This film is a total masterpiece. It is without a doubt one of the greatest films ever made. This is probably the number one film that can change peoples lives forever. This film is probably Stephen Kings most famous novel but I prefered the Green Mile to this one because the Green Mile was more depressing and there was more drama even though there was an awful lot drama in this film too. My favourite scene of the film is where Andy escapes the prison and stands in the rain with his arms in the air. That is probably one of the best movie moments ever and it is a classic image of the film. Well, that scene is pretty much the poster and cover of the film. The acting in this film was absolutely superb from Morgan Freeman. He definately deserved his Oscar nomination but I dont think he deserved to win it. Tim Robbins was good but I think he could have done a bit better as Andy Dufresne. I think that actors like Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise or Kevin Costner would have been good for the character. This film shows how scary prison life can really be. Even for the present prisons right now like being stuck in the cells, doing chores for the prison and even sometimes get raped by either another prisoner or a guard. I think film and also Fight Club are the highest ranked films that havent won any Oscars at all which isnt like most classic films. Well Fight Club was only nominated for Best Sound Effects but this film was up for Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Music - Original Score, Best Film Editing and Best Sound. No wonder this film is number 2 on IMDBs top 250 films of all time. This film will remain a masterpiece for many, many generations to come.

Best Star Wars out of all six. Most people would say either Episodes 3,4 or 5 are the best Star Wars films. Love Yoda training Luke because you learn a lot about the Force and two styles of the Force. Yoda is my favourite Star Wars character because he is so small and so different (species) and yet he is the most powerful person/thing in the galaxy. Also, the way Yoda speaks aswell, like when he says: HELP YOU I CAN. They are completely different types of druids and yet they bond so well together. I love R2s style of speaking. Like In Revenge Of The Sith, He Beeps UH-OH and he beeps chuckling sounds aswell. Also, C-3POs stubbornness of what his job is with his masters. On the other side of the film, I love the Empires searching for the Millennium Falcon. It is very tense. When Han wants to fix the light speed inside the shop, he acts like he knows what he is doing with it even though he really has no idea. The I AM YOUR FATHER quote has to be nearly the most famous moment in film history. When Vader says this to Luke, it completely changes the plot of Episode V and also of Episodes VI, I, II and III. This is the number one rip-off film of all time. Another famous quote, when Leia says to Han before he is going to be frozen in carbonite I LOVE YOU and Han says back I KNOW. That sounds better than I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU TOO. The battle of Hoth is my favourite Star Wars battle out of all six. The visual effects are brilliant in this scene for a film that was made in 1980.

Ian McKellen should have won Best Supporting Actor for this film. This one is brilliant because it is the start of the journey and you learn about the Ring, Sauron and Gollum aswell. The art and the cinematography was brilliant on this film. And so was the visual effects and make-up particularly on the hobbits, Nazgul, and the fighting scene in Moria. This was my favourite film before I watched the other two films. I Dont know how many times I have watched this. Lord Of The Rings is my favourite film series ever. It is really tense when the Nazgul trying to find the Ring!! It was really tense at the cinema. I was only ten when I watched it. Love the end scene because it was truly when the trilogy came alive and got more tense and exciting!! It is probably the most adventurous film series of all time!! That is probably why it won lots of oscars. That it looks so serious and realistic even though it is a fantasy trilogy. Saruman The White is an amazing film villain because he is a good wizard gone bad, Christopher Lee's Saruman turns his back on the plight of man and chucks his lot with the Dark Lord of Mordor - a sort of magic Mussolini to Sauron's Hitler. His war ends just as messily, too.

An absolutely awesome film. Worst of the original trilogy but not worst of all of them. Episode 2 and episode 1 are the worst. The acting in this is good from Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher. But quite disappointing from Mark Hamill. The plot is excellent but not as good as Episodes 5 and 6. Sir Alec Guinness did very well in his Oscar nominated performance as Obi-Wan Kenobi. I am not surprised that Alec Guinness did want to star in a sci fi after he has been alot of past classics but when the entire saga became a legendary series. I am not sure whether Alec Guinness was happy with his Oscar nomination but he deserved it though. This film will be a classic for many many generations to come.

