A History of Violence
I watched this movie for the second time last night. This is one of those pictures that gets better with repeat viewings. Expertly directed by David Cronenberg with terrific performances from the entire cast. Viggo Mortensen is perfect, truly one of the best leading men today. It's a real mind-job of a movie.

Batman & Robin
I love Batman, but this movie is just so fucking stupid. George Clooney plays Batman like a fucking queen, Chris O'Donnell does nothing but whine like a bitch the entire time, and Arnold Schwarzenegger is ridiculously leaden, even by his standards. However, the worst thing about this movie has to be Alicia Silverstone, whose Batgirl is one of the most embarrassing things I've ever seen in my entire life. Uma Thurman is cute, but nothing special. It's nothing but a big, loud, dumb ad for action figures. And what the hell is up with that scene with the gorilla costumes? It has to rank as the most unsexy striptease I've ever seen.
