Gremlins (1984, PG)
billy,s father, brings home a special gift while away on business, its a mogwai. a weird furry creature, with a strict set of rules, dont get it wet, no bright light, and dont feed after midnight, so he acepts, but when he does get them wet, they multiply, and then when they get fed after midnight they turn into horrible versions of a mogwai, and eventually chaos on christmas eve, in the town is on, this film is a smart horror comedy, from joe dante, again another childhood fav, a really god black comedy, these creatures are great, really funny watching them go about there business, they just destroy stuff, just wanna kill and have fun, great sequences, the fight with the mom, the gremlins in the theatre, the toy shop, all outstanding, a great christmas movie too, certainly up there, and the lovely phoebe cates, with a great chilling speech about santa claus, oh and corey fieldman dressed as a christmas tree, classic, great effects, great dialogue, check his father with the inventions, check out sequel too, its cool, a great 80s watch, gremlins and goonies, what a double bill |
