El Laberinto del Fauno (Pan's Labyrinth)
Wow this movie is one of a kind dark and intriguing, it is beautifully directed, excellent acting the villian is one of the best caught on film. I had high expectations going in to see this movie and it did not disapoint refreshingly original, the creatures will leave you in awe in how wierd and original they are. Definetley one of the best films I've ever seen. A must see by everyone.

6
Nikita (La Femme Nikita) (1990,  R)
Nikita (La Femme Nikita)
Luc Besson's second best movie behind The Professional, the music is great the action is stylish yet brutal, but what really stands out is the chemistry between the Nikita and Bob that the american remake failed to achieve in Point of No Return. This is a must see for everyone.
7
Battle Royale (Batoru Rowaiaru) (2001,  Unrated)
Battle Royale (Batoru Rowaiaru)
Wow violence, violence and more violence that's all I have to say about this movie. This film has everything in it, violence, big explosions, and a complete psycho(always good), Gory, romance, and yet very poetic and sad. Incredible filmmaking! Japanese sure do know how to make good movies.

Perfume: The Story of a Murderer
The imagery and cinematography of the film is fantastic, the performances are excellent you get sucked into how sick and demented the main character is. You feel disgusted and are left in awe by the main characters actions and obsessions. The film is a must see

Princess Mononoke (Mononoke-hime)

Kaze no tani no Naushika (Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind) (Warriors of the Wind)
Another Great film from Myazaki, with a very important message.

24
Chinjeolhan geumjassi (Lady Vengeance) (Sympathy for Lady Vengeance) (2005,  R)
Chinjeolhan geumjassi (Lady Vengeance) (Sympathy for Lady Vengeance)
Out of the Trilogy of Vengeance I have to say that this is the second best of Chan-Wook Park's movies Oldboy being the best by far, but this one still has the directors style written all over it its disturbing, violent, stylish, strangely poetic and unique, all mixed together with strong performances, themes and great character development.
25
Mou gaan dou (Infernal Affairs) (2002,  R)
Mou gaan dou (Infernal Affairs)
The Departed is an exact replica of this film for the most part their is just one big difference Mark Walberg's character isn't in this one but it is just as good as the Departed but the Departed is slightly better. But I still want to see parts 2 & 3 of this version just to see if they will also be remade by an american director.
26
Man cheng jin dai huang jin jia (Curse of the Golden Flower) (2007,  R)
Man cheng jin dai huang jin jia (Curse of the Golden Flower)
Visually beuatiful, the story is filled with greed, vengence and political intrigue, The movie starts off a little slow but more than makes up for it in the action sequences. Chow Yun-Fat does an excellent job in his role as a ruthless Emperor which you will love to hate.
The movie is basclly how a family is torn apart for their own reason some honorable others not so much and how it affects a nation. Husband vs Wife, Son vs Father and Brother vs Brother. Highly Recommended.
27
Malena (2000,  R)
28
Apocalypto (2006,  R)
Apocalypto
Wow, I have to say that I was expecting this film to be horribly bad and unwatchable but was the exact opposite. The story is compelling even though it's nothing new but its setting is what gives it a fresh look. It's much better than Mel's Passion of the Christ. The movie is very intense but worth watching.
29
Goya's Ghosts (2007,  R)
Goya's Ghosts
Very Interesting movie about the Inquisition. The make up effects that were used on Natalie Portman were awesome you don't even recognize her when you see her after 15 years of torture. All the actors due a great job in performances and you just can't wait for Javier Bardem's character to get what he deserves at the end.
30
Final Fantasy VII - Advent Children (2005,  PG-13)
Final Fantasy VII - Advent Children
This movie should have been the one to hit theaters not the other one (Spirits Within) which was horrible
31
Casshern (2004,  Unrated)
Casshern
Visually Stunning, the story is a bit convoluted but everything makes sense at the end. It has a very strong Anti-War and Tolerance message. The movie looks like an anime in live action, a style of film making note seen in the states.
32
Gekijyouban hagane no renkinjutsushi (Fullmetal Alchemist: The Movie - Conqueror of Shamballa) (2005,  PG-13)
Gekijyouban hagane no renkinjutsushi (Fullmetal Alchemist: The Movie - Conqueror of Shamballa)
This was a great way to finish off the series, It will be dificult for people who haven't seen the tv series to understand it but for the rest that have seen it will be very pleased with this movie