I love the Godfather trilogy. I dont understand why Marlon Brando refused his Oscar for Best Leading Actor as Don Vito Corleone. It is one of the best male performances of all time. He was one of the greatest actors of all time. Vito Corleone is my favourite character from the Godfather trilogy. Vito Corleone is a all-time classic character because he is played by two of the greatest actors ever: Marlon Brando (elderly Vito) and Robert De Niro (young Vito in The Godfather: Part II). The picture of Vito Corleone with his cat in his hand sitting in the chair that is such a classic image. R.I.P. Marlon Brando. Al Pacino, James Caan and Robert Duvall were all absolutely fantastic and the three Corleone sons and Talia Shire as Vitos only daughter Connie. Probably the best film of the 1970s other close ones are The Godfather: Part II (sequel of first Godfather), Star Wars, The Deer Hunter, Jaws and One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest. This is probably the number one film when every single actor of the casts acting was fantastic. This is my favourite one of the trilogy. With performances, style and substance to savour, this shows how it is possible to smash box office records without being mindless.

One of the most famous films ever made. This is another contender for best performances by the entire cast along with The Godfather. John Travolta was awesome as Vincent Vega and so was Samuel L. Jackson as Jules Winnfield. Bruce Willis and Uma Thurman were very good in this masterpiece. This is Quentin Tarantinos best film. I cant believe the Best Supporting Actor Oscar in 1995 didnt go to Samuel L. Jackson. Well, he was the favourite to win it. As far as Best Picture is concerned, the favourites were this, Forrest Gump and The Shawshank Redemption. But when the ceremony went underway, it was going to be either Forrest Gump or this. But the award went to Forrest Gump in the end (Yes!!). Even though I still really like this film. I knew John Travolta wasnt going to win Best Actor and I thought that Uma Thurman was going to win Best Supporting Actress. A really graphic film. Not as graphic as Kill Bill though. I love the phrase from the Bible that Jules says when he is about to kill somebody particularly the scene in the café near the end of the film. This film will be a masterpiece for generations to come.

This is a masterpiece on freedom for lands, dramatic turns in the film, and Frodo and Sams quest to Mount Doom to destroy the One Ring; led by the villainous Gollum. It is really well-directed by Peter Jackson. He is one of my favourite directors. The acting was good, particularly from Elijah Wood and Ian McKellen. All of the battles, confrontation and adventures are all at the perfect time in the film. The script is very good for a fantasy film. The best quotes have to be the long King Theoden when Rohan are joining forces with Gondor to fight off Saurons army. I love the Nazgul because they are hooded, they look so evil and you feel for them in some ways because of the easily-seductive Rings of Power. Gollum is my favourite character in the trilogy and of all time because he has a nice side to him and a vile one too. He makes me laugh in some places because of his voice and the way he moves. The art in this film is amazing, especially Mount Doom, the Winding Stairs and Minas Tirith. The make-up is brilliant particularly on Frodo and Sam, also all of the Orcs. The visual effects are amazing especially Gollum, Shelob and the battle scenes. I am not surprised that it won best picture of the year. But I am quite shocked that it won all 11 oscar and became the 3rd film to have won 11 Academy Awards along with Ben-Hur and Titanic. There is no leader at the moment. It is a tie between those three films. I have watched this film more than 500 times. I cant wait to watch The Hobbit which is scheduled for release in 2009. I love the animated film of Lord Of The Rings which was released in 1978. The best quotes have to be the long King Theoden when Rohan are joining forces with Gondor to fight off Saurons army. I love the Nazgul because they are hooded, they look so evil and you feel for them in some ways because of the easily-seductive Rings of Power. This film is definately a classic work of art from Se7en director David Fincher. The acting in this film was absolutely outstanding from Brad Pitt, Edward Norton and Helena Bonham Carter which I think should have had some Oscar nominations for Best Actor, Supporting Actor and Supporting Actress. This film is very, very tense and has a little bit of fantasy involved in the film which is where it makes this film quite a complicating story. Brad Pitt plays Tyler Durden really well because he is a charming guy with alot of arrogance aswell. It is like he really means business when he opened Fight Club. Edward Norton was good as the Narrator because he looks very complex and a very soft yet quite hard character to think about when he is around Tyler. Especially when he is around Marla Singer who is a young woman who is arrogant and appears like a prostitute. She makes a really good couple with Tyler because she is a bit of a bitch who deserves to be with a big charming guy like Tyler. I thought this was alot better than Se7en. This is another film along with Shawshank Redemption and a few others that are classics that havent won any Academy Awards at all. Well it should have won some at least. I am sure that this film was so underrated at first before it was released but when it was it turned out to be a classic like it deserves to be.

