Mou gaan dou (Infernal Affairs) (2002, R)
I watched this movie from part 1 to 3 a couple of times because I need to digest it deeply. The movie made me awe because it got a very smart story compared to other chinese/HK movies ever made. A police infiltrate the mob and that mob got an infiltrator in the police. HK movie was known to made stories on cops and gangsters in their action movies. Infernal Affairs was like the next evolution of this famous police drama from HK. Hey, I watched HK movies since I was in kindergarten and this movie really own. |

The Illusionist (2006, PG-13)
This movie is awesome, it was a journey of a great magician getting involved with the duchess and subsequently the imperial politics. He was under police suspicion because the police itself was corrupt. |

The Fisher King (1991, R)
Its an easy to figure out movie. The DJ was a snob and he let a killer made a killing spree in a club killing that insane guy's girl. After 3 years he live a below than average life with a video rental shop owner. Suddenly he was rescued by that insane guy after a suicide attempt. That insane guy was having PTSD, having an illusion that a red knight was attacking him. After the DJ found out that he was a victim of that night killing spree, he wants to help him. So he help him to get the girl he wanted. He got his old job back and got them together. After that insane guy took the girl home he was attacked again by the red knight and this time he was battered to a coma. After knowing he was in a come, the DJ tried to help him. So he try to get the 'holy grail'. He gave him the holy grail then he woke up. In the end, the they met each other and the whole ward sang. Both of em then slept naked on the field watching the fireworks. Comedy/Romance/Drama... it got it all. |

I was stupid enough not to suspect the gun(he swaped it). My stupidity made it as a surprise and the movie was astonishing. Anthony Hopkins was a manipulative bad guy, a smart one which made you hopeless. In the end after you thought there was no evidence to put away this guy. There was the gun, I never suspect it. That was a smart story. It kept me watching to the end. |
