American Hardcore (2006, R)
What a great trip down memory lane this film was. Based upon the book American Harcore: A Tribal History. I do have to say the book is much much better than the film. One major group missing from the film was The Dead Kennedys. They get a whole chapter dedicated to them in the book though. As do the Misfits who too are missing from this doc. But one band, and my personal favorite from that era, who get major coverage is Bad Brains. Thank God for that!!! Tons of live footage of all the bands. Alot of it pretty shitty quality. But thats what is probably available.Definatly recommended for all those who enjoy hardcore punk. |

The Bridge (2006, R)
Wow; this was a depressing watch. But its also pretty intense. For a year the filmmakers had 30 cameras set up around the Golden Gate bridge and caught over 20 suicide jumpers. And they are all shown. Right down to their imact in the water. The stories about the jumpers are told from friends and family members. Its a rough and morbid watch and sometimes rather poetic. But never exploitive. |

Hated: G.G. Allin and the Murder Junkies (1994, Unrated)
Incredibly well made documentary on the the self proclaimed god of rock and roll G.G.Allin. Often times as funny as it is shocking. This is perhaps one of the best documentary ive ever seen. I have seen this over 20 times and it still to this day never bores me. Sick stuff from public animal #1. |

Sicko (2007, PG-13)
I have a love/hate relationship with Michael Moore. I love what he's usually trying to expose. But i hate the tactics he uses sometimes. Example- in Bowling For Columbine Michael Moore holds up a picture of a dead little girl who was killed by a hand gun for Charlton Heston to see as Heston is walking away. And as Moore is holding the photo up and saying to Moses, something abouit is that what you would tell this dead little girl or something like that. We see Heston just ignoring him and continuing on his way as Moore leave the photo for Heston to see. Its clearly something that was staged on Moores part. Its obvious, at least to me that it was filmed AFTER Heston walked away. And its just one of the many examples i could give to show his dumb tactics for playing on our emotions. |

The Kids Are Alright (2003, Unrated)
The Kids Are Alright is my all time favorite rock doc. From the opening scene of them performing My Generation on the Smothers bros Show to the last clip of them performing We Wont Get Fooled again, this documentary kicks major ass. Compiled of concert clips, videos and interveiws. The Who are fucking amazing to watch live. And when they perform A Quick One While He's Away on the Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus they completely prove what mad geniuses they were. Incredible. Keith Moon was the best driummer ever. He played like he lived...crazy and unpredictable. |

When the Levees Broke (2006, Unrated)
Documentary mini series on HBO about the Katrina hurricane catastrophy and the lack of responce from the U.S. govt. in New Orleans. Its a very gut wrenching documentary to watch! It angers me so, to think about how careless and uncoperative the Govt. was and still is towards the people of New Orleans, AMERICAN CITIZENS!! Especially when you see and hear stories of people trying to escape the nightmare, only to be turned back by armed forces who were gonna shoot anyone who tried to cross a bridge that led out of New Orleans! |

Stoked: The Rise and Fall of Gator (2002, R)
This is a seriously disturbing portrait of pro skater Marc 'Gator" Rowgowski, whos rise and fall to and from fame culminated in his murdering his girlfriend and burying her in the desert. Great footage of old skate jams and interviews with those who knew him best. He was a cocky son of a bitch, who's now just sucking alot of cocky in prison! |

Burden of Dreams (1982, Unrated)
I watched this imediatly after watching Fitzcarraldo. Both films share the same elements..obssesion, passionand failure. Accept Herzog is the center of this documentary on the making of Fitzcarraldo. At times just as surreal as a Herzog film. There are alot of interesting bits in this Doc. One being that the part of Fitzcarraldo was originaly played by Jason Robards. Who after 5 weeks of filming had a dysentary infection and was refused to take part in the rest of the film by his Dr. And Mick Jagger had a role as a actor who was to be Fitzcarraldos side kick. The part was eventually cut seeing Herzog couldnt picture anyone else in his role other than Jagger who left after Robards because he committed to making a Stones album. Thank god too because Kinski IS Fitzcarraldo. |

Crazy Love (2007, PG-13)
Incredibly strange and twisted tale of love that must be seen to be believed!! This is the story of a lawyer who courts a young and pretty woman, who eventually leaves him after finding out he's married and has been lying to her. Except the man is completely obssessed with stalking her and figures that if he cant have her no one will...so what to do....driven with twisted passion he hires a couple of men to throw acid in her eyes blinding her and disfiguring her for life. He gets caught spends 14 years in the pokey, still obssessed with stalking her and proclaiming his undying love for her. This guy is fucking nuts and he might not even be the one whos crazy here!!! |

Who the $#%@ Is Jackson Pollock (2006, PG-13)
Interesting Doc about a woman, Teri Horton, who buys a painting for $5. at a thrift shop...only to find out she may actually have a real Jackson Pollock worth $50,000,000.00!!!! The smarmy art "experts" believe its a fake, but theres a fingerprint matching Pollocks and paint samples match samples taken from his studio!!! Yet these "experts" are to uppity to admit they were wrong and she cant get a validation to her painting. |

My Best Fiend (Mein liebster Feind - Klaus Kinski) (1999, Unrated)
Interesting to Kinski and Herzog fans. Two egocentric' artists who's best works were made together. Kinski is notorious for being a madman. Filled with some truly cool footage from the Aguirre shoot, you see Kinski attack an extra with a machete!!!! He actually swings it on the guy hitting him in the head! Klaus fucking Kinski! |

The Filth and the Fury (2000, R)
A pretty insightful look at the carrer of The Sex Pistols told through recollections of the band members themselves. With old t.v. apperances, concert footage and an old interveiw with Sid Vicious. Pretty damn good accept that it could of been subtitles, as its hard to understand what the hell they are saying half the time. |

I Like Killing Flies (2004, R)
Being a Chef, this was a really fun film. Here is a guy who loves to cook and create and isnt afraid to tell the customers what he expects out of them. Incredibly funny! Kenny Shopsin is a big slob of a guy with a big mouth who will one minute tell you to get the fuck out of his restaurant and the next minute philosophize on life and the meaning of accepting that your a piece of shit. God bless him! I loved this Doc. |
