Superman Returns (2006,  PG-13)
Superman Returns 4.0 Stars
A great film, really well made, with great action scenes. Brandon Routh was very convincing as Superman and at times could be mistaken for Christopher Reeves. The story had some flaws but overall was very enjoyable.

The biggest pile of pap evermade! What a total let down! They could have made this film really good, instead there was no story, no good characters, and a stooopid stoopid ending!

Back to the Future (1985,  PG)
Back to the Future 5.0 Stars
The first in the superb 'Back to the Future' films starring Michael J. Fox and Christopher Loyd.
A crazy old scientist named Doc Brown (Loyd) has invented a time machine out of an old Delorean car. Marty McFly (Fox) is forced to go back in time to 1955 after an terrible accident. However back in '55 he accidentally stops his parents from ever meeting and must now find a way to get them together or he will never have existed!
This is a comedy action film at its best. 'Back to the Future' was a ground-breaking film that is loved by all. Fox and Lloyd ar esuperb in the film, as are co-stars Lea Thompson, Crispin Glover and Thomas F. Wilson as the brilliantly nasty Biff Tannen.
Brillianty directed with some exceptionally great scenes such as the school dance, the skateboard chase scene and of course the spectacular time travelling effect of the Delorean proove that this film will stand the test of time!
A really fun film!

Mart McFly hits the Wild West as he travels even further back in time!
The whole cast of the first two films return to play ancestors of their characters with 'Mad Dog' Tannen as Marty and Doc Browns nemesis!
The final installment rounds everything up nicely and gives us a fun filled ride in the process. Yeehaaa!

Batman (1989,  PG-13)
Batman 5.0 Stars
Dark, moody, sinister... welcome to Gotham City! Tim Burton works wonders on the Batman franchise, creating a truely comic book world that also offers a darker edge to most comic book films that we have seen.
Michael Keaten moves away from playing comedy roles and plays Bruce Wayne and the caped crusader brilliantly!
Add Jack Nicholson playing crazy as only he can as the Joker, Batman is a film that all will love!

Batman & Robin (1997,  PG-13)
Batman & Robin 2.5 Stars
Unfortunatly, compared to the previous three films, Batman and Robin was very disapointing.
George Clooney takes up the mask of Batman which wa sa bad move for a start as Clooney played the Bruce Wayne character badly, with a daft smirk on his face all the way through.
Arnie plays the mighty Mr Freeze, who looks amazing, whilst Uma Thurman plays the devious Poison Ivy. Chris O'Donnell returns as Robin and Alicia Silverstone arrives as Batgirl.
The story is terrible, and seems like it was put together in a few minutes. The action is good and the costumes great but thats about it.

It is a shame that neither Tim Burton or Michael Keaten decided to return for Batman Forver as I think they could have helped make this film as good as the previous two.
Nevertheless, Batman Forever is a good film with Tommy Lee Jones and Jim Carrey as great villains! Val Kilmers not too bad as Bruce Wayne either.

Another Tim Burton classic, with an excellent cast and story! Michael Keaton reprises his role as the moody and by far the best batman.

Bulletproof Monk (2003,  PG-13)
Bulletproof Monk 3.5 Stars
Chow Yun-Fat plays a nameless Monk on an anceint quest in 'Bulletproof Monk', an action comedy film that is highly enjoyable.
The Monk is entrusted with a magic scroll that can extend its holders life. Howeverhe is comnig to the end of his reign of the scroll and is looknig for a sucessor which he thinks he has fonud in American pick-pocket Kar (Seann William Scott).
However at the same time an old villanous ex-nazi wishes to get his hands on the scroll to become young once again and take over the world!
'Bulletproof Monk' may have a silly name, but it is far from jsut a silly film. Sure, it is a comedy and there are some funny moments, but there is plenty of action and a pretty good storyline.
Chow Yun-Fat is great in the film and plays the role similar to Jackie Chan in many of his films (yet slightly more serious). Scott is almost the same character he always plays (which he palys well) and Jamie King is good as the sexy female lead.
All in all, Bulletproof Monk is an enjoyable flick that all can like. It has great action scenes and lots of funny moments. What mroe can you ask for a simple, no brainer film?

Catwoman (2004,  PG-13)
Catwoman 2.0 Stars
When news of a Catwoman film reached our ears, I was unsure of how good it was going to be. Michelle Pfeiffer played her so well in 'Batman Returns' that I wondered if anyone else would be able to match.
Helle Berry takes the role of the cat, however not the same woman we all know from the comics, cartoons and films. She is Patience Philips and is gifted with the powers of a cat and uses it to do good and bad.
It is shame to say that this film is not brilliant. The story is weak and the acting leave sa lot to be desired. Sharon Stone saves the film a little as the villain whos cosmetic products have made her invincible!
'Catwoman' is a film to see when there is nothing else to do. It has its moments but don't be expecting anything great.
