The Dark Knight (2008,  PG-13)
The Dark Knight 5.0 Stars
This is superb follow up to BATMAN BEGINS with stellar performances all around with the stand-out beinbg the late HEATH LEDGER. His take on the JOKER is so original, there is nothing to compare it to.

We saw the IMAX presentation and the IMAX sequences we stunning and dizzying.

AARON ECKHART's HARVEY DENT/TWO_FACE is right out of the comics. The supporting cast are individually excellent.

The action sequences are well staged. The stunt and pyrotechniques crew deserve OSCARS for this one!!!!

KUDOS to CHRISTOPHER NOLAN for having Chicago double for GOTHAM CITY. It's a perfect fit.

I wonder what they're going to do for the third installment?

Batman Begins (2005,  PG-13)
Batman Begins 5.0 Stars
Chris Nolan's reworking of the Batman mythos, taking a straight-forward view of the duality of Wayne/Batman It also goes into thje true background of Wayne: college educated, degrees in chemistry, criminology, etc. It was the Batman movie we'd all waited to see.

One of the most imaginative fantasy/comic book movies I've ever seen. Del Toro is brilliant and Ron Perlman's a hjoot!

Spider-Man 3 (2007,  PG-13)
Spider-Man 3 4.5 Stars
My problem with super hero movies like this is too many villains packed into one film. If the studios and producers are expecting a franchise, they shouldn't try to blow it all in one movie. Sam Raimi, though, has done an excellent job bringing Spidey to life and to the screen.

Spider-Man 2 (2004,  PG-13)
Spider-Man 2 4.5 Stars
Slick and well executed follow up to the original. Raimi made Alfred Molina's Dr. Octopus just sympathetic enough for the audience to care about his fate. But, guys, why keep killing off classic comic book villains? Maybe you should actually do some research the next time out.

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007,  PG)
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer 3.5 Stars
Slightly inferior to the original, but the introduction of the Silver Surfer (Hellboy's Doug Jones) is great.

Fantastic Four (2005,  PG-13)
Fantastic Four 4.5 Stars
Although they messed about with the origin story (Dr. Doom was disfigured in a college lab accident when he and Reed Richards were school mates and blamed Richards for the accident) it was pretty good. Chiklis stole the show as Ben Grimm/The Thing and Chris Evans Johnny Storm was spot on.

Jim Carrey and movie before it's time. This was the film that made people understand that Carrey's a walking cartoon!
