Religulous (2008,  R)
Religulous
This turned out to be a great film. The film is a documentry on actor/comedian Bill Maher who is a atheist and wants to understand why people are so devout to a religion in their lives. This film is funny and thought provoking at the same time. Bill seems to have done his homework on religion and the bible before just going out there and asking questions. He goes and ask questions to priest, ministers, rabbi, muslims, mormons, etc. Bill ask the tough questions about God, Jesus and passages from the bible and wants to understand why so many smart people would put faith in something they can not see. I will admit that Bill does poke fun a lot at religion and some of the people he talks to. But sometimes he can't help it when they misquote from the bible or when they just can't seem to debate something without getting angry at Bill for having a opinion. The film is basically Bill Maher showing his stance on religion and how he sees it in the film. He does pose valid questions and debates the topic of God and religion quite well. Plus he is a comedian so he will poke fun at the topic. Which he does quite well. I laughed quite a bit in the film. He is very quick witted and funny. I always did enjoy his television debate shows and stand up. If your religious or not I would suggest checking this film out. The film is entertaining, and makes you think. In the end then decide. But don't hate Bill for having a opinion and a belief in the end. Well worth checking out this movie.

Bowling for Columbine (2002,  R)
Bowling for Columbine
This is a great documentry about guns and it's place with in the U.S.A. The whole Columbine school shooting is the main focus but it does get into other subjects like gun laws, NRA and compares other countries like Canada and how different gun laws affect these countries. Overall a interesting watch.
3
Sicko (2007,  PG-13)
Sicko
Good film by Michael Moore. Makes me appreciate my Canadian health care now after watching this film. Of course we only get one side of the story. But a very strong side. The film basically compares Canada, France, United Kingdom and Cuba's health care compared to the USA. Kind of neat to see how different countries view health care. Worth watching.

Fahrenheit 9/11 (2004,  R)
Fahrenheit 9/11
This is a decent documentry about the events after and before 9/11. Michael Moore shows us the connecting people and events that are linked to the terrorist and President George Bush and his political party. The films shows some interesting stuff and is well done. Moore's approach to the subject is his usual stuff of trying to get in the face of some politicians and demand some answers. The films brings up some good points and is very well done. The film is interesting and worth watching at least once.

An Inconvenient Truth (2006,  PG)
An Inconvenient Truth
This was a really good documentry. This movie is scary what are future will be like in 50 years time. The films shows a strong case about pollution and its effects on the Earth. Also shows what we can do to help reduce these effects. Gore helps make the film funny at times and very interesting. At least it was to me. Some may find this film boring. But I would suggest giving it a shot. Worth the watch due to the content.

The Devil You Know: Inside the Mind of Todd McFarlane (2001,  Unrated)
The Devil You Know: Inside the Mind of Todd McFarlane
The is a good film on the life of comic book artist Todd McFarlane. It shows how he got his career stared to how he became one of the biggest comic artist in history. If your a fan of his work on Spider-man and his creation Spawn then check this film out. You see him go from a nobody to a multi millionaire running his own company. Interesting to see a day in his life.
7
American Pimp (2000,  R)
American Pimp
This was a interesting documentary on the life of pimps. The characters are interesting as well as their stories. But the film sort of doesn't show all the sides of this lifestyle or all the bad with it.

Hitman Hart: Wrestling with Shadows (1998,  R)
Hitman Hart: Wrestling with Shadows
This is a decent documentry about Brett"The Hitman" Hart. It started off as the film crew just following the year and life of Brett and his wrestling career in the WWE(then called WWF). But it turned into seeing Brett being screwed by his boss Vince McMahon and the inner politics and business of wrestling. I was a big fan of Brett as a kid growing up watching wrestling. I found this to be interesting film of life behind the scenes of the show. I don't following wrestling anymore and not sure if Ed and Brett are still bitter anymore. But it is a good look into Brett and his career into wrestling. The film is more for fans of wrestling or are a fan of Brett Hart.

Beyond the Mat (1999,  R)
Beyond the Mat
This was a interesting documentry in the life behind wrestling. Great for any fan of the sport/entertainment. Sad to see how Jake the Snake is fighting drugs and alcohol.
10
Metallica - Some Kind of Monster (2004,  R)
Metallica - Some Kind of Monster
A must see for any fan of Metallica. The film that started as a making of their new album turned into a film about a rock/metal group trying to keep a band together and fight their personal demons. The film is well done and shows the human side to the band. The film shows that even this great band are only human like everybody else and are trying to make their lives better. Plus the films shows us things about the bands history and personal lives you would never see or know. Plus the music alone through out the film is awesome. Even if your not a Metallica fan you may still want to see this film for just the interesting interaction that takes place through out the film. Overall a great documentary film.

Live Forever (Live Forever: The Rise and Fall of Brit Pop) (2003,  R)
Live Forever (Live Forever: The Rise and Fall of Brit Pop)
A great look behind the history of Britpop in the 90's. I'm a big Oasis fan so this was interesting. This bacially follows Oasis, Blur, Pulp, Massive Attack, The Verve and the band Sleeper. Overall I found this to be quite a interesting documentry. The extras have Noel Gallahger talking about certain topics. He was very funny in this. Check it out.
12
Super Size Me (2004,  PG-13)
Super Size Me
This was a well done documentry. I will now think twice before I go eating out. I can't believe he was ending up with liver failure due to just eating McDonalds for a month. He might as well drank it away.It was interesting to see this man go from very fit to a big fat lazy man. Well worth a watch.

Where in the World Is Osama Bin Laden? (2008,  PG-13)
Where in the World Is Osama Bin Laden?
The man who brought us Super Size me goes into this film looking for Osama Bin Laden. Now that is just a excuse for this film. What it really goes into is how many in the Middle East are much like anyone and their views on Americans and American policy. You learn that they don't hate Americans. They just hate their foriegn policy. I found this to be interesting documentry. We get many sides and opinions of regular Middle Eastern people. Plus you see their troubles and dangers some countries deal with. You get to see many sides that you don't hear on the news. There are also many funny moments in this as well that helps lighten the mood of the film. Now we only get a small side of the story of why these countries have many problems. But it is still solid enough to make some people understand what they normally would just shrug at. Worth a watch.