Excellent Film!! Quite A Complicating Plot!! Awesome Visual Effects!! There Are Like 300 And Sin City Because Of The Slow-Motion Action That Is In The Film!! Doesn't Surprise Me Why It Is One Of Best Fantasy Films Of All Time!! Brilliant Acting Too - Particularly From Keanu Reeves And Laurence Fishburne!!

Jaws
(1975, PG)
This is without a doubt the tensest film I have ever watched. The opening scene with the young girl Chrissie is the best scene of the film and probably the classic scene from the whole film. But I think there was a bit of a disappointment: the characters werent that interesting really. R.I.P Roy Scheider. It is a film that most people who have watched this film will never swim far in the sea again. I am one of them. I went to the Eastern England beach about 1 day after I watched it. A total classic phenomenon. With all due respect to Steven Spielberg (as one of my favourite directors): thanks for making most of the people who have seen the film have fears of swimming in the sea now!. But this is probably Steven Spielberg's first film and this is when he became a film directing legend. It really terrified me but I still really enjoyed this classic masterpiece.

This film I really enjoyed. Kevin Spacey deserved his Oscar for his performance as Roger 'Verbal' Kint. But personally I thought he was better in American Beauty. This film became a masterpiece from a debut director Bryan Singer just like Reservoir Dogs did with Quentin Tarantino. When you see the gangs and all of the crimes, it reminds me alot of Reservoir Dogs. But this is alot better. It is also similar to Snatch. The rest of the cast were alright aswell particularly Benicio Del Toro, Chazz Palminteri and Pete Poslethwaite.

Probably the best film sequel ever made. Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Robert Duvall were absolutely outstanding. Robert De Niro deserved his oscar in this film for Best Supporting Actor. This was probably Robert De Niros first ever film, so along with Peter O Toole in Lawrence Of Arabia, it is one of the best film debuts in history. Al Pacino should have won for Best Leading Actor. I loved this film, but I didnt like it as much as the first Godfather because I love Marlon Brando as Vito Corleone. Dont get me wrong, Robert De Niro is also class as young Vito Corleone. This is the best directed film of the trilogy by Francis Ford Coppola. The art and cinematography was absolutely fantastic aswell. Michael Corleone is like Elizabeth I in some ways because in the first Godfather he was a nice, young man but since he became Don of the Corleone family after Vito died, and when he killed Fredo his half-brother, he became a cold-hearted murdering monster who simply wants power over all of the other families and industries in all of America. That is where Michael is different from Vito. Vito wanted power, but he didnt really turn into a cold-hearted murderer. Don Vito Corleone's youngest son isnt some leering, capering psycho. In Michaels mind he is avenging his family and saving them. Michael never thinks of himself as a gangster. To audience, though, hes the original gangster.

Awesome Film!! I Don't Really Like Horror Films But This Is Amazing And So Is The Second One!! Sigourney Weaver Is Excellent!! The Visual Effects Are Brilliant!! There Was One Part In The Film That I Shivered On When Kane Was Suffocated By A Little Alien And Then Another Alien Came Out Of His Stomach!! Made Me Feel Sick!! lol. Other Than That Awesome Film!!

This one is the best one of the original trilogy but unsure whether I will enjoy Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull more. Harrison Ford in his finest film with his finest acting aswell in this masterpiece from Steven Spielberg and George Lucas. The action is the best in this one than the other two. Karen Allen was awesome as Marion Ravenwood. I cant wait to see her return in Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull. This one is more adventurous in my opinion than Temple Of Doom and Last Crusade. This film is Steven Spielberg at his finest. One of his best films ever.

