Planet Terror (Grindhouse Presents: Robert Rodriguez's Planet Terror)
This film for me was definitely a guy's film. In normal circumstances I would never make such a claim, in fact that in itself would feel like a challenge to me, however, hot chicks, zombies and machine guns were just a little too testosterone fueled for me.

I can see the appeal for others, but admittedly this is not my type of genre and I did find it a little boring. If anything it upped my opinion of 'Death Proof' - the other part of the double bill known as 'Grindhouse'.

What I do like about this project is these two popular Directors working in conjunction with eachother to create the double bill.

The press conference on the special features is pretty interesting and worth a watch, but in particular for Robert Rodriguez, for me, this is nowhere in the league of 'Sin City'.

Sin City
An amazing film with regards to the graphics, this really was like a comic strip coming to life. A huge star cast, the most impressive character for me being Marv.

Once Upon a Time in Mexico
The final instalment in Robert Rodriguez? Mexican Western trilogy. Johnny Depp added much humour to this film and with an all star cast, it?s certainly an Action film worth seeing.

Still not quite sure what I think of this film, the first time I watched it, I knew very little about it and watched it because it was a Tarantino, so I was completely hooked up until the point the vampires come in.

This time I was expecting and enjoyed it much more, still not quite up to other Tarantino films though.

VERDICT: As a vampire movie, definitely worth a watch

Definitely an upgrade from Rodriguez? ?El Mariachi? for me. I?m not usually a big fan of gun fights, but I have to say, this film added an entertainment quality to it.

Slick, entertaining, sexy and stylish.
