1
The Dark Knight (2008,  PG-13)
The Dark Knight
I'd been looking forward to this for a very long time and i wasen't disappointed. Extremely well written and acted, and a lot darker than I imagined it to be. It makes all the other superhero movies look a bit silly in comparison
2
Watchmen (2009,  R)
Watchmen
Excellent movie. Beautifully shot, with stunning action sequences. I loved how the story was well constructed, with each character given plenty of depth. Not having read the novel, I never felt alienated or confused, and I didn't realise I was at the cinema for 3 hours until I left,
as it was easy to get lost in it. Watchmen is not to be missed.
3
Spider-Man 2 (2004,  PG-13)
Spider-Man 2
Great movie. Spider-man 2 is a lot better than the first. The story is more exciting, and the directing is a little more crisper than in the original. I loved the set pieces, especially the train scene, and Alfred Molina stole the show as the villain, Dr. Octopus.
4
Akira (1988,  R)
Akira
Great movie. The animation was astonishing, and the story was unique and very creepy at times. I loved the action scenes, particularly the motorcycle chases and the gun fights. Although we're now used to seeing graphically animated movies like Shrek and WALL-E, AKIRA's beauty is it's rawness and honesty.
5
Batman Begins (2005,  PG-13)
Batman Begins
Great movie. The Batman character is given new depth, through Christopher Nolan's wonderful adaptation. Although I loved the Tim Burton movies, Batman Begins gave the sense of realism and grit that I'd always been looking for. Bale is great as the lead, and is backed up by an A-List supporting cast, including Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Laim Neesan and Gary Oldman.
I hope Sam Raimi takes notice, and maybe the next Spiderman will be more like this.
6
Iron Man (2008,  PG-13)
Iron Man
Great fun. Nice balance of humor, action and storytelling. Downey Jr is the perfect choice and so is Jeff Bridges as the baddie. Although the Dark Knight was a better movie this was a lot more entertaining.
7
X2 (2003,  PG-13)
X2
Great movie. X2 gives the characters a little more depth, and a lot more action. Again all eyes are on Wolverine, but the introduction of new characters is skillfully done, and the story is well written, with a great finale.
8
Spider-Man (2002,  PG-13)
Spider-Man
Although a lot more character driven than it's sequel, it still packs a punch.
9
Batman Returns (1992,  PG-13)
Batman Returns
Good sequel. Obviously Catwomen being the highlight.
10
Hellboy II: The Golden Army (Hellboy 2) (2008,  PG-13)
Hellboy II: The Golden Army (Hellboy 2)
Very entertaining. With wonderful characters and a nice balance of humour and action, its definitly a must see.
11
X-Men (2000,  PG-13)
X-Men
Good movie. Director Bryan Singer's patient character development is all worthwhile, in this superior comic book adaptation. The characters are brilliantly cast, and a nice balance of drama and action in maintained throughout.
12
Hellboy (2004,  PG-13)
Hellboy
Great movie. With stunning visuals, a fun script, nasty villains, and a solid storyline. Hellboy is great fun.
13
Batman (1989,  PG-13)
Batman
Good movie. Tim Burton stays true to the comic book, with his visuals, and characters. Michael Keaton may have been a strange choice as the caped crusader, but he manages to convince, but it's Nicholson's Joker that steals the show, as he overshadows the dark knight.
14
V for Vendetta (2006,  R)
V for Vendetta
Good movie. I loved the premise, and all the characters. Natalie Portman shines as our heroine, and there's solid support from her co-stars. It did lose it's way a little in the middle, but it finishes of strong.
15
Superman (1978,  PG)
Superman
The original, and the best. Great story, exciting, well acted, and above all, true to it's comic.
16
A History of Violence (2005,  R)
A History of Violence
The mysterious premise of this movie is wonderful, and the realism in the performances are owed to the amazing direction of director David Cronenberg.
17
Superman II (1981,  PG)
Superman II
Impressive sequel. Superman 2 may lack the visual effects of today, but the story rises above it's age difference. Terrance Stamp is excellent as the evil General Zod, and the script is full of satire and quick humour.
18
Sin City (2005,  R)
Sin City
Loved how the stories interweaved. Mickey Rourkes the man.
19
The Mask (1994,  PG-13)
The Mask
Jim Carrey firmly cements his Hollywood career, with this hilarious family comedy.
20
The Incredible Hulk (2008,  PG-13)
The Incredible Hulk
I'm a fan of the Hulk and was one of the few who liked the first one. Nortan and Tyler give sensitive performances to Banner and Betty and theres enough rampage by the big Guy too. Definitly worth a look.