I absolutely adore this film. This is my favourite action packed film of all time. This is my favourite Ridley Scott film. This is my favourite Russell Crowe film. I personally think he did deserve his Oscar in this film but it was probably luck that he did. I looked on the Oscar charts of 1st to 5th it said that Tom Hanks would win for Cast Away but Russell Crowe was still awesome in this film though. His performance in A Beautiful Mind is another film with one of his best performances. Joaquin Phoenix was absolutely fantastic in this film aswell in his Oscar nominated performance as Commodus. Despite the fact that this film was very action packed with alot of violence involved it was a beautiful tale with Maximus an his murdered wife and son. In this film, the art direction, cinematography and costume design are absolutely awesome which is expected of an epic film and the colours of the film suit both Ridley Scott and Russell Crowe. Even compared to their films together. This is my favourite Scott-Crowe film. I love A Good Year and American Gangster. I cant wait to see Body Of Lies. This film teaches about what the afterlife could be like when you die just like what Maximus sees in this film. This film is tied with Lord Of The Rings as my favourite epic film. This film deserved every single Oscar it got including Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Visual Effects, Best Sound and Best Costume Design. I think that it should have won Best Art Direction, Best director, Best Cinematography and Best Music Original Score. This film will remain a classic action packed epic film for a very long time that will make you jump out of your skin yet would maybe bring tears to your eyes.

Amazing film. Best one I have watched so far. Shame Sigourney Weaver didn't win Oscar for performance. A very tense film. Awesome visual effects. Better than the first one because there are more than one aliens involved in this film. Really clever how the Alien Queen was sent into outer space!! When Ellen and Newt met the Alien Queen and with the other aliens surrounding them, I thought how the fuck is a woman supposed to escape with a little girl in her arms?! One of James Camerons best films. I preferred Titanic. Warrent Officer Ellen Ripley really holds the Alien cycle together. This is my fathers favourite film so that is another reason why I love this film.

Another favourite of mine. Better than first one but not as good as the last one. Love Helms Deep battle with the Elves, Men and Dwarf against Orcs/Uruk-Hai and the Wolves of Isengard battle on the field. I love Gimli and Legolas having competitions in every battle they have who can kill the most Orcs. An excellent introduction to Gollum. The visual effects are brilliant on Gollum. The computer generated visual effects that are used are fantastic. Very good that Peter Jackson can work Gollums movements the same as Andy Serkis movements. The Gollum visual effects are similar to the Yoda visual effects in the new Star Wars trilogy. Also, I love Treebeard because of the voice and the character. The visual effects are awesome on him aswell. The art direction is brilliant particularly in Fangorn Forest, the Dead Marshes and in Helms Deep. In this one and Return Of The King the film is featured on one particular country. The Two Towers = Rohan. The Return Of The King = Gondor. I cant believe that Lord Of The Rings and The Godfather are the only two trilogies that have had all 3 films to be nominated Best Picture. At the end of The Fellowship Of The Ring and The Two Towers, you always want to find out what is going to happen next. Like when I watched this film at the cinema when it finished I thought to myself I want to watch The Return Of The King now.

I rented this film for the first time and I only watched 45 minutes of it. But when I watched it again, I thought WOW! WHAT A CLASSIC MASTERPIECE THIS IS. This is a romantic masterpiece that everyone would enjoy. No wonder it is IMDBs number 9 film of all time. It is one of my favourite black and white film. This film shows that the classics can never die. This is a film that all of the classic songs and phrases can be remembered forever like SEE YA GAIN KID and WE WILL ALWAYS HAVE PARIS. After this film, I think they made it into a song. Humphrey Bogart was brilliant as Rick Blaine in this masterpiece. And so was Ingrid Bergman as Ilsa. When Rick sees Ilsa again, and when she wants him to help her and her husband, it is like a total clash of personality between Ricks tough character and Ilsas soft character. The flashbacks were really clever with Rick and Ilsa in Paris. This is nearly one of earliest masterpieces of all time along with Gone With The Wind, Citizen Kane, It's A Wonderful Life and The Wizard Of Oz. What an awesome classic masterpiece this film is. This film will become a classic phenomenon for generations!! After I have watched this and Gone With The Wind, I am going to start watching the old classic films. R.I.P: Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman. WE WILL ALWAYS HAVE PARIS!!

