The Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring (2001, PG-13)
I was skeptical to watch this film because I don't like the sword & sorcery genre and used to work at Borders so I was kinda sick of LOTR. Boy was I wrong. This movie is great by all standards; production, directing, sound score, VFX, etc. The attention paid to every little detail is astounding. People say this is the weakest installment of the trilogy because it's "slow"; I call it character development. This is a modern masterpiece and a major achievement in cinema. Truly a landmark film, highly recommended. |
