Considered to be among the first serial killer films, 'M' is an amazing film that, after almost 80 years, is still one of the best you'll ever see. The style and technique are mesmerizing and the driving plot is still, unfortunately, applicable to today. Technically, it's a beautifully shot film, and emotionally, it is a very intense topic that is taboo by todays standards let alone in the early 1930s. An easily forgettable picture. Only a weak director like Michael Bay can take a cast with Bruce Willis, Billy Bob Thorton, and Steve Buscemi and make a dreadful film such as this. Weak writing, mediocre effects, and an unbelievably corny and flawed script/plot. Michael Bay does it yet again...

I'm a sucker for low budget films. There's something beautiful about someone making due with what they have and delivering something more worthwhile than others do with a limitless budget. 'Carnival of Souls' fits into this category. Is it the best horror film ever made? No, but it has some effectively creepy moments that is not to be found anywhere in modern horror films. It's far from flawless, but the eerie atmosphere and being a staple of classic horror, I can't help but recommend this to you...

Highlighted by Orson Welles' monumental turn as Harry Lime and the unforgettable final act, it's no wonder why Carol Reed's 'The Third Man' is revered as the greatest among the genre. The cinematography creates such an atmosphere that draws you in and puts you directly in the streets of post-war Europe. I can't recommend this film enough...
