13 Going on 30 (Suddenly 30) (2004,  PG-13)
13 Going on 30 (Suddenly 30)
romantic comedy starring Jennifer Garner, Mark Ruffalo, Kathy Baker, Andy Serkis and Judy Greer.

at 13-yrs-old, Jenna Rink (Garner) is dying to fit in with the school's "cool" group, The Six Chicks. she invites the group to her birthday party, which they agree to come to if she does a class project for them. at the party, Jenna is once again made a fool when the girls trick her and have her wait in the closet for Jenna's crush, Chris Grandy, during a game of Seven Minutes in Heaven. but instead of Chris, it is her best friend, Matt Flamhaff, that opens the door. humiliated, Jenna slams the door, closes her eyes and wishes to be "thirty, flirty and thriving".

Jenna wakes up and she is a 30-yr-old successful fashion magazine editor and is best friends with former Six Chick, Lucy 'Tom-Tom' Wyman (Greer). it appears as though all of Jenna's dreams have come true. but she soon starts to realize that she isn't exactly the person she thought she would be. she doesn't talk to her parents and she and Matt (Ruffalo) are no longer friends. saddened by this, she starts to change her life and ultimately, realizes that the life she once wanted, wasn't the life she wanted anymore.

the female version of Big, I love this film and the message behind it. cheesy, sure. but what's so wrong with a happy ending? I miss the days of the corny 80s films, where everything ended on a happy note.

a sweet "be true to yourself" kinda flick. one that always puts a smile on my face. ♥

All About Steve (2009,  PG-13)
All About Steve
comedy starring Sandra Bullock, Bradley Cooper, Thomas Haden Church and D.J. Qualls. directed by Phil Traill.

If you love someone, set them free. If you have to stalk them, they probably weren't yours in the first place.

after a very brief date with whom she considers the perfect man, Mary Horowitz (Bullock) becomes smitten with cameraman Steve Mueller (Cooper). the date is cut short when Steve is called away on a work assignment and afraid that she may never see him again, Mary sets out to find her Mr. Perfect.

I don't know why, but I liked this movie. yes, it was silly and a little over the top at times, but for some reason, I liked it.

cute little film about being true to yourself and loving you for you. ♥

The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past (2009,  PG-13)
The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past
romantic comedy starring Jennifer Garner, Matthew McConaughey and Michael Douglas. directed by Mark Waters.

new twist on Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, in which high profile photographer and womanizer Connor Mead (McConaughey) is visited by the ghosts of Girlfriends Past, Present and Future. along the way, he is shown how his actions affected others, including childhood best friend and the love of Connor's life, Jenny Perotti (Garner).

extremely predictable and oh-so corny, but I still liked it. nice little flick with a happy ending. and did anyone else catch Christa B. Allen (13 Going On 30) playing Jen at a younger age once again? very cool.

uber cheese, but still pretty damn good. ♥

He's Just Not That Into You (2009,  PG-13)
He's Just Not That Into You
dramatic rom com starring Ginnifer Goodwin, Justin Long, Drew Barrymore, Kevin Connolly, Bradley Cooper, Scarlett Johansson, Jennifer Connelly, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Aniston. directed by Ken Kwapis.

the lives of twenty and thirty-somethings intersect in this film about relationships and love in the 21st century. based on the self help book of the same name by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo.

such a great story. very well written, with an all-star cast that delivers top-notch performances. but it is Ginnifer Goodwin's Gigi that stands out. I've been a fan of Ginnifer's ever since I first watched her as Margene, the third wife of Bill Henrickson, on HBO's Big Love. I absolutely love her.

I found myself saying "yep. been there, done that" on several occasions. lol
a new favorite of mine. love it! ♥

The Proposal (2009,  PG-13)
The Proposal
romantic comedy starring Sandra Bullock, Ryan Reynolds, Mary Steenburgen, Craig T. Nelson and Betty White. directed by Anne Fletcher.

when shrewd New York book editor, Margaret Tate (Bullock), is threatened with deportation, she forces her assistant, Andrew Paxton (Reynolds), to marry her. however, before they can tie the knot, she has to go home with him and meet his family... in Alaska.

I love Sandy B. and would watch her in anything... I watched Speed 2 for goodness sakes!... and despite the fact that this is a very predictable film that follows the good ol' rom com formula to the letter, I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Betty White once again steals all of the scenes that she is in, as the silly, yet very frank, Gammie. I love her! just wanna pick her up and put her in my pocket! another happy little find for me was The Office's Oscar Nunez, as Ramone, the town's go to man for everything... including the town's exotic dancer. he made me giggle several times.

oh! almost forgot about the soundtrack... Katy Perry, Rob Base and DJ EZ Rock, Lil' Jon... good stuff!

sweet, funny little rom com. ♥

feeling like she is never going to get out of the small town she lives in, Donna Jensen (Paltrow) picks up a copy of My Life in the Sky the autobiography of Sally Weston (Bergen) and sets her sights on becoming a flight attendant.
