Vanilla Sky (2001, R)
I had a headache watching this film. BUT IT WAS A GOOD HEADACHE. With all the elements and mind bending clues. I felt every emotion I should feel. Great story. At first, I thought, this is going to be a realistic one but it's definitely not. I think that is the pullback of the film. Another is Tom Cruise being a little bit self-centered (I think), because he is one of the producer. About the film, I was craving for the ending. There was a part of me that wants to fast forward it. But it was a blast watching the film. Very original and Mind bending. Penelope Cruz ROCKS! She is the best in the cast. She was astounding and great. Cameron Diaz was also great but I didn't appreciate her much. I just can't feel her in the film. Try to watch in a good mood. You'll like it. |

Being John Malkovich (1999, R)
A very mysterious film. There were weird elements in the film. One of them is the 7 1/2 floor. It was so mysterious in the sense that the size of the floor doesn't really affect the story but it became a necessity in the film. There was a feeling of sadness and emptiness when the scene takes place in the 7 1/2 floor. It is very intriguing. Anyway, the film was full of mysteries but I don't find it badly weird. You should watch this film. It's either you like it or not. All the technicalities of the film was great. Starting from the cast to the story ETC. |

Moulin Rouge! (2001, PG-13)
"I don't need you anymore! All my life you made believe I was only worth what someone would pay for me! But Christian loves me. He loves me! He loves me, Harold. And that is worth everything! We're going away from you, away from the Duke, away from the Moulin Rouge!"- Satinne |

Catch Me If You Can (2002, PG-13)
Very funny. Esp. the airport scene. Very smart. I was expecting more of an action kind of film, but it was more of a "comedy-smarty' kind of film. Great direction with no other than Steven Spielberg. The story is interesting and unique. One of the best biopics I've watched. The cast is great especially Tom Hanks Christopher Walken. Amy Adams was very cute in this film. She was outstanding. I also liked the opening sequence. One of the best! I hope to see more movies with great stories but flawless direction. |

Million Dollar Baby (2004, PG-13)
Beyond his silence, there is a past. Beyond her dreams, there is a feeling. Beyond hope, there is a memory. Beyond their journey, there is a love. |

Atonement (2007, R)
"So my sister and Robbie were never able to have the time togther they both so longed for and deserved. Which ever since I've ... always felt I prevented. But what sense of hope or satisfaction could a reader derive from an ending like that? So in the book, I wanted to give Robbie and Cecilia what they lost out of life. I'd like to think this isn't weakness or evasion but a final act of kindness. I gave them their happiness." |

The Prestige (2006, PG-13)
A very matured film. Not n the sense that it has explicit scenes but because it has contents that people like me can't understand easily. On the technical side, the cinematography is one of the best. The actors were also great. Especially Christian Bale. The story is very unique. But all in all it is one of the greatest film I've watch. A MAGICAL RIVALRY. |

Juno (2007, PG-13)
I think most of the modern people can relate to Juno's life. This story is very "now". About the film. At first I thought, it is gonna be another stereotype American-comedy film but it's not. It brought a lot of new vibe in the Oscars. The script made the film deserving for the nomination, but (for me) not for the award. At least I've watched Atonement. And comparing the two, I think Atonement is way better than Juno. There is the feeling of sadness after the film (there should be) but it was like "nothing special". As for Ellen Page, she was great. She deserves her Oscar nomination. |

The Reader (2008, R)
Great story but the explicit contents was the pullback of the film. But I can't blame the director. At least it was necessary for the film. The cast was great but I don't think Kate Winslet deserves her Oscar. I think it is for someone else. Although all my praises to her. She did a great job. It was sad for Kross because I thought this is going to be his breakthrough film. He still haven't got his breakthrough performance but he is a very dedicated actor. Great film. Try to watch it without any minor with you. |

Revolutionary Road (2008, R)
A great film. Kate Winslet did a great job in this film even greater than her performance in The Reader. Leonardo DiCarpio is just okay in this film. I think Kate Winslet carried the whole film. The film is about young couples having problems in their married life. I think people can learn something from the film. It is a very sad movie though. Recommended to newly weds. Watch this film. |

Cold Mountain (2003, R)
Cold mountain has the same story with Atonement. Both are about two lovers away from each other. The story of the film is very brilliant. I think this movie deserves a best picture nod. The cast did great. Nicole Kidman, Renee Zellweger and Jude Law were brilliant in the film. Renee Zellweger deserves her Oscar. I think Jude Law and Nicole Kidman should have been nominated at least. A certified must-see. |

The Devil Wears Prada (2006, PG-13)
Meryl Streep did a great job in this film, she's great! The story was like Ugly Betty. The movie was okay and a bit predictable from the beginning up to the middle part but the ending was unexpected. Though the ending surprised me, all in all, the film was just okay. Definitely this is not just okay. "Good" will do. |

The Stepford Wives (2004, PG-13)
Weird film. Imagine a town full of robotic wives and manipulative husbands. That's a big NO. The reason why I watched this film is because it is Nicole Kidman. I thought this is a heavy-drama film but it is not. The twist in the end was good but the story itself is not working well. Good luck for those who is planning to see this. |

I'll be taking that trip down the highway before too long. I'll be waiting for you. Love always and forever, Brandon."- Brandon Teena |

Shakespeare in Love (1998, R)
Great acting by the lead guy but not with Gwyneth Paltrow. I didn't like her much in this film. There was an unjust feeling in her side. I do think the didn't blend with each other much. There was an enormous amount of sensuality between the two of them but it seems that they don't get it right. About the other member of the cast, Judi Dench is the greatest. She is the best. She deserves her Oscar very much. The rest of them is great. They really pulled everything together well. I also appreciate the other elements of the film, the costume, story, cinematography etc. I hope to see more of Gwyneth Paltrow. I think she is the next Meryl Streep. |

Gladiator (2000, R)
There inconsistencies in the film. Some of them worked but others didn't. For me it is a bit of a trying-hard film (not good to start my review). But if you try to look further, you can see a real meaning of the film. The story was one of the simplest. There was nothing really special with the story. It's about jealousy, that's it. But the big "BOOM" of the film is the acting and execution. I've already watch Chocolat and Erin Brockovich. Comparing the three, I think Chocolat stands out. It was a ver organize film unlike Gladiator. But I do agree with gladiator winning. There was so much talent in the film. Full of effort. That is what the other two films doesn't have. |
