Favorite Romances

I think this might overtake Pride & Prejudice as my new favorite romantic drama!! Special accolades to Brendan Coyle who gave a marvelous performance. Nicely done.

Update: I cannot even tell you how much I love this movie nor how many times I've watched it. I still think it was very well done and I am just so drawn to watch it as I love all the characters. Wonderful cast.

Absolutely wonderful. It's still my favorite even after many, many viewings. And even though I know this already - there's still not enough kissing.

Beautiful story. Time doesn't interfere with love. Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana were wonderful together. Once again, not having read the book, I liked this immensely. How cute was Brooklynn Proulx! Jealous of herself - hilarious. Loved Michelle Nolden's small part too. Rachel and Eric are on track to winning oscars. When the right film comes along they'll get there. Loving Eric Bana....thanks for the booty shots and the look in the mirror.

I love a good romance and this is it. Love these two together.

Completely wonderful to watch and enjoy. Beautiful performances from the whole cast. Loved Gerard Butler as the phantom.

I must confess (as I channel my british personality) that I watched this only to see Dominic Cooper and found that I didn't like him as much as I did the rest of the cast who were outstanding. I daresay I like this version more than Emma & Kate's version even though I loved that cast too. I did feel there was more genuine emotion shown from this group. Everyone did a magnificent job. I can't believe the 'baby fat' quality Cooper had in his younger years. Still a cutie - )

Another favorite romance.

I really liked this. Yes some have called it cheesy but I thought it was simple and sweet. They had wonderful chemistry which makes everything even better. Anyone else notice how many movies that Keri Russell has played a young unwed mother in a tough situation?? This movie, Waitress, August Rush? Am I missing any? LOL! Ahh well she's good at it so I'm all for it. I had never really seen too much of Mr. Ulrich and really wasn't much of a fan but he did a good job in this. I thought Mare Winningham did a nice job also.

Another Jane Austen romance that I love. I'll have to watch the other versions as well. Everyone in the cast did a lovely job. I enjoyed watching this couple together.

A story that's happened thousands of times to many young girls. Young love, young pregnancy. Credit to the whole cast for bringing it to life. This was pretty good. Elisabeth Dermot Walsh and Liam Cunningham did a great job. Colin Farrell looks so young! His performance wasn't too bad. I won't say who dies but such a sad death and grave scene. Again, wonderful performances from Elisabeth and Liam.

I think I'm going to have to give it 3 and a half stars only because I wanted to see more emotion from Mr. Darcy but it was still really very good. A truly great romantic story.

Ciaran Hinds gives a wonderful performance here. He can put so much emotion into one look. Amanda Root did a lovely job as well. A very nice version to watch.

I watch this movie over and over. Love Brendan Frasier!

Loved Eric Bana in this almost as much as Brad Pitt and even though it wasn't the best of dramas it has something that just draws me into it.

Very good drama and action but another sad bittersweet ending. Loved Renee Z. and Jude Law. Nicole was great too. This is one of those movies that I could watch over and over.

I liked this story and especially Sophie Marceau. I think she's a wonderful actress and I wish she were in more movies.

I'm giving this 3 and a half stars because of Naomi Watts. She did a great job and the chemistry was good between her and Tim Daly. Overall it probably could have been a little better but still enjoyable to watch.

Ok it's still a good movie even though after so many times it feels overly done.

Super drama. Too bad about the ending.

I chose to watch this version first because for some reason I'm not drawn to watch Gwenyth Paltrow's Emma. Kate's portrayal was good. She seemed to play the immaturity card very well and her character was quite annoying at times but mostly I wanted to see Mark Strong's performance and I believe he delivered nicely. The supporting cast was a good fit also.

This makes me wish I had studied poetry more. I enjoyed seeing the mysterious love story that unfolds and I liked watching both couples from the past and the present together. Nicely done by all.

It was overrated but I give it three and a half stars for historical awareness and special effects. Kate and Leo's talents are well above their performances here.

Touching story. Obviously there could've been more detail and smoother flow but still nice to watch.
