The first horror movie I ever sat down and forced myself to watch without running out of the room. While "The Crate" is clearly the best (Fritz Weaver's performance is deceptively hilarious), "Something To Tide You Over" is a very juicy 2-man show between Ted Danson & Leslie Nielsen. We're all so used to seeing him do comedy now, people forget that Leslie spent most of his career doing rolls like this - as The Heavy. He plays the sociopath to perfection. |

Psycho II (1983, R)
Just because it's a sequel to one of Hitchcock's best, sans Hitchcock doesn't mean that this movie automatically sucks. In fact, it's a pretty smart and really engaging murder mystery disguised as a slasher movie. I really felt for Anthony Hopkins as Norman Bates, desperately clinging to his hard-won sanity as unseen forces stalk him and those around him like lions just waiting to strike. Can I also say that I've had a crush on Meg Tilly from the first time I saw this movie? I think I was 10. :-) |