Michael J. Fox is perfect for Marty McFly. Doc Brown is brilliant aswell. Really well acted by Christopher Lloyd. I like Doc more than Marty because Doc invents the time machine and he wants to be a famous scientist/inventor but makes me laugh because he sometimes gets things wrong and cant fix things off something that he created himself. The time machine is something that everybody would wish for. No wonder it was such a classic. I love the story. Very good example of a family film. Awesome visual effects, art direction and costumes. Good writing aswell. Funny that Martys mother had the hots for him. Though that that was funny. Biff makes me laugh aswell because he is a bit of an idiot even though he is a vile bully.

One of the best films of 1995. Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt: Oscar worthy nominations. The adapted screenplay is probably the best out of the whole film. David Fincher is a brilliant director. He has directed two of the greatest films of all time: this film and Fight Club. A very good cop film, it is quite hard to understand. A dark, gripping thriller which saves it's most shocking revelations for the final scenes.

Heat
(1995, R)
An outstanding cast with two awesome leading actors with two completely different characters. Both Al Pacino and Robert De Niros performances were brilliant. Robert De Niro always makes a good villain in a film. Al Pacino made a good cop in this film but I think he is better as a villain. The rest of the cast such as Val Kilmer, Ashley Judd, Jon Voight, Natalie Portman and Wes Studi are good for their characters. This is a very good heart racing motion picture. This is one of those films that is a masterpiece that hasnt won or hasnt been nominated for any Oscars at all. But I think that the duration of the film was way too long. I think they should have made to like 1 hour 59 or maybe 2 hour 20 or something. Michael Mann directed this film well. But not his best film in my opinion.

A masterpiece. The acting in this film is amazing. Particularly from Kevin Spacey, Russell Crowe and Kim Basinger. It is a typical police film. Has to be the best police film of all time. It is a film that you have to stay and watch all the way to the end. Things happen in this film when you last expect it, I am not going to give an example because it will spoil it.

A very good Vietnamese war film. This is a film that looks like a horror film as well as a war film when it isnt really a horror film at all. This is a film that I have been told is a total classic and masterpiece from the great Francis Ford Coppola along with the Godfather trilogy. This is a very dark war film with lots of different sorts of characters. An American colonel who goes AWOL and murders villagers of where he lives. He is treated like a god there. Marlon Brando portrays the character really well. He looks a scary guy but he looks quite a soft one aswell. Robert Duvall gave a brilliant Oscar nominated performance as Lieutenant Colonel Bill Kilgore. Martin Sheen was alright in this film. I dont think he is a very good actor at all. Could have had a better actor to portray Colonel Benjamin L. Willard. That is one of the things that made me feel disappointed about this film. Other reasons are that the film could have been cut down by a couple of scenes. I really enjoyed the first hour and a half of the film. But when I knew that Colonel Kurtz was going to appear I was excited and nervous about how he behaves after he was going insane. But when he came in I got a bit bored. I expected him to be in it alot more. It is quite strange that Marlon Brando is the leading actor in this film even though he is only in the last 20 minutes of the film. And the film lasts about 2 hours 20 minutes (theatrical version) and 3 hours 22 minutes (redux edition). This was very well directed by Francis Ford Coppola. This probably will be in most people opinions one of the most famous classic war films in film history.

No wonder some people and some websites say that this is the best film of all time. Me, on the other hand, doesnt think that it one of the best. I think the best from the elder days is Casablanca. Orson Welles was brilliant as Charles Foster Kane and he directed this film really brilliantly aswell. William Alland, George Coulouris, Ruth Warrick and Dorothy Comingmore were also brilliant in this film.

This is definately my favourite boxing film because it has alot of boxing character to it. Also, it is a true story about the life of Jake La Motta. This is probably Robert De Niros best performance but not my favourite performance of his Im afraid. I prefered him in the Deer Hunter. He did deserve his second Oscar in this film though. Robert De Niro plays really good villains and bad ass characters as he does in this, Taxi Driver, The Godfather: Part II, Heat, Cape Fear and more films. I think this is the only black and white Martin Scorsese film. Joe Pesci and Cathy Moriarty were awesome in both of their Oscar nominated performances as Joey La Motta and Vickie Thailer. I thought this film was better than Cinderella Man, Million Dollar Baby and the Rocky series aswell. My 3rd favourite Martin Scorsese film and 3rd favourite Robert De Niro film aswell.

