Ghost Busters (Ghostbusters) (1984,  PG)
Ghost Busters (Ghostbusters)
sci fi comedy starring Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, Sigourney Weaver, Rick Moranis and Annie Potts. written by Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd. directed by Ivan Reitman.

after getting fired from their jobs at the prestigious Columbia University, three parapsychologists open up their own "ghost busting' business. in walks Dana Barrett (Weaver) and tells them of an "odd" experience with her refrigerator. eventually, she and her goofball neighbor (Moranis) become possessed and it is up to the trio of "ghost exterminators" to save the day.

I remember sneaking into the hallway and watching this film over the shoulders of my siblings when I was like five or six-years-old. it ended up scaring me and my mother ultimately found out. but it was so worth it!

Aykroyd, Murray and Ramis are comedy royalty and I am so glad that I had the privilege to be raised on films like this one. I loved it then and I still love it to this day. the film is a classic. ♥

Ghostbusters 2 (1989,  PG)
Ghostbusters 2
sci fi comedy and sequel to 1984's Ghostbusters. starring Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Harold Ramis. Sigourney Weaver, Ernie Hudson and Peter MacNicol. written by Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd. directed by Ivan Reitman.

this time around the guys battle the evil Vigo the Carpathian, whom is trapped inside one of the paintings at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where Dana Barrett (Weaver) just so happens to work. I swear, that poor woman cannot get a break! doing Vigo's bidding is the hilarious Peter MacNicol as the odd and creepy Dr. Janosz Poha. can Venkman and the guys save Dana and her baby, Oscar, in time? :-O

some say its formulaic and nowhere near as good as the first. I disagree. this one is just as enjoyable as the first and it too still remains one of my favorite comedies to date. ♥

I Love You, Man (2009,  R)
I Love You, Man
comedy starring Paul Rudd, Jason Segel and Rashida Jones. directed by John Hamburg.

when real estate salesman Peter Klaven (Rudd) and his beautiful girlfriend Zooey Rice (Jones) get engaged, Zooey soon realizes that Peter doesn't have any close male friends. after over-hearing Zooey and her girlfriends talking about his lack of friends, Peter decides to go out and find a best friend. then at one of Peter's Open Houses one day, in walks Sydney Fife (Segel) and the two men hit it off and soon become BFFFs.

hilarious! Jason and Paul are great together, I love Jason so much! Lou Ferringo's cameo was very funny and J. K. Simmons and Andy Samberg's scenes had me laughing, too.

my favorite parts: the Rush jam session and concert scene! instantly reminded me of the infamous Freaks and Geeks eppy. XD
I'd totally go to a concert with those two any day!

living on a lighted stage
approaches the unreal
for those who think and feel
in touch with some reality
beyond the gilded cage

cast in this unlikely role
ill-equipped to act
with insufficient tact
one must put up barriers
to keep oneself intact

living in the limelight
the universal dream
for those who wish to seem
those who wish to be
must put aside the alienation
get on with the fascination
the real relation
the underlying theme
