but it's a movie I love to watch at Christmas... I need to watch When Harry Met Sally now :D

Pitty Meg Ryan is nowhere as nice as she is in most of her movies. Just shows how good at acting she is ;)
