and there are LOTSA THEM! Korea will never run out of films in this genre. Although, they do recycle their stories, it seems I never get tired of them.

Miseuteo robin ggosigi (Seducing Mr. Perfect)
This is that kind of movie that, despite being your typical, cliche, highly repetitive formulaic romantic comedy, I find it very very enjoyable to watch.

Same old story, the usual dialogue, acceptable acting, I didn't even think the movie title actually fit the plot. It was more like, "Love Lessons by Mr. Perfect."

But of course, it did have it's moments. I especially found the wrestling scene hilarious. Apart from that, I just can't figure out why I like this movie so much.

Hmm. Maybe it's just Daniel Henney. :D

Eorin shinbu (My Little Bride)
Cute movie. I enjoyed Moon Geun Young once again, but the realization of the characters was too fast. But if you just want movies that are light, then this one would be great.

My Tutor Friend Lesson II (,  Unrated)
My Tutor Friend Lesson II
Not a direct sequel to the first, but a different story, with different characters in different circumstances. This time, the tutor is the guy and the tutee is the girl. You can still see a lot of parallelism with the first movie though, sometimes I even think they forced some scenes so it would reminisce the first.

I expected more laughs from this one (basing on what other people had said), but although I was disappointed that it wasn't exactly what I thought, it definitely still had its moments. I actually liked this better than the first since the humor was mostly cultural; she was japanese, and he's teaching her korean. (i love cultural humor. <3 ) So If you like cultural humor too, or you're someone learning Korean, this is a fantastic movie to watch. you'll especially love the restaurant scene.

This one had the same problem like the first. The writers don't seem to know how to the develop the character's fondness for the other that it always seems like in one scene the character instantly gets a jealous fit and realizes in a snap that he likes the girl (vice versa). And also, both movies were a tad longer than I find necessary.

Park Gi Woon may not be a hunk compared to ??? but I quite liked his character better than the latter. Jeong-man seem like a more realistic character, goofy yet capable (appropriately shown with his involvement in boxing.) unlike ??? who is more of the idealistic, tough, cool guy typical in Korean comedies.

Plus I think Gi-Woon is cuter. ^_^

Jeni, Juno (2005,  Unrated)
Jeni, Juno
Despite the serious issue of teenage pregnancy, the movie was able to present the story in a light, even cutesy way.

I loved the first half of the movie, when the two leads were starting to take responsibility for the their unborn child, but when it got closer to the end (esp when the parents found out) the story development got a little weird, i guess.

the later part of the girl's pregnancy was hard to follow, since for the most of the movie, her belly was still unnoticeable, and all of a sudden, she had a bump, and tada, she's giving birth.

Hye Sung Kim (Juno) was incredibly adorable in this movie, despite the mediocre acting. You just wanna pinch his face so bad! Some say his character is unrealistic, since he was a too perfect boyfriend. I beg to differ, I still cling to the hope that there are some men out there like juno. Maybe not as good-looking though. :p

Jambok-geunmu (She's on Duty)
Although She's On Duty had nothing extra special to offer, I enjoyed watching it very much.

A lot of movies have already done "undercover" plots, but something about the movie made me like it. Maybe it was just Gong Yoo. XD

Donggabnaegi gwawoehagi (My Tutor Friend)
The poster might mislead you, like it did me. It's just important to disregard the poster altogether, and you'll like the movie anyway.

This movie to me is like your average Korean romantic-comedy. Tough guy, and no-nonsense girl, High school bullies, even gangsters. Characters so unlikely to get together, in the end fall in love anyway. You kinda predict your way through it, but getting to the end is the fun part. Though, I really thought his realization (that he actually does like her) was kinda abrupt. He got jealous out of nowhere.

A little longer than I expected, but overall, if you like the 'lightness' of Korean cinema, then this is a movie for you.
