There's a reason I can recite this film word for word: it is the best of the 80s and one of the greatest ever made. I will never tire of it. Love love love it. ♥
Way before he was McDreamy, Patrick Dempsey made a nerdy lil girl from AZ fall in love with him... and no, that's not the plot of the film, either... *le sigh* he has always been a cutie, imo. ♥
teen comedy starring Jennifer Jason Leigh, Sean Penn, Judge Reinhold, Phoebe Cates and Ray Walston. written by Cameron Crowe. directed by Amy Heckerling.
People on 'ludes should not drive!
1980s teen comedy about a group of individuals whose lives cross paths. based on Cameron Crowe's book, which he wrote after going undercover as a student at a California high school for Rolling Stone Magazine.
this is the film that all other high school films look up to. the one with the original dude, Jeff Spicoli. who knew he would grow up to be the Academy Award winning actor that he is today? a great cast of some of today's and yesterday's biggest stars bring to life the amazing script by Crowe, that has some of the best dialogue and some of the most quotable lines of all time.
1980s romantic teen dramedy starring Molly Ringwald, Jon Cryer, Annie Potts, Harry Dean Stanton and Andrew McCarthy. written by John Hughes. directed by Howard Deutch.
another gem from the master of 80s teen flicks, John Hughes. the tale of Andie Walsh (Ringwald), the "girl from the other side of the tracks", Blane McDonnagh (McCarthy), the "rich sensitive guy" and Phil 'Duckie' Dale, the best friend that is secretly in love with Andie.
I debated over whether or not to give this one the full five stars, but then decided against it. maybe if Andie had made the right choice and chosen Duckie...
forget Team Edward or Team Jacob. I'm with Team Duckie! ♥
romantic teen comedy starring Freddie Prinze Jr, Rachael Leigh Cook, Jodi Lyn O'Keefe, Paul Walker and Anna Paquin. written by R. Lee Fleming Jr. directed by Robert Iscove.
granted, the plot is one of my biggest pet peeves: "nerdy girl" puts on makeup and suddenly she is transformed into "popular girl". that has long been a thorn in my side, since I first saw The Breakfast Club and the wonderfully unique Allison is taken aside by Miss Princess Claire and is turned into what was considered by the mainstream as beautiful.
that having been said, for some reason, I kinda like this film. yes, its cheesy. yes, the acting isnt exactly Oscar® worthy. but every now and then, its nice to pop in a movie thats just simple, mindless entertainment. ♥