This is without a doubt in my mind one of the funniest comedies ever made and also one of my favourite comedies and films of all time. The acting in this film was absolutely fantastic especially from Jack Lemmon as Jerry/Daphne. Tony Curtis and Marilyn Monroe were brilliant in this film too. This film reminded me a lot of Mrs. Doubtfire not just because there is a man disguised as a woman but also the two types of people in one character have different situations. Like Joe (as a woman) was being best friends with the woman he loves as a man called Sugar. But Joe (as a man) is actually in love with her and she day dreams about him all the time. Jerry makes me laugh the most because there is an older man who loves him/her and sends him/her flowers and kisses him/her. This is the first Jack Lemmon film that I have ever watched but this is certainly my favourite performance from him so far. This is my second favourite comedy film of all time after Mrs. Doubtfire. After watching this film Billy Wilder has become one of my favourite directors after I also loved Sunset Boulevard. A classic comedy and certainly one of the funniest of all time.

What a classic and phenomenal film. It is probably the best film of the 1960s. the story is very powerful. I really felt for Lawrence because he is white and really isnt Arab. Also, that he was forced to go to Arabia. When I heard that this was a true story I looked on the real T.E. Lawrences life biography before he died and I was fascinated by his biography. So I decided to watch this film. Peter O Toole is perfect for T.E. Lawrence because his boss sent him to Arabia and that the Arabs felt confused that a white man was there to join them and/or help them defeat the Turks. The cinematography is absolutely fantastic and so is the art within the film. The costumes are probably the best. There is a zoom out view during the film when you see the desert, it looks absolutely beautiful and also the sunset image like on the front cover of the DVD. I love the fact that the Arabs use camels instead of horses. I bet it must be hard to direct a film like this and to still make the film when there are sandstorms on the desert. There are some scenes of racism in this film (not really against the Arabs but against Lawrence). I could watch this film repeatedly. It is a very, very long film. I think it is longer than Gone With The Wind. It is a classic masterpiece that everyone would enjoy.

What a classic film this is. This film reminds me a lot of Star Wars: Episode II Attack Of The Clones because the scenery and the area of this film is a lot like Coruscant. Also, this film is similar to A.I: Artificial Intelligence because of the difference between artificial people and normal people. The art direction and visual effects were absolutely fantastic particularly for a film that was made in 1982. One of the best films of the 1980s and definitely one of the best science fiction films of all time too. This is definitely one of Harrison Fords most famous films. He has played some of the most famous and heroic film characters in film history. Characters like Han Solo in the original Star Wars trilogy and also the archaeologist Dr. Henry INDIANA Jones in the four films that Indy has appeared in. After playing these characters and all of the other films he has been in, he is one of the best actors of all time. This is my second favourite Ridley Scott film after Gladiator. I also love Alien, American Gangster, Thelma & Louise and A Good Year. This film will always be remembered for the classic story and the classic characters within the film aswell.

E.T is a classic masterpiece from legendary director Steven Spielberg. This is definitely one of the most personal films that have ever been put to screen in film history. This film isnt just a magical family sci-fi film because of the story it is also because of the outstanding music that is used in this film. The music sounds like it can easily melt someones heart of just simply make them cry. The music is best when E.T makes the bike fly for the first time while he and Elliott are on it. Also it is a classic scene but particularly the classic image where the flying bike is crossing the moon. One of the greatest family phenomenons of all time. It is a film that made me cry, not because that E.T had to return home but simply because of the pure magic of the E.T character and the cute friendship between him and Elliott. I think the acting from the young kids were absolutely brilliant. Henry Thomas?s performance as Elliott was good for a kid but could have been a bit better. Robert MacNaughtons performance as Michael was really good aswell. Drew Barrymores as Gertie made her become a really popular actress. Also, she was only like 4 years old or something when this film was released. The rest of the acting from the cast like Dee Wallace, Peter Coyote and K.C. Martel were good aswell. This is definitely my favourite Steven Spielberg film and my favourite family film aswell. This is definitely a perfect example on friendship and love. There are only 8 other films that have touched me like this film has. They are Mrs. Doubtfire, Singin In The Rain, Casablanca, Pinocchio, Edward Scissorhands, Forrest Gump, Sweeney Todd and Titanic.