21
Addams Family Values (1993,  PG-13)
Addams Family Values
Better than the first.
22
The Crow (1994,  R)
The Crow
Good movie. The Crow is a lot darker than most other comic adaptations, and it benefits from pushing the genre that little bit further.
23
Superman Returns (2006,  PG-13)
Superman Returns
Great on the big screen. A little too long and dull on the small screen. Brendan Routh was an excellent Superman though.
24
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003,  PG-13)
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
Good movie. It's only major flaw is the story. Your expected to know all the individual characters, and there are half a dozen to contend with. But the movie is great fun, with impressive special effects and action. And in the end you'll be searching to find out who they actually were.
25
Batman Gotham Knight (2008,  Unrated)
Batman Gotham Knight
This is a great ac compliment to the latest Batman movies. There are 6 short stories about the Dark Knight, done with stunning animation. I particularly enjoyed the first and last one.
26
Punisher: War Zone (2008,  R)
Punisher: War Zone
Great fun. Ray Stevenson is a great choice as the Punisher, and 'The Wire's' Dominic West is as good as the comic villain. Although there is very little depth to the story, the action scenes were impressive. So if you want over the top action, and gruesome violence look no further.
27
Men in Black (1997,  PG-13)
Men in Black
Great fun. I loved the story and all the wonderful characters. Smith and Jones are great together, as they strike up an unlikely chemistry.
28
300 (2007,  R)
300
Good movie. The visuals are stunning, and the action scenes are amazing. And although their are solid performances throughout the cast, the story doesn't give the actors any real depth to work with.
29
Kôkaku kidôtai (Ghost in the Shell) (Shell Mobile Force) (1996,  R)
Kôkaku kidôtai (Ghost in the Shell) (Shell Mobile Force)
Good movie. I can see why it's revered as a modern classic in it's genre. But I personally found the story and dialogue confusing, as a lot of it's complicated sci-fi mombo jumbo. But for the most part I loved it. It was very well directed, and the action scenes were expertly done, with some very original ideas. It is a genuine must see for fans of MANGA or Sci-fi in general.
30
Constantine (2005,  R)
Constantine
Good movie. Loads of great characters and special effects. Keanu is semi believable as the hero, and the supporting cast of Rachel Weisz, Tilda Swinton, Dijmon Hounsou, gave him solid support. I also liked the story, and I thought the twist at the end was very clever.
31
Blade (1998,  R)
Blade
Great movie. I loved the story, and all the great characters. Snipes is awesome as Blade, and the movie's filled with great action and special effects.
32
Hulk (2003,  PG-13)
Hulk
A bit too long and melodramatic. But still has a lot of action and smashing fom the big man.
33
Blade II (Blade 2) (2002,  R)
Blade II (Blade 2)
Great movie. Director Guillermo del Toro adds his style and imagination to this worthy sequel. Snipes is of course excellent as Blade, and loved the inclusion of more characters, especially the one played by the great Ron Perlman.
34
Appurushîdo (Appleseed) (2004,  R)
Appurushîdo (Appleseed)
Good movie. Although I felt unengaged by the movie's storyline, the stunning animation made up for it. The battle scenes and visuals were spectacular (particularly in the first 5 minutes), with lots of cool Sci-fi weaponry and futuristic landscapes.
35
Ghost in the Shell 2 - Innocence (2004,  PG-13)
Ghost in the Shell 2 - Innocence
Good movie. A lot different to the first movie, with the story taking a more suspenseful, detective root, than all the all guns blazing original.
I thought certain scenes were far too long (especially in the middle where the go to the mansion), the ending was confusing, and the huge use of philosophy was very annoying at times.
However the animation saved the day, as this is pure eye candy, with some of the best visuals I've ever seen in this genre.
36
The Addams Family (1991,  PG-13)
The Addams Family
Great fun, with wonderful dark humour.
37
Dick Tracy (1990,  PG)
Dick Tracy
Good movie. With a great cast and nice production, Dick Tracy is a solid movie. But it's a little dull.
38
Flash Gordon (1980,  PG)
Flash Gordon
One of the best so bad it's good movies. Flash Gordan is good fun, with it's absolutely ridiculous story and bizarre characters. Max Von Sydow seemed to have a great time playing the evil Ming the Merciless, as did the rest of the cast in their respective roles.
39
The Punisher (2004,  R)
The Punisher
The Punisher is a solid enough actioner. I liked Thomas Jane's portrayal of Frank Castle, and Travolta was great as the baddie. But the story got lost in all of the revenge, and the annoying neighbours pissed me off.
40
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie (1990,  PG)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie
It surprisingly works well as a live action movie, with the crime fighting, pizza loving, wise cracking turtles kicking ass around New York. Kid should love it, I know I did.
41
Spider-Man 3 (2007,  PG-13)
Spider-Man 3
Far too many baddies. Sam Raimi loses control of the franchise by listening to the fans.
42
X-Men Origins - Wolverine (2009,  PG-13)
X-Men Origins - Wolverine
Very disappointing considering the impressive trailer. The story was very poor, with very brief introductions and confusing conclusions to new and old characters.. However Jackman has always got a presence on screen, and is given great support by Liev Schreiber who gives a memorable performance as Sabertooth. There are a few impressive action scenes spread across the movie, but it's not enough to make you take a second look.
43
TMNT: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2007,  PG)
TMNT: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
An OK animated version of the popular comic book. Kids only.
44
Men in Black II (2002,  PG-13)
Men in Black II
An OK sequel that had it moments.
45
X-Men: The Last Stand (2006,  PG-13)
X-Men: The Last Stand
Brett Ratner kills most of the X-MEN at the start, and carries on killing the franchise with a lazy assed story with a crap ending. What a guy.
46
Blade - Trinity (2004,  R)
Blade - Trinity
The daft story and the introduction of new characters, is Blade Trinity's downfall. Although Ryan Reynold's character does work, the rest are either unconvincing or annoying.
47
Barbarella (1968,  PG)
Barbarella
Jane Fonda's sex appeal isn't quite enough to save this daft tale.
48
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007,  PG)
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
A little better than the first, but still dull and forgettable.
49
Daredevil (2003,  PG-13)
Daredevil
OK movie. Daredevil has it's moments, but the story is ridiculous. and Ben Affleck wasn't the most convincing superhero.
50
Judge Dredd (1995,  R)
Judge Dredd
Stallone tries his best to save this crap adaptation of the 2000AD character.
51
Barb Wire (1996,  R)
Barb Wire
Pamela Anderson bare ass isn't enough to carry this disaster of a movie.
52
Bulletproof Monk (2003,  PG-13)
Bulletproof Monk
Absolute rubbish. I'm a huge Chow Yun Fat fan, but I found this painful to watch. The direction was amateurish, the action was terrible, and the story was crap. Avoid.
53
Pathfinder (2007,  R)
Pathfinder
Viking's fighting Indians. Uncomplicated? You would have thought so.
54
Fantastic Four (2005,  PG-13)
Fantastic Four
Probably the most forgettable of all the comic book movies.
55
Superman III (1983,  PG)
Superman III
Director Richard Donner leaves the franchise and it all goes horribly wrong. The story is too similar to the first, and the special effects are worse rather than better than it's prequels.
56
Ghost Rider (2007,  PG-13)
Ghost Rider
Don't you read scripts any more Cage? Complete Trash.
57
The Phantom (1996,  PG)
The Phantom
Pretty dull actioner.
58
Elektra (2005,  PG-13)
Elektra
As much as I love Jennifer Garner, she and her character are let down by crap direction and a terrible storyline.
59
The Shadow (1994,  PG-13)
The Shadow
It's an OK movie, with some nice touches.
60
Batman Forever (1995,  PG-13)
Batman Forever
Great cast, shit director. Story of Joel Schumacher's career. Although it does have it moments, the camp dialogue, and terrible Bat Mobile are unforgivable.
61
Garfield - The Movie (2004,  PG)
Garfield - The Movie
Dreadful.
62
Superman IV - The Quest for Peace (1987,  PG)
Superman IV - The Quest for Peace
Complete trash. By far the worst in the series.
63
Captain America (1990,  PG-13)
Captain America
Cheesy doesn't come close.
64
Catwoman (2004,  PG-13)
Catwoman
This movie should never have been made, and the fact they fucked it up so badly, still makes me angry.
65
Supergirl (1984,  PG)
Supergirl
The big cast and budget weren't enough to save this train wreck. What a disaster.
66
Batman & Robin (1997,  PG-13)
Batman & Robin
Not even for curiosity's sake.
67
Heavy Metal (1981,  R)
Heavy Metal
It has always intrigued me. Difficult to find though
68
Spawn (1997,  PG-13)
Spawn
I've heard nothing but average reviews about this one. But I'm still intrigued.

What an incredible list! Very nice! Although I thought the CROW deserved better, somewhere in the top 10. The Spawn movie was a made for tv movie (HBO I think), with that said, it's not a blockbuster by far, but it is good, definetely worth seeing.
